woooo some 30ish people turned up. Almost the full force. We even met Aunt Sheena's boyfriend.
Ah...the kids were up to no good in the room..
Good food galore
One of the highlights - dressing Xiaoshu up as Santa!
Did not even need to stuff a pillow as a tummy...all natural
Ok a neat photo of everyone with their presents
Unwrapping time!
We had three big bags of wrapping paper trash.
Someone gave Dylan Papa Smurf!
SECOND Highlight - The Wacky Lucky Draw - Mama made the grandaunts be the VIPs to hand out the prizes. Hilarious moments - Aunt Lindy and her sisters revealed something about their mummy and Aunt Karen acted it out, eliciting lots of laughter. Ah... would you believe it? Mei got the toilet paper prize and talked about it for weeks, saying how it made Mama soooo happy. Funny twist: Mama had wanted to get rid of some rolls coz Papa did not like the 2-ply ones. ha
THIRD HIGHLIGHT - The $2 Lucky Draw Pick! You had to contribute $2 notes, take a photo of the serial number and the note was your lucky draw ticket!
Another hilarious moment: Ah Ma being introduced as the VIP to give out the prize - Papa provided the description - That Ah Ma loved to work, collect degrees and ask TO SEE THE MANAGER (and amazingly some of his cousins chanted this in unison and they did not even arrange it beforehand! I guess Ah Ma's I WANT TO SEE THE MANAGER antics must have been nothing short of memorable.
Bei Gor won the pot! Some $30 ish...
Ah...and the happy man counting the money
LAST HIGHLIGHT - Next up, the pinata game for the kids...well the adults went off to have a cup of coffee and tea at the dining area, now able to have a relaxing moment after an entertaining program...ha but this apparently was amusing to the old folks and some of them lingered to watch the kids play
Small to big
and Dylan wanted to join too
Gosh, the swarm of candy-loving kids descending upon the goodies like locusts - SCARY
We found the perfect spot for a group photo
A resounding success. There was much fun and laughter...and bursts of hilarity... YAY a fantastic end to 2022 with our celebrating Christmas with our precious extended family on Christmas itself.
A great 2023 ahead, folks!
