Well, previously mama mentioned that you kids decided to sleep in the kids' room and I thought you were finally, absolutely ready to move out. Erm...shrug, we went to San Yi's house to play the raving rabbids game, and one particularly frightened xun xun. That one had the rabbids as thieves and I did not even think it was as scary and morbid as the ones in the cemetery game.
since then, you were afraid of sleeping on the upper deck alone and chose to sleep on the pink mattress in between papa's and tong's mattress...oh well...papa was right to say that you were not alarmed by the ghostly rabbids coz you knew they were fake. But thieves were real...and you worried that they might really come to Linear and harm you.
And the next thing we knew, we were all back in the master bedroom and snuggled up together sleeping on the queen-sized bed again. heh heh heh. when tim tim arrived, we would switch places, tim would take the outer edge, mama, tong and you in the middle then papa. hopefully it all worked out.
forgot san yi or er yi who posted this on the chatgroup and remarked how it looked like dashing tong tong...except..eh...tong preferred his relaxed and 邋遢 gear mostly and would not wear such crisp shirts with pants...
another day on the bus...with the heavily pregnant mama...people were really nice, they always gave up their seats for us...most people anyway, and we thanked God for them and blessed them
Oh there was the F1 race in town so we skipped church and went to the Bird Park. The haze was really terrible this year, often in the unhealthy high 100 range...good thing we got to the Bird Park on a relatively clear day.
well, tong adored the penguins, for some unknown reason...so he checked out the ones in the air con enclosure in the beginning, then the one in the sun at the end of the trip.
papa penguin and his little chick
oh and another pretty chick
took the tram, brought papa to feed the lorries
well, we were all pretty slothful, preferring the comfort of the tram
birds of prey and tong asked for a picture of the vultures
of course, we spent an awfully long time at the water play...it was raining on and off, that did not deter the water babies who simply frisked in the rain. oh xun and tong had gotten braver and dared to stand under the gigantic bucket this time round. Tong would turn his back to the bucket and covered his eyes to shield himself from the onslaught...xun simply stood beneath and waited...good that you two were more daring now
would have played for an even longer time if not for the lightning alert and the staff closed up the area
this time, we prepared our own food, MAC. yeah..so we needed not eat at the exorbitant restaurants in the park. just lingering around and taking the joy rides...as usual, papa made the kids agree to pay for the rides and jie jie almost sneakily tried to make tong tong pay for a larger portion...tsk tsk
Well...that night, papa wanted to throw away the terraniums as there were wriggly worms in them...jie was not distressed with the loss of the plants...but the jewels...ha...eh...but they were covered in soil ...so mama did not fancy digging them out and washing them...so a blubbering jie took a picture with them to seal the memory
in the middle of the night, jie developed stomach flu. Mama fed her vomiting and stomach medicine but she still vomited violently. Papa brought her to the 24 hour clinic and came back with that pill that had to be inserted in the anus. Alas, mama thought the doctor would have done it, but mama had to do it and you knew how squeamish jie was...sigh...but we put baby lotion and the deed was done and jie could finally sleep peacefully...
ah ha...Monday, we stayed at home...jie was all cheery and her usual self in the morning. We went to daiso with a sleeping tong, he was unusually sleepy as he had a rough night too with jie being sick.
sent these pics to papa and he declared she must be well.
oh random pictures of the book "sacred marriage" that mama was reading. I thought too many people took a good marriage as a natural thing that happened between two persons who were right for each other...and did not realise that a good marriage was built painstakingly, with conscious intent and undying commitment...so...and you knew how mama loved to gain knowledge and read...I could never comprehend why people did not read, there was such a wealth of knowledge and truths to be glimpsed from others' experiences...
even for parenting...mama read voraciously, I could learn to be a better mama, I knew I could pick up skills on how to communicate better...I could never stop learning...
Oh this was shot at san yi's house. we went on a public holiday and intended to stay for lunch but ended up spending the whole day, some 8plus hours? hahaha...
and this was what FB prompted me with that day...oh my chubby gucci gucci baby...oh jie jie was into puns recently. There was a day when mama was late and she asked why. I said I was caught in a jam with ah gong and she cheekily retorted, "peanut butter strawberry jam?" so I taught her such a play on words was called a pun. Then she came up with witty things like, we were going to see cool Dr Khoo, he was so cool. laugh... and dotty jokes like the cat liked purple coz purrrrrrr... and mentioned that the cat got tong's tongue when he was especially quiet on one car journey home...
