(23 Oct 15) Arise Night

The night that we had been anticipating...the one you had been rehearsing painstakingly for...

mama had to teach till 7pm on Fri, it was a good thing an ma and ah gong were free to fetch you from Wai po's house to school for rehearsal at 6pm.

we missed the K2 certificate presentation ceremony, good thing we did not miss the other performances

apparently, the K1 presented a song in the very beginning...

then tong tong came out in the first item! He looked so dapper in the blue and white gear, oh and he got a lit up hula hoop too!

tong seemed to have grown up suddenly, he was able to wriggle his butt so cutely and energetically, and knew exactly wherehe was supposed to go...I thought that must have been quite challenging as the dance required them to change positions pretty often...

at one point, ah gong caught a video of him looking around like a meerkat, he must have been trying to locate us...but he quickly resumed his dance and sprinted off

mama loved the point when he pumped his tiny fist into the air, such a determined and sprightly look

it was vastly different from his performance at the National Day celebration where he was pretty stationary most of the time...this sounded really silly, but mama cried...my tong tong had grown...

oh jie jie's item. jie was glad she was not chosen to introduce the item as she claimed that she was sheepish.

papa was glad it was a golf dance item and jie looked so sporty and pretty in her pink top, white pants and high pony tail.

some close-ups

orrrrrr... our beautiful jie jie

tiger's mummy took this close-up, orrrrrrr

afternoon sessions had far fewer students, I thought it was a good thing for the teachers could devote themselves more attentively to the children then...I knew you loved your classmates...

caught jie jie waving enthusiastically as she leapt off the stage

the finale...tong came out and looked like he was going to sob. mama and papa hollered to get his attention but we did not think he could hear us, he must be feeling lost...he seemed ok after the song started and did all the actions dutifully

and we managed to get his attention when he got off the stage, so I guessed he was comforted and no longer afraid.

took photos at the porch while waiting for papa to drive the car over

xun and her best friend, Izabelle

the lone two boys in jie's class

ha and one random photo of xun and tong at papa's company event. Sure looked adorable and cheeky.

tomorrow (mon), the school would be closed and we would go to TMC to check on tim tim again! Could not wait to cuddle the three of you in my arms.

(22 Oct 15 Thurs) Little Planet at Centrepoint

So on Thursday, the two of you had to go to school for the rehearsal from 830 to 1230pm. Well, we certainly could not wake up in time to reach school by 830 but managed to be there at 9, phew. most of your classmates had already changed and put on make-up.

At 1230pm, mama had a good chuckle seeing you in this ghastly make-up...which you apparently liked very much, ha.

the impish tong came out with his hair all gelled up and sprinkled on with glitter...

met JJ and we took 171 to town. Xun chose to sit with JJ and the two were prattling non-stop along the way, even bursting into a raucous rendition of "You raise me up"...gosh...oh somehow, the two of you noticed an elderly man who needed a seat and both of you unanimously decided to squeeze into one seat so that ah gong could sit next to you, nice : )

Reached Centrepoint, which was undergoing massive renovation. Spotted a zoo shop, tong asked to buy the penguin stuffed toys, sigh, you and papa had a huge soft spot for fluffy cuddly things.

Went to the Little Planet Playground, signed up for the promotion package of 12 visits for $200, making each trip about $16.70. It was disappointing at first sight as the place was kind of small, having a few sections for different activities

the fishing corner, so the three of you would take turns to be in the boat and use the wooden rods to reel in the catch to be put into the baskets...nothing fanciful, but you liked it. There were grey stone pillows which looked really like the real deal, that was kind of cute. You piled them into different formations, like in a line, in a pile and sat on them to fish or lie down to rest...

tong told mama not to catch the turtle...maybe he liked turtles

the supermarket corner, like what we saw at Kidsstop. There were delightful trolleys so Aunt Val and I ordered food and you would go shopping and deliver them to us.

