Oct 2020 (When life resumed some form of normalcy)

I hated my iphone. It always stored the photos in a non-chronological order. I had no patience and no time to sort it out...so I would just write according to the order the photos appeared on this post...

At the point of writing, it was March 2021. Almost a year into this new normal brought about by the COVID pandemic, everyone was seen donning the mask wherever we went. The saving grace was being able to meet in groups of 4. We could also dine out as a family again!

Jie with her many awards. We were so proud of her. In every new and challenging situation, she had risen to the occasion and amazed us with her tenacity and determination to excel...Good job, Jie Jie.

The fashionista spending time with papa at night. She went through this crazy teenage phase of sleeping way past midnight (sometimes as late as 2am) and waking up when it was noon. I thought she had finally gotten over the crazy phase now that she had turned two...alas, she did drop one nap and was down to one nap a day, but she would still sleep at 2am on some days...gosh, our little teenage mei mei

eh.. a very cute one though...she was a wild card, she refused to be disciplined or tamed...

Mama really could not handle her...whenever I scolded her or let her cry in distress when I refused to give in to her demands (e.g. refusing to eat dinner, wanting to have snacks, not wanting to brush her teeth, drawing on the table, destroying things - she had broken my phone and xun's tablet), the big ones would swoop in to her rescue and try to cheer her up. Roll eyes.

Wai po was very proud of her ability to cut mei's hair into a bob style. She said mei looked so cute in this  bob style.

"Whiizzzz. the world is my oyster!"

Who could resist that cherubic face?

We went to Jurong Lake Garden with the triplets! Hurray for cousins.

She liked to lie on the floor and mope at times...very emo...she also liked to hide behind the master bedroom toilet door. This morning, while I was vacuuming, she sat on the base of the white fan and appeared very subdued...

A trip to the beach...had not gone there for a long time...and mei had already grown so big

Ha our jiejie as a mermaid a few years ago..

and the newer edition..hahah

Fun in the sand, sea and sun

Wow, a dashing Korean star in the making?

Hello, little mermaid!

Well, it looked like a gigantic whale is pursuing a little shrimp...

playing with bubbles at the drain outside ah ma's house...tong had been catching fish with ah gong recently. Tong had an amazing ability to recall animal facts and names. Once, we were at the fish pet shop with the triplets and tong said that the fish in the tank was a snakehead. We did not believe him but googled for the image anyway and it turned out that he was right!

the rascal could scoot pretty well

This was she when her hair was longer

Watching TV with her beloved jie jie...there was once when I held her very tightly so that I could brush her teeth against her will and she started yelling for Jie Jie to come and rescue her. She certainly knew whose kindness to milk. Well...this little brat...whenever she wanted to eat a snack, I would remind that she had to brush her teeth, and she always nodded yes.

Ah...my bed my bed...

So cute

Oh when she was smaller

Oh Tong Tong's friends came over to play!

The cute little pea

Who always bullied Ge Ge...and she always called him Di Di and we had corrected her umpteenth times...

At Sugnei Buloh with Ah Gong...it started to rain when we were half-way through the hike...arghhh

Oh chilling with You You at Waipo's house

I could not recall where we were going

Jie and her pink Christmas tree. we did not set it up this year for fear that the crazy wild card would destroy it...besides, we could not have our annual cousins' gathering and there was not much of a festive cheer due to the pandemic...

Ah...memories...when mama was young...and carefree

Our peas in a pod in matching colours

Ah...she was into sunglasses at one point...weird gal

Oh a reverse poem that Jie wrote. Thought I would put it here so that she could read it when she was older...and feel amazed at what she could write when she was younger? I re-read some of the essays I wrote when I was in uni when I was packing the storeroom some years ago. I was amazed at the things I wrote. I did not think that I was capable of producing such mature and well thought-through essays...well...so what had happened to my sharpness of mind, wit and intellect?

Mama bought a lot of Juicy clothes...from Amazon in the past, and Taobao currently...hahah coz Mei mei was such a juicy little girl, one would be tempted to sink his teeth into her fleshy, succulent thighs..

the imp

"You are so sweet, as sweet as an ice cream..."

ah...jie and papa had a "Save the soft toys" operation...a covert one...initially...duh...hahaha we planned to renovate the house in June and I told the kids we were going to get rid of a lot of things...

Oh Jie Jie when she was barely one and in the USA...

They did look alike, didn't they...How come their temperaments were so different?

Playing with others at the playground...

Oh we made popsicles at home

Added jelly bears too

Ah...the crazy one finally fell asleep

It was always fun to be with one's cousins!

They came up with the physical version of "Among Us", one of the hottest games among the youngsters now. They had to do random tasks, then one of the mums would shout "Sabotage" and the imposter would go around to kill the innocent...and when sabotage was over, they would gather to discuss whom they should boot out of the camp...haha

All the children looked like angels when they were asleep...

Mei took this photo of papa...not too bad...

Gosh, messy hair day

I loved her chubby cheeks...

Well, she could sleep anywhere...she really loved lying on the floor. This afternoon, she was lying on the rainbow mat...she did behave like a little kitten...always slinking around quietly, demanding people to give in to her whims like a queen...

Oh that day when we were in the car, she actually pretended to be asleep and was so good at it that we were all fooled! This audacious darling. She had the makings of a tricksters. We only found out when she started chuckling...hahah

Oh...papa would be heartbroken on the day of your marriage...but well, if you would marry well, he should be ecstatic, shouldn't he?

Papa's little lover

yes..you liked to hug hard toys...like that talking toy rabbit, the blue baby shark...and this creepy Allie...but we had removed the voice box...hahaha

Went to Jewel with papa

Staycation at Andaz Hotel

My goodness, the last I blogged was in Oct and it was already March...well....life as we knew was not the same ever again since the pandemic started.. When would we be able to travel overseas? God, God, God, may your hand be on  our planet and may the pandemic end really soon.
