(July 2021) Living at Marzuki

Well, we were always going to the playground opposite Ah Ma's house. This was our favourite haunt. Once a week, we would walk to the MRT station to buy bubble tea.

A swing for all to use.

National Day was around the corner. Gor Gor needed a photo with the flag for his school homework.

Dedicating most of the blog post to Mei's antics.

She was getting increasingly cheeky. There was once when she said 52 when she saw the digits 25. I wondered if she really knew her numbers? She could count from 1 to 10. When we were playing "I spy", I gave a P word and she shouted, "Pop it!"

We talked about writing a book of puns for her and she said, "Punch, punch, punch" while banging her fists against each other. She remembered the storyline in Jun's book and went "ooo oooo ah ah" when I said that "she'd gone bananas" on another occasion

She loved to wear my shoes and could fall asleep anywhere...what a talent..

She loved baby Dylan. When she got too noisy, we would say, "Baby Dylan is..." and she would continue, "sleeping" in a very soft voice. Even when she was having bad dreams and was whining in the night while half-asleep, I said that and she continued with "sleeping". Ha. When we moved back to The Linear, the boys still taunted her with this phrase whenever she got too carried away and started yapping loudly...

Mei was a sweet baby. I was drying my hair, she saw the strands on the hair and took a piece of tissue for me to clear them away. I guessed she must have noticed me doing it before.

Once, she peeked at Jie in the shower and Jie threatened to splash water at her. She ran off and retorted with "not funny".

Recently, she added "xiao" to all our names. I was "Xiao ma ma". Jie claimed that we should not allow her to disrespect us by adding "xiao" and hugged her tightly and said she would not let her go unless she called us using our proper names. Mei called "Jie", got released, ran off, looked back and taunted Jie with "Xiao Jie Jie".

She knew her colours...

loved the song "Heads, shoulders, knees and toes"...except that she would only touch her head and go straight to her toes...

Said "no" to things that she did not like, like brushing of her teeth....but she was slowly coming around to it..she really needed to patch up that hole between her two front teeth

Often came up to say "I love you mama"

Took 3 packs of snacks to the playground when I told her to pack snacks. When asked if they were for her, Jun and me, she said yes. She liked to shout "mine". She loved to play with Grand Uncle Brian...

When she followed me to work when ah gong drove me there, she never cried and would say bye when I got off... she was in a teenage phase when we were staying at Ah Ma's house...she would sleep at 2 am..and wake up at 11am the next day... Some mornings, she would feel lazy and wake up only to fall back asleep as seen in these photos...she would roll around on the bed and find a comfy spot...

Being an expressive girl, she had a mind of her own and said she wanted to go to waipo's house when I asked if she wanted to start school. I pressed on, saying that she could play at school. She coolly replied that she could go to the playground. Very logical thinking. Very witty indeed.

She seemed to have an amazing vocab. Once, she asked where Gege was. Me: At school. Mei: Gor Gor? Me: At school. Mei: Jie? She vanished.

I was impressed. I asked her who taught her the word 'vanished' and she claimed it was Jie but Jie refused to claim the credit, declaring she never did that.

Said something to her, probably apologising or explaining some issues and she replied, "No problem, Mummy." Where did she learn these mature expressions from? Was this really our 2.5 year old cutie pie?

This sassy lass had a sweet tooth and simply loved gummies and jellies...and once had a fruit feast at 1.36am, gorging herself silly on longans and grapes...

At the seed playground in Hillion Mall

Went to City Sq Mall with Jie jie

See, what a wonderful way to relax at the beach...sleeping away

while papa and mama feasted

She saw this photo of Jun and claimed it was Dylan. All the baby photos were photos of Dylan. haha

Outing with the triplets!

Shopping at IKEA

The never-ending antics of our littlest one

Who brought us lots of laughter...

a most spunky personality...very feisty indeed...always snatching Xiao Ge Ge's toys

She called Jun "Xiao Ge Ge" and Tong "Xiao Gor Gor". It was cute that she named them differently.

She was one to sing her own tune...certainly a colourful character

Ha, Jie Jie in the photo. Peas in a pod?

The sumptuous dinners that Mama cooked during those 11 weeks

And the last water balloon fight we had at Marzuki

totally spectacular

Playing with the hose...

Colluding against Papa

The poor lass

Look at the sheer number of balloons we had

Papa was promoted to LTC

Anniversary...

Well...at the point of writing this, we had moved back to The Linear for 10 days. We loved the house very much...and would endeavour to keep it clutter-free so it would always look so beautiful...

The pandemic was ravaging the earth...we prayed for better days to come...had not travelled for 1.5 years...could not wait for the time when we could travel to Malaysia for shopping trips...and far-flung countries like the USA to see Grandma Joanne and relatives living there...

It would be nice to go to Taiwan to visit Lan Shu Shu too...

God is in control. Good will prevail. Let us wait with confident expectation.
