(Oct 13) Car Models

Well well... it's been quite some time since we had the last blog entry. Shall have a non-kid related post for tonight!

It's always been my dream to own the scale models of the cars that i'm driving, but i've never been able to find the nice models. partly because i only buy second hand cars, and they are often not exactly flashy, hence it's been a futile attempt so far, to buy the car models. Lo and behold, thank goodness for taobao, i actually managed to find some very decent replicas of the old cars, and at a very reasonable price too! i was very impressed by the level of detailing on those models. shan't say too much, shall let the pictures speak for itself.

The red Honda Jazz (2007 - 2010). the first car that was registered under my name. technically, the first car that i was really driving full-time, was a Nissan Sunny 1.6. it was a manual car, and there was nothing fanciful about it. This Jazz, is a very good drive indeed. fuel-economical & had a sporty feel to it. tho i did not exactly fancy the hatchback initially, but it sort of grew on me. So much so, i actually traded in my red Jazz for a newer blue Jazz after 2 years?

The Honda Civic (2011 - 2013). My first love. would have loved a black Civic, but mine was blue. awesome nonetheless. still remember i actually took the car out for a spin at night, just to enjoy the drive. it was a very nice drive indeed. between the blue Jazz and my blue Civic, i drove a Volvo S60 in the States for 6 months, but could not find any replica model of the S60. Had a short 2 month stint driving a Suzuki Vitara too. didn't quite fancy it, was consuming too much fuel, had no power and super slow acceleration. Only good thing, it was really towering above the other cars, so it was a different feel.

very beautifully done

check out the detailing, the boot even has the breakdown sign!

The C180 (Mar 2013 - present), my first luxury car bought in Singapore. This replica is the slightly newer model, but i could not find the exact one, so this would have to make do hah! Mine's black though...

still am pretty amazed by the detailing on these cars

got some smaller-scaled models, just for fun. the black merc looks more like the one i'm driving now hah. sitting pretty beside my first car, the red Jazz!

ok, that's all for now. the replicas are so nice & reasonably priced, i'm thinking if there's a market for importing such scale models into Singapore... hmm...

oh yes, a big shout-out to the beautiful wife, thanks for indulging me, letting me buy these boy toys! =)
