(late may 15) Excursion to Gardenasia and Jcube's ice skating rink

So, for mothers' day, papa bought a new iphone 6 for mama. This was the first photo that mama got, a picture of the most dashing dad dad who happened to go back to camp for the NSmen's briefing on that day. papa had bought the new Samsung galaxy 6 too, the camera apparently automatically edited his complexion, making it smoother. ha. dad dad liked this photo as he said he looked slim in it. I missed papa in uniform, ha.

so...the subsequent photos...the kids in raincoats on a drizzly way to school

they wanted to take the meow meow bus to IMM after going to the library at Jurong East. Chanced upon the social wall at Westgate. ha sooo cute.

while waiting for the meow meow bus.

was chatting to papa on whatsapp and saw this love letter on facebook. papa exclaimed it resonated exactly with what he felt. enduring, persistent and patient love. We hope you would find such true love too, and work hard in the marriage, as it takes tremendous effort and lots of help from the holy spirit.

 Excursion on 28th May Thursday.

Xun and tong's first ever school excursion. It was a good thing that they allowed tong to join jie's K1 class instead so we could all go on the same day. You two had been asking every day if it was excursion day since the week started. We had to wake up really early, amazingly, the two late risers woke up before the alarm went off. ha

Saying a prayer on the bus and the sleepy head could not stifle a yawn.

mama did not know where we were heading to actually. I thought it could be to Bottle tree park or Hort Park. Turned out it was the Kranji Countryside.

Taking a shot with some classmates...

then everyone in Xun's class joined in...ha...tong being the pet of the class, xun's friends always gushed over and patted his head.

The teachers herded the children to a shaded area for a school photo.

what a picturesque place. there was even a stone chapel for weddings!

Look at all the enthusiastic parents snapping away

The surroundings were so lovely...we should come back to explore the countryside during the holidays

Went into the air-conditioned function room. The instructor detailed how the terrarium should be built...

Xun and her best friend, Isabelle, and best cousin, JJ

and mama was with her little lover boy

yay, finally we could put our green thumbs to good use...eh...the other time, the plants we grew all died. However, a terrarium would be self-sufficient...and the plants they chose were hardy ones...should be pretty ok this time?

First the pebbles, then the soil, then put the roots firmly into the soil and add the pretty ornaments

Xun with her very own terrarium

Isabelle was diligently toiling away

Tong decorated the terrarium all by himself

a group photo to commemorate the event

Then, there was leisure time to explore the place. They found a lounging chair and made it into a slide...

While Xun ran off with Isabelle, tong sauntered to the quieter areas and found a ram

and a delightful koi pond

Jie and Isabelle went with Aunt Joyce to the shop...it was really fascinating, the landscaping features were just sooo gorgeous

like this breathtaking lava tank!

We went to find jie who was playing on the swing

An unfortunate incident happened. Jie was playing catch with Isabelle and she fell...and somehow she had profuse nose bleed at that unfortunate moment. ha...good thing the teachers knew how to handle it...tong was bored and wandered off with Ms Chan to check out the lion...

After jie recovered, we went to look for them...and found this secluded part which had bristly animals in the trees...so adorable

the two sentimental boys picked up flowers from the floor. Tong declared he needed to show it to papa before throwing it out of the car.

End of excursion part 1. Next part - to the surprise that xun and tong did not know till we reached the place. Uncle ZH drove us to Jurong East while Aunt Val took the bus with Jayron to meet us there.

Had lunch at the coffee shop, the kids finished fast and were playing with their ice cream pop cones outside a spectacles shop...ha

After lunch, we wanted to find an ice cream parlour to celebrate JJ's birthday...Eh...but there was NONE in jcube!

The kids could not resist taking photos at the photo spot

and having a picture taken at the social wall...haha

Then the surprise! papa came to join us and we headed to the ice skating rink and were appalled to find a snaking queue! oh my...poly students could enter for free, that explained why. we were about to give up and Aunt Val mentioned sagaciously that there should be a queue for the paying customers. papa went to check and YAY, we went to the short queue instead.

Orrr, the cute sporty little ice skating queen...who insisted that she would be able to skate without help...ahem...jie jie could get stubborn at times

getting ready...it was JJ's birthday month, so two persons could go in free, what a blessing.

We got two seals, one for tong and one for JJ. Papa held xun's hand to skate...mama was glad that xun's first ice skating experience was with her darling papa, so she knew to look for men who would be gentlemanly to her when she grew up : )

Ha Aunt Val was in the gallery with Jayron and could take pictures for us

papa edited the photo and put this on his instagram...it went onto his FB and garnered 100 plus likes. who would believe that mama was 4 months into her pregnancy and still ice skating? ha...eh...but my butt really hurt for the rest of the day...it was such strenuous exercise...tong was just relishing being pushed around on the seal

JJ's Hong Kong based uncle was back in Singapore for a meeting. So we decided to join them for dinner at NEX, which had a water play which could occupy the kids till dinner time.

tong fell asleep, the two older ones ran amok

Chubby little Jayron!

Had a sumptuous dinner...went home and xun was sobbing in the car as she missed JJ...sigh...this little lass....well mama was beat tired and took days to recover from the exhausting enervating day which started form 730am till late at night. My gosh..ha...the kids were worn out too and took naps for days after, though they had dropped it from their routine.

Looking forward to the next excursion with our cousins. How blessed to have cousins.