Jayron was one and seemed to suddenly develop a mind of his own and could participate actively. He was cruising around, grabbing things and having fun.

a kitchen corner, there was a shelf full of plastic food which was meant for this corner.

jie changed into the bride's dress...she used to be adamant that she would not get married. One day, when we were looking for a necklace, she came across mama's solitaire ring and wedding band. your eyes widened with delight, you were like a magpie, you loved glistening objects...then you mentioned you might change your mind about not getting married

I thought perhaps you were lured by the jewels...ha...you insisted it was not the jewels...but perhaps you would like to have a husband and babies...we tried asking you for the rationale of changing your mind on other occasions, you were sheepish and elusive..one day you mentioned you would have one child...but wait, the child would have no one to play with, perhaps you would have two then...haha

mama had replied before, marriage was a good thing...motherhood was a good thing...they both grew you exponentially, making you die to your selfish, egoistic, entitled self, and taught you the virtues of sacrifice and laying down of your lives for another person...definitely materials for growth in character and one's walk with Jesus

oh a photo and dress-up corner. Jie jie chose the Anna dress and crown. A pity the gowns were really poorly maintained and I thought this place had just started its operations not too long ago. Aunt Val commented that the owner should buy more and prettier gowns on Taobao.

laugh, jie spilt all her chips and was chuckling away. Well, you could see that the chairs were rather adorable, plush and velvety. But you could not see it at all if a child sat on it, quite defeating the purpose of having it as I thought it was a good photography prop. They should have gotten the normal sized regal types.

and the knight who was all gallant (with a shiny sword) and domestic (with his basket of groceries) at the same time, oooo what a catch.

he had to guard his castle day and night

for the king and the queen...with cutesy poses

the king happened to be one domestic guy too...

your favourite corner must be the soil pit. filled up with cassia seeds, they looked like brown grains and there was something oddly satisfying about running your fingers through them...asked the corner and was astonished to learn that they piled some 150kg of seeds in this pit...oh my...

mama goggled and found out that people drank cassia seed tea, and apparently it had loads of nutrients and goodness, not at all cheap though

aunt val and mama were thinking of laying a sheet on the grass patch beneath the MRT tracks so we could mimic this sensorial play...but eh...got to find cheaper alternatives...maybe...green beans? ah...but might just get a reprimand from ah gong and ah ma for playing with food wantonly...ha

the three of you spent an awfully long time at the pit

there was a vegetable patch, but it hardly interested you

we reached at 1 plus and you clamoured to go and play prior to eating lunch...we lingered till 3 and by then mama was famished. Headed to a nearby coffeeshop to have noodles and rice, then came back and the three of you were just loitering around and having some snacks

and the three of you conspired to have these two shots, one with tong not looking on purpose, and the other with only tong looking...GRRRRR

Back to playing again. There were more people in the late afternoon, quite a few ang mohs...and mama was baffled at how they came for an hour and went off...if they did not have the package, each visit would be $25, $25 for an hour? That seemed quite extravagant to me.

Not that I complained, it was good for us, we almost got the whole place to ourselves later on, which was awesome...

tong found a friend to spar with

he looked really adorable with the helmet and shield.

sent the photos to papa and he commented we should buy a knight's costume for little tong tong

well the knight had to guard the farm too

well, just us and one little girl left at the playground, the romantic pair gazed at stars and ate bananas as they sailed down the river

only to be gate crashed by photo bombs...hahaa

ok time to say good bye. We left at 650! spent the entire afternoon there, somewhere close to 5 hours with only a short interlude, how cool was that. I did not imagine we could have spent so much time at one tiny playground.

the pair was attempting to make a heart shape with their hands...eh...quite futile...

had Japanese food with JJ's parents, dad dad came to join us...a most satisfying dinner...and home we went. ahhhh...looking forward to exploring more places with JJ in the holidays, and with Tim tim in tow...tim tim...almost Nov!
