(11 Sep 15 Fri) West Coast Park

It was polling day, so mama and papa did not have to work. After casting our votes, we headed to West Coast Park for some outdoor fun. It was the haze season now, but it was still rather clear on that day, phew.

The agile jie jie loved a good challenge, well, she liked climbing poles and these rope-like tangly jungles like mama, heh.

tried the zip line too, ha, but they seemed to be smoother and faster in the past, at least in my memory..ha

tong tried to go on it but chickened out at the last minute, he even rejected papa's kind offer to carry him on it with him.

a really scorching day. Tong decided that he wanted to wear matching clothes with papa after all, ha. We got this Chelsea set like eons ago, meant for 1-2 year old, eh but it fitted tong to a T.

With his complementing blue shades.. wooo hooo, what a dapper looking dude. oh and as a side note, we lost one of tong's croc shoes, it was most baffling. One fine day, we were preparing to go out and we could not find the shoe anywhere...I supposed it might have been mistaken as an unwanted shoe and discarded by the cleaning auntie? SIGH.

The kids took turns to make funny faces

and would have persisted if not for mama urging them to move on

went to the kids' playground and tong pretended to be a daredevil driver, complete with sound effects

and the father-son pair looked like peas in a pod

papa tried to spin jie in the hamster wheel, we saw some kids really flipping to the top!

thought we could locate all these hiding items in the scavenger hunt, but we only found 4. perhaps the others were decoys.

made a din with the musical instruments

on our way to put out a fire

it was really blistering...well...

we took a water break and papa asked if we should head to Mac for snack time, to which the kids enthusiastically chorused, ' YESSSS!"

the cheeky monkey

yeh...soon, it would be 5 of us

the mischievous ones took turns to wear papa's shades

then...we headed home, we took a nap...then went to the pool for a dip. What a welcome relief from the unbearable heat beating down on us

mama's SLA friends came over. Aunt Xinyi, Uncle Keith, Aunt Karen, Uncle Chris, Uncle Kian Choon, Tiffany and Joshua...

the girls had the time of their lives, dressed up as princesses and playing with all the different toys in the room and on the bed and slide

tong had a good time with the girls too, guessed he would probably be a girls' favourite next time?

then they came up with antics like pasting stickers, putting on makeup and accessories

Joshua was a most jovial baby who entertained himself with TOng's tomica car and rocking reindeer for the entire night, a really easy baby.

Yup, Tiffany could not bear to go home and lingered till midnight. Ha...finally we turned in for the night...and woke up to election results that the incumbent party had a landslide victory. Heralding another 5 years of glorious advancement, we put the government in Jesus' hands.

Oh one day at MBS, after church...dined at the foodcourt, the kids always talked about going to the rink once again...

The reason why we asked the kids to pose outside the rink was because we were supposed to hand in some photos of you engaged in sports for the ARISE concert night...eh...hmmm...all these brain racking homework

ha there was a costume play event going on that day and we saw lots of people in strange get-ups...eh. this mascot was not one of them, ha, he was the mascot for a wine brand.

on a Mon, papa knocked off early as he had some team bonding activity and we went to the trampoline park. It was only $20 for 2 hours, papa could go in free, the whole space was empty, how great. Mondays late afternoons were reserved for kids below 11, it was fantastic for us.

well...school holidays was over! Mama was glad to have some peace and quiet when the kids were in school : )

(10 Sep 15 Thurs) JJ came to play and we went to see baby Tim!

So, one very strange night, the kids decided that they wanted to snuggle on jie's upper deck together. It started off quite well, they drank milk, giggled and chatted...jie had a duper late nap on that day and woke up only at 10 pm when mama came to pick her after work, so obviously...she could not get to sleep

tong usually settled in easily but he felt a bit sad and told jie that he wanted to go to the lower deck and snuggle with mama, then the two of you had a tiff, which ended in lots of sobs...and tong came down after all, jie came down too, first sleeping with papa, then squeezing with mama...it was a most arduous night, I was in such a cramped position...I kept waking up whenever each of you stirred..sigh

ha, papa took this from his FB memory.

oh...we dated JJ to go to the Gardens by the bay but it was hazy and his dad was concerned, so we changed the venue. we decided to do some DIY food kit!

tong could not wait, he chose the hamburger set and insisted on opening the box and silver foil...

JJ came! We had lunch and set off to play. Each apprentice took turns under the strict supervision of mama chef to stir the mixtures..

Utterly interesting, we need to bake the fries and burger dough. The fries came out smelling and tasting like potato chips! The patty did somewhat tasted like vegetarian meat. There was even real tomato sauce and fizzy cola soda. I must say, the Japanese really took playing to a superb level, everything was so compellingly like the authentic one, albeit a mini version. YAY, time for munching.

JJ liked the burger and ate it up while the kids just took the fries and yup, you got it, SODA.

then the lollipop box. This was a breeze, just mixed two packets of powder to create a beautiful purple, poured some sweet bits, and the children started their sugar high binge

even mama tasted. The mixture tasted sour, while the crushed sugar bits were scrumptious.

Eh, mama thought we would keep the other lollipop set for another day. The kids decided against playing with the pizza set, so we had a new activity - moon/kinetic/volcanic sand play.

ha, you came up with antics like burying the moulds in the sand for the other person to find

here was the blind cat

then cutting the dough to make meatballs, then hiding funny bits like eyes and hands in an egg-shaped dough (like kinder surprise eggs) and asking Biao shen and mama to crack them open...ha...

well, we had to leave at 3 ish to go and see the gynae...it had been fun with JJ, we could have played ALL day, well, next time perhaps.

we waited for an unusually long time, one hour this time...so the kids found some toys at the toy corner...ha a doctor set. Tong looked so comical in these glasses, he was pretending to give me a jab, OUCH.

jie was tickled and wanted to try too.

the clownish papa joined in the silly fun

so tong was the doctor, jie was the patient. Then jie decided to be the nurse to help the doctor.

Ha, you imitated Dr Chang and told me that I needed to drink lots of milk so that my baby would grow healthy and strong. HA. Well, it would be a good career, but you declared in the doctor's room that you would not want to be one.

After the visit, papa drove us home, the kids had a siesta. Jie watched her movie while tong slept. Tong woke up and behaved peevishly and cried when he discovered that jie had her turn first. GRRRRR...after trying to empathise, mama got fed up and left the room. The very understanding jiejie (who was all accommodating and patient when she was well rested, the epitome of joy in the show inside out) went to tong and talked to him...somehow tong stopped his nonsense and went to watch his movie with jie jie.

Oh papa was at his DnD, we were just at home nuahing. Tm was the polling day, a supposedly watershed moment for there seemed to be deep unrest and dissatisfaction among the residents with the incumbent party...wondered what the result would be like tm? And there seemed to be a fierce fight in our particular constituency. ha...

hols was ending soon...while I liked going out with the munchkins, mama was looking forward to some peace and quiet while you went to school...especially since the days were numbered with didi tim coming soon : ) oh well, cheers to even better days ahead, in Jesus' name, AMEN.
