Came across this that day and sent it to papa. Papa was not too sure that he could actually let go and have the heart to let the two of you take risks...but mama always reasoned the more practice you had now with relatively simpler decisions...when you were older, you would exercise good judgment.
the long weekend for the New Year. Decided to go to Botanic Garden as tong tong really wanted to see the swans at the lake. We even packed a loaf of stale bread to feed the animals there.
Parked at the Jacob Ballas side and it was raining cats and dogs. We had dated er yi and er yi zhang to come for a picnic, but seeing the torrential downpour, we told them to detour.
this tree had funny decorations - dinosaur figurines! oh and tong tong was into dinosaurs at this point of time.
what a very pretty butterfly mosaic feature.
the wet weather did not dampen our spirits one bit. We valiantly soldiered on and caught the legendary black swan.
the rain was relentless so we sought refuge in the nearby pavilion which was packed with other picnic goers too. good thing we had packed lunch so we had really delicious hawker fare while we waited for the rain to abate. Well, after an hour, the rain still did not let up...so we headed to ah ma's house instead.
ah ma and her darling koala bear. We called ah ma his eucalyptus tree.
The theme for the year 2016. That we would go into the promised land and possess all of God's promises. No more wandering in the wilderness. The only fight was to fight the good fight of faith, to declare that Jesus had finished payment for our sins when the devil taunted us. Verse to keep in mind when things got tough, "The battle is the Lord's!"
didi was growing up beautifully, he had much favour and was a really easy and cheerful baby.
we discovered the new playground on the top floor of bukit panjang plaza. We even made a friend that day, Aunt Shani and her kids, Matthew and Isabelle, and they were going to Arise too!
We had redeemed some Billy Bombers' vouchers so we headed to the one at Clarke Quay to have dinner with papa.
As it was near jie's birthday, FB popped up many old photos taken during her birthday - like this one when she was a wee 3!
and this was when she was an adorable two.
and this when we were in United States...hmmm mayb jun jun looked like jie jie, coz she did look like a little handsome boy in this photo eh?
Had a celebration at school, the kids were jubilant to have cakes and gifts and jie was absolutely beaming from ear to ear.
tong came to join too! Was so glad that the school was always so accommodating.
Well, the same old class of 11 kids - 9 girls 2 boys.
we would be celebrating tong's birthday soon!
and on that same Friday, we invited JJ to come over to swim and eat with us! Ha. Of course, your favourite Streats restaurant again!
The kids were really chummy. JJ declared that xun was his first favourite cousin and tong a close second favourite!
Celebrated on Sat at Marzuki with the usual people
on the actual day itself! Uncle Zhiqiang's wedding at Peach Garden, so xun got her wish of celebrating with all her cousins after all!
well mama was at the kids' table...
they finished their food earlier than the rest, so they got restless and were running amok and making such a fracas. mama was delivering a hilarious twisted version of "three little pigs" to entertain them.
Uncle Mike came to check out why the kids were so obedient
ha, the brood was getting bigger and bigger
mama wished she could be more photogenic...haha
thankful for our bundles of joy
What a great bliss to have an extended family which was so tightly knitted.
Blessed Birthday, Sweetheart. You are our joy and delight. You are the sweetest gift from heaven. We thank God for blessing us with an angel every single day of our lives. We pray over you that you grow in favour and wisdom, that you would continue to shine your sparkly light and be that exuberant chirpy little bird with the twinkle in your eyes...we love you very very much, all the way to God and back.
