(Mar 19) Emmelyn's first month at home

It was the first time Mama had a confinement nanny and it was really a good experience. Aunt Qin took good care of mei mei and me and fed me well...Mei mei grew rapidly in the first month and gained 1 kg.

She was so tiny at first, she could not fill up those teeny rompers and had such a comely v-shaped face with rosy cheeks.

Eh...auntie used the beautycam app, so it made mei mei look rosier and fairer than she really was...hahah...how deceptive

Time flew and mei mei turned 1 week old in a blink of an eye

Loved her doleful eyes...wai gong and wai po commented that she looked like tong tong initially

She could smile and coo cutely...she totally captured everyone's heart

You would notice that she wore lots of clothing with the unicorn on it as we called her our unicorn baby. Well...we never planned for mei mei and it was under rather inexplicable (miraculous?) circumstances that she was conceived...

She had a chirpy personality, Auntie commented that she seemed to be a playful little girl. heh

She loved to sleep with her arms up

and give her signature pouty look

Her sharp chin was slowly vanishing...hahaha

She really enjoyed smiling for the camera eh?

1st attempt at taking a passport photo...What a thug look

Jun went through a difficult phase. Auntie A bought him a book titled " I don't want Mei Mei anymore" and he seemed to identify with the character very much. 1.5 months from the date Mei was born, we were glad that Jun had got over the phase and loved Mei Mei fiercely.

He loved lying next to the little unicorn and putting his arm on her body in a hug.

Mama bought lots of cute rompers from Taobao. Luckily, because Taobao's things were so affordable, or rather, Mama was an extremely savvy shopper who sniffed out all the pretty clothes at amazing prices...so buying a mountain of them did not make that much a dent in her pocket...yup...mama paid for all the frivolous clothing purchases from her own pocket..

and mama was enamored with tutu rompers...though they were really impractical for it made one scratchy when carrying her...but they made such good photos, didn't they?

2nd attempt at the passport photo. Still a thug.

Mei wore this on the first weekend after confinement to Ah Ma's house. She chuckled when she saw the words. We covered her legs with a muslim cloth and it covered part of the words and it read "My grandma is crazy" ahahhahahahahha.

The kids loved to hang out with Auntie.

Yeah they really loved Auntie's cooking. We had somewhat of a routine...mama would bring mei to sleep with the rest at 830, then bring mei to auntie at 4am...

Auntie caught Jun playing peekaboo with Mei mei

I hoped mei mei would be able to join in the fun really soon...

Well, the littlest two should form a natural pair since they spent a lot of time tog while the big ones went to school...

Er YI came to visit us!

Yeah, one more girl to the gang

Our little unicorn was putting on flesh steadily...she really reminded us of jie jie

The boys fought to carry her...eh...but they could only last for a few minutes..but mei could sleep in jie's embrace while she read...as usual, she always had her nose in some book...

One night when he was so tired, he snuggled in the beanbag and slept.

Notice how the boys were in similar sleeping poses? I found them in various similar sleeping poses all the time...it was most uncanny. Papa said they would win the top prize in the synchronized sleeping contest. ha...papa had such a funny sense of humour.

We still took time to play at the playgrounds...

Auntie brought the 3 kids to the food court for lunch...

papa brought the kids to Temasek Club for a swim...and a most indulgent lunch.

Oh boy...they were really tired after the swim

It was great to have cousins. Yay...we had a total of 8 grandkids in the Lu Family now.

Aunt recorded mei's routines faithfully...

Cooked really nutritious meals for me

We treated her to dinner at Plaza on Monday night. I was really sad...I wept buckets on Sunday at the thought of not having her around...

Having cried so bitterly for the entire Sunday, I felt a tad better on Monday. I guessed I needed the mourning time...I did not think I would be able to handle all 4 kids...they would probably drive me crazy...

We would miss her so dearly...

Left a review for Auntie on the agency's FB page...

Random photos of Jun

who no longer was the baby of the family and had a tough time adjusting to his new role

relieved to say that the worst was over...he tried helping out at home and was more responsible...helping to keep the toys and started using the potty

Our first photo and outing by ourselves!

This was the encouraging message on my handphone cover. Thought I thought I would not be able to take care of 4 kids by myself....it turned out OK! Wai po cooked dinner for us and ah gong ferried the kids from school and bought lunch for us...we managed to go to the malls and library a few times...

Auntie even came to visit us today (11/4/19), some 2 weeks after she left! Gosh had it been only 2 weeks? It felt like we had been on our own for a long time...and that mei mei had been with us all along...we were settling in our little routine...some days were bad...some days were good...we thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful family and awesome extended family support.
