So, the Taiwan trip had come and gone, and we were settling into the usual routine of going to school and work...
xun had asked for a ribbon for her little flower cat, ha, found a pretty silvery one, which delighted her greatly. She looked like a xiao hua mao to me.
on another day when we took the bus out, the little tired girl fell asleep. Sometimes, she would look really unglamourous, with her mouth agape, or slumped with her hair all over her face, well this was sure an elegant and poised sleeping pose
read some random poem and quote on facebook, about how our attitudes and perspectives matter
met up with mama's ex colleagues for lunch at Marche, Suntec
Xun with her signature mustache whenever she ate anything with chocolate
Well, tong with his selfie again. Check out the battle scar on his face, he fell and hit against the edge of the table leg...gosh
On 20th July, mama and papa's 8th year into our marriage. Well we dated for 8 years to get married on this same day at Mecure Roxy hotel, having a romantic pool wedding, then 8 years down the road, we had xun, tong and baby didi Tim who would be coming soon...oooorrrrr...our marriage was getting more and more glorious with God's grace
papa had a work function to attend to, so mama celebrated with xun and tong at our favourite Hong Kong cafe, with instant noodles...and xun wolfed down one entire bowl by herself! tong was sleepy at dinner time as usual and snuggled on the bench seat.
Uncle Cheng Huan was so sweet, he sent this pot of flowers called "Sweetness in the air" from Far East Flora to wish papa and mama a happy anniversary. We bumped into the delivery man and security guard at the lift, mama thought papa had wanted to do something sweet to make up for his absence...turned out...noPE. ha
and after the flowers wilted, mama put the plastic flowers that xun gave me for mother's day and my birthday a while ago. If you two gave me one new flower each year, we would soon have a really blooming pot. ha
on one gorgeous afternoon, we headed to the pool. tong...had taken a fancy to jie jie's stuff recently, wearing her old croc pink shoes, her pink hat and jewellery...hmmm
Would you believe it, we stayed there for almost three hours...
Racial harmony day. Xun loved this snug fitting cheongsam, she would not be caught dead wearing those loose fitting traditional dresses
while tong looked regal and splendid in this kingly Chinese costume. Good thing we got these clothes from Rick, and it was the perfect size for tong!
Lounging at T John's house, just 3 more lessons, counting down...lesson learnt - it was easy to quench an interest if it was introduced at the wrong timing
We went for a check up together on one Friday morning as mama's gynae was going on holidays on the original scheduled appointment's date. So...ah gong picked us up from Novena, and we were early, so you went to check out the abandoned railway tracks that used to run to Malaysia ...
Bumped into Tiffy on one Sunday and arranged for an outing to the funfair at the open space outside MBS next week
Eh, the place was not crowded at all, in fact, only a few of the rides were operational...and they were all costly, priced at $5, $6 a ride...what a far cry from the thrill rides and game machines we played in Taiwan
Tong looked rather aghast when the boat started swinging...compared to the gusty jie jie who totally enjoyed the adult Viking ship, mama thought tong was rather...lily-livered. hahahaha...what a nice way of putting it...eh...maybe coz tong was still very young, perhaps he would be even more adventurous than jie jie when he turned 5? Tiffy hugged tong in a bid to comfort him, how sweet. Well, tong gushed that he really enjoyed the ride when he got down. ha
yeh the carousel, never failed to entertain them
off to the helicopter ride, I wondered why they must sit together, could they not take one each, not as if we could be charged just $6 for squeezing into one plane.
I supposed...sometimes, it was the company that mattered...so...yeh...it was more fun doing things with friends
Then off to the jeep ride...ha, not exactly exhilarating, but I supposed fun enough
Wanted to take the tea cup ride but it was not open. While waiting, we spotted a rainbow. Oh and I espied tong's or rather xun's pink crocs.
Papa said many of his friends saw this rainbow all over the island and posted photos of it...What a beautiful sign from God, that He would never ever flood the earth again...a sign of His promise
What a ravishing beauty we had here
ok to the last ride, the merry go round ride since the teacup ride was not operational yet
We asked Xun to help us take a shot of all the adults, tong insisted on being the photo bomb
when he scurried away to see something else, we urged Xun to quickly take another one
Then, a final group shot before we bade farewell. We gave Tiffy the helium balloon and it flew up to the ceiling when we were in the MBS building. oh wellz...
On Youth Day, we were supposed to go to Auntie A's house but she texted mama in the morning that Avery had a fever with cough. Mama was concerned, coz when you two got fever with cough, it meant we would have to take antibiotics all over again...
So we planned a packed day, library first, to come back home at 1230 to open the door for the cleaning auntie, head to Vivocity Singkids and then the trampoline park.
Ready, set, GO! Took the bus, tong slept on the journey there, he had the uncanny knack to sleep anywhere and anytime, like papa...totally envious
Had not been here before so it was at least novel...the usual Singkids systems were there, like this peanut merry go round
climbing structure that led to the slide
the inflatable bouncy castle cum slide
took a photo with the mascots
the spinning axle was spoilt so mama had to do it manually
found a small cube for climbing
Then jie jie asked mama to watch you two play, so I just rested at one spot, while the two of you ran around the structure, trying to play hide and seek with me, popping out from behind the beam every 10 seconds or so, and chortling loudly when I pretended not to see initially and swivelled around at top speed to glare
then up to no good on the merry go round
like being upside down
insisted on taking the butt shot to add to the collection of photos, and confirming with me that I indeed took this cheeky shot
then clinging on to the grip and be dragged around like a log...sigh...papa would surely reprimand you if he was there...
xun tried to do a handstand...eh...fairly ok...
went out of Vivo to eat some snacks. Both of you were awed by this giant tree of flowers.
relaxed by the sea...a pity there were smokers so it was pretty yucky...
the view was serene though...you two kept asking when we could take a ferry...you and all the touristy activities
Somehow, mama went into Harbourfront mall instead of vivocity, and it was a case of serendipity. We found a store selling the DIY food craft Xun had always wanted to try again...
There was an Everbest/Tracee sale at the atrium near the MRT entrance and mama bought a cute pair of red pumps for just $15! Really wonderful as I had been looking and the prices for those comfy pairs were at least $60.
And the kids had great fun trying on shoes...
Yes, we made it to the trampoline park. Sweet relief, I just sat at the seating gallery and you two sprinted off to play
Xun claimed that she invented some new tricks on her own, something about bouncing on her side or what....
there was a really friendly staff whom the kids adored, so they were swarming around him all the time
Could not believe it, but one hour flew by. Papa knocked off at 6 plus and came to fetch us! Hurray. Ended the very eventful Youth Day celebration with food at HomeTeam NS and grocery shopping at NTUC. What a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Down memory lane, when jie jie was a wee baby at months old
and little didi too, at 6 months old.. haha...how fast time had flown...and we were welcoming yet another baby didi into our family soon in Nov. While mama was a little hesitant and apprehensive, mama worried about the stress of taking care of 3, the physical toll of breastfeeding and staying up late, the emotional upheaval of losing the little pockets of free time, attending emotionally to three young kids...papa was optimistic and replied that the sooner didi came, the faster he would be grown up...what kind of logic was that : ) ...but oh yeh...God would bless our little family. Amen.
