(Aug 18) Kidzania

Ha, how blessed we were to have Uncle Xingshun as a friend. He gave us free tickets to Kidzania for two days! So, Tong played truant again, and we headed to Kidzania with Jie Jie after school.

First job for Jun! Police Officer

The ticket allowed Jun to participate too as it was a full-priced child ticket. Heh. Though he wss barely three, seeing that he was well-behaved and with two older siblings, the staff let him in. Had you ever seen such a dashing police officer?

They were supposed to ask bystanders to stay away while the fire fighters put out the fire.

Next: Abbots. They got free milk packets. Yum Yum.

Their favourite job: Though they had to pay to join this activity, they gladly did it as they LOVED the rainbow paddle pop ice cream!

Look at his serious demeanor. He was all ready to go to school.

Ha, a new job. Tile laying worker.

Well, it was crowded and we did not manage to do a lot of the activities but had a whale of a time. At Vivocity and saw the adorable Tsum Tsum lanterns! Oh MY.

Second Day: On the way to Kidzania. Ah, it was a good thing that he had a siesta.

Wow, first job: Mattress tester. ha...I wished I could apply for this job. You could literally....sleep on the job. I sent this photo to my sisters and they all wished that they could get such a job too.

How comfy. Ha, gor was not here as he was at the stadium playing soccer with some other boys.

The siblings parted ways. Jie wanted to get a degree at The Learning Lab establishment, Tong was still playing soccer, and the 7-11 shop was empty so Jun went in. heh.

He had the place all to himself and the staff was so attentive and patient with him as Jun packed the goods that were not in order.

ah, next one. Maybank security officer.

The staff was so sweet to him, she went around with him to deliver packets of money to different establishments.

What a valiant little security officer.

Giggles...the youngest fire fighter ever. Jun loved fire engines...the fire stations...fire dogs...Marshall in Paw Patrol...he was so delighted to be doing this job.

Boarded the fire engine

Using the hose to shoot water at the "fire"

Ah, successful!

Jie came to look for us and they went to the bak kwa store. I wished they gave real samples, that would have been so great! hahaha.

The big ones were pharmacists.

The small one became a delivery boy for the water treatment company.

And yeah...the last job was...at the ice cream establishment again! Yum Yum. We made it the last stop so that we could eat the ice cream in a relaxed way and not gobble it up like what they did yesterday as they wanted to try the floor-tiling job before Kidzania closed.

Well...it was really fun. So thankful that our friends always bless us with goodies and always keep us in their minds.

Updates: oh Jie was playing very well in soccer. She had a friendly match today and the coach said she was "Man of the Match". Hahahha. She was really proud of herself.

Not all days were rosy though. One night, Jie was reading in the room and the door was left ajar. Tong questioned her why she did not close the air as the air-con was switched on and she petulantly answered that she simply did not want to do so. So I was mad and chastised her for not helping out as she should and being a considerate member of the family.

In other happier news, Tong asked if it was possible that I did not have to work so hard to mark papers (I was marking papers into the wee hours often). I told him that we would have to cut down on expenses and we could not do many things which we now enjoyed. He said it was ok. They would not buy so many toys. I said we could only go to nearby countries and he asked about Taiwan and Hibiscus. He said Hibiscus was expensive at $200 a night. I asked how about he saved up and treated us and he readily agreed. That sweetheart.

Shocking news: Mama was pregnant with the 4th baby. Ha...it was God's plan, it was given by God. The new baby affected our plans to convert the two rooms into three, to change to a smaller sedan car...of our 3-month vacation in the UK, sigh, we had to shorten it. If God gives, it must be for a glorious reason. Both Jun and Xun wanted a girl while Tong was rooting for a boy. Ha...we would find out about the gender next week. We prayed for the baby to be healthy and beautifully made in God's image and for the entire journey to be peaceful and blissful. Amen.

(Aug 18) The Garden Festival 2018 at GBTB + random photos

So Biaogu managed to get cheaper tickets for us to attend the Garden Festival. It was our first time going for the festival.

There were interesting exhibits.

The kids learnt that caterpillars are fussy eaters and will only eat leaves from certain plants that they like. They even got cute free craft made from pandan leaves!

It was quite scorching outside.

They were relieved to enter the gigantic cool tent which housed enormous exhibits created by garden enthusiasts and sculptors from all over the world.

Always smitten with the breathtaking scenery

We rented a pram for Jun as he was asleep when we arrived at the place. Good thing that it only cost $2! Jun was lounging and relaxing in it for the entire trip.

More displays.

There was even one that had a raining structure and lighting flashes so it felt like we were caught in a thunderstorm.

Indoor greenery. Wow, I wished we had green fingers, but even a cactus died on us. so...eh...no...

I was quite fascinated by the exhibits but the kids were not exactly enthralled.

Went into the Flower Dome. Peranakan themed displays.

Loved the quaint shophouse facades.

Ha, fluffy clouds with orchids suspended in the air

Oooo the intricately handcrafted beaded shoes.

Little teapots!

Oh Xiaoyi had finally graduated from university! We bought a lovely bouquet of blooms for her. ah...the little boy looked so charming with the flowers.

Aunt Melody and her boyfried bought this in Japan and gave it to papa as it bore his name, Wan Yuan. Ha. I gobbled up the cuttlefish.

At church.

At soccer.

Ah, on the way to Jie's school

Mummy at her D&D. The theme was "Around the world" so my table dressed up in various countries' jerseys and one colleague painted on our faces. Cool eh?

Papa could handle the three kids on his own now. So while mama was enjoying herself with adult company at the D&D, the kids and Papa were playing PS4 games at home! Well, Jun started missing mama as he was getting sleepy. So papa carried him to wait for me at the train station. ha.

We went to the zoo with papa. The boys went to check out the reptile enclosure and jie went to this new climbing activity.

This intrepid adventurer!

As I was blogging, I was printing Tong's story so that I could mail a copy to Aunt A and let her edit it. Yay, in the final stages of editing and we could send it for printing! Hurray!