oh and tong displayed such a remarkable grasp of the language too. He could speak long proper sentences and even exclaimed, "It is raining cats and dogs!" on one rainy day
oh we went to celebrate Mid autumn festival at the CC and saw this stilt walker...coolllll...wished we could have gone back to Hwa Chong for MAF...but it was really hazy on most days..
and tong demanded to cut his hair as papa had just cut his. So we went to the $10 shop...mama sat on the chair and made tong queue up on his own
and he dutifully did so and did not leave his seat as he knew someone could take his place
jie went to play with him...had no idea what they were up to...except they were real logger heads at times..
finally in the last seat...when you two were on amicable terms, you could be the best bosom buddies...
and so the cute little tong cut his hair
and looked all charming and devastatingly handsome after that
then on another day, while on the way home, we saw the glittering lights at Little India and papa gamely agreed to drive through..
it was really dazzlingly beautiful.... checked out the peacock and lions...
oh and we bought these from taobao, the whole set of emotions from the movie "inside out". one was selling for $20 at kiddy palace but mama got the whole set for S$20 plus inclusive of shipping! Cool or what. heh...well, we role played with the characters, mama was fear, papa was disgust...eh...tong and xun were fighting over joy and I was surprised that tong let xun have joy but did not probe.
later on, papa revealed he witnessed how jie persuasively and sneakily told tong that he could have joy. Then she would have anger and sadness and joy would have to pull sadness around. Then she asked tong if he would like to have TWO dolls instead, and she could use joy to pull sadness around instead...and yes, the naïve tong fell for the ruse...oh well... all was well...
the two rascals loved receiving parcels and would go zany and excited whenever they heard the buzzer ring. earlier in the day, a parcel came but it was just our order of milk powder. xun and tong peered into the box to double check that it was really JUST milk powder. Then in the evening, this loot arrived and we spent a few hours opening up the parcels and packing...yes, mama truly enjoyed receiving parcels too
got this new craft, it was like a jelly bead stick substance that was easier to use and clean up than sand art. this was tong's...albeit mostly done by mama
xun did two..and chose this coz she claimed it was tong and her
utterly proud of her work
we also baked cookies before that and the silly tong put his lips so near to the tray that he burnt his lips...a good lesson for him
ah, one of the buys from taobao...matching cat tees...tong still mentioned about going back to Taiwan to buy the cat that jie jie lost...
and the kooky ones requested for photos, eh and tong loved to pretend that he was asleep, for some unexplainable reason
it was children's day at CHURCH. look at the décor. It was stupendous. You two had been raring to go for this service as mama told you that there would be a party and presents! Nothing could make you perk up your ears like the word 'presents'.
well, we had lots of fun taking photos.
there were even mascots.
you two played games during the service...tong got a water bottle but jie's one was still a surprise at this point of time. We were to claim the present at end Oct.
one of the few photos showing mama's ample belly. as of now, it was the 35th week..yes...tim was gonna come out soon. Xun was both ecstatic and hesitant. Well, you could not believe he would be coming out in 4 weeks' time, on the other hand, it meant you would get the "presents" tim was supposed to bring...hahah
oh that day, we saw a blue and another pink dragonfly at the school pond. Tong was delighted by it. Subsequently, we only saw the pink one. It was not daunted by our presence and landed so near to us. What a pretty sight.
eh another photo request, eh...yup he was pretending to have dozed off again.
well, on this fine day, tong decided that it was dapper to go out in different crocs. along the way, on the bus, he started to have misgivings and blathered about how he was embarrassing...then at school, he launched into sobbing fits about how embarrassing it was. mama tried to empathise...then launched into a tirade of how he made his own decisions and he got to bear the consequences. Hope it taught him a lesson not to be so cuckoo all the time.
went to the library and xun claimed she was the mama and pulled the trolley.
my bright and cheerful morning stars. oh and tong made up a funny song to the tune of "I hear thunder" one day when he woke up and found papa gone. He sang, "where is papa, where is papa, he is at golf, he is at golf." papa lamented how you two got your barmy traits from mama, and how we could make up queer stories, songs and tommyrot (ah, another big word I came across which meant nonsense. how very amusing)
well...very soon, we would have a new member...5 of us...the number of grace...it would be really glorious...the 5 of us, nestled in Jesus' arms, knowing how much we are loved and forgiven...and how truly utterly greatly we are blessed.
and mama's love for you never changes...it grows and stretches, it never ceases nor tires... I love you, my two bright and chirpy morning stars...and soon another star would be lighting up our lives...
Love you to bits.
