WIMBLY LU
Godma's birthday was in Feb, but due to the CNY season, we had to postpone the celebration till March. Mama had wanted to have a leisurely lazy afternoon at a chic café, Wimbly Lu, near her house and have a heart-to-heart talk sans noisy grubby kids. Sigh....but tong insisted that he wanted to follow...
sigh, so after church, mama brought xun and tong to the café while daddy could skive and go to some mall nearby to have some alone time and a hair cut. This was thoroughly unfair.

tong checked out a dark toy corner which had some old books and vehicles...
the place was cozy and done up prettily
we ordered a molten lava cake with ice cream, to xun's delight, and an orange cake for tong (he had such queer taste).
God ma was trying to find xun's baby photo..ha
She had a fun time having guessing games with Godma, while tong decided to snuggle for a little snooze
To D'Leedon for a playdate
After school, Lian Yiyi came to pick us up. We were amused that her daughter was also called tong tong, so the elder sister came up with this ingenious solution of calling our tong tong, "tong tong B" for boy, and their tong tong. "tong tong G" for girl. Tong replied that he was a baby...so we concluded "tong tong B" meant tong tong baby.
First, the children had a snack feast. Xun and tong had party packs from some birthday celebration in school so they brought out everything. The children gorged on the junk food for a long time, Lele brought out chocolates, lollipops, the children seemed to be strangely ravenous!
then lian yi opened up the cage for the children to play with the rabbit, Ginger. Ha, tong was a tad scared, but he was tickled when the rabbit ran over his feet, he said the bunny was so fluffy.
cun was more daring, she stroked its fur and tried to get the rabbit to go into the toy box.
we had a belated birthday celebration for auntie Kunrong. The children decorated the plain chocolate cake with 34 M&Ms, ha, matching her age. The entire surface was covered with M&Ms.

Got le le to take a photo of the adults. Had not met Auntie Kunrong and Uncle Jianwen since I was in secondary school. Some 20 years! Amazingly, everyone seemed to still look the same...
The kids started eating with great gusto...eh...tong did not eat much though, I thought he was still feeling surfeited from his snack feast. the cake from Awfully chocolate was definitely mouth-watering and decadent.

You especially like chilling out on the balcony. At one point, you were all lazing on the beanbag, listening to lele jie jie read a story...
after that, bouncing and running here and there...

So the kids pulled out the bottom of the sofa and made it into a bed and were bouncing energetically on it. tong tong and tong tong, the partners in crime, caught in action. ha...the adults could have a peaceful conversation now that the kids could occupy themselves
Oooo dinner time and we ordered Macs. The "smelly" tong only ate the skin of the nuggets and gave the meat to mama. I thought of ordering a 6 pc for the two of you, it was a good thing I changed to 9pc for jie jie devoured 5 pcs.
You had a campout in the room, switching off the bright light and turning on the night lights
Tong had not had a wink and was pretty tired at 8 ish. mama wanted to bathe him but he was dismayed to findout that I did not bring his PJs and launched into a melt-down. The older jie jies tried to coax and convinced him, because they could stay for a longer time if he would just bathe and changed into the extra day clothes. Ah...the peevish tong absolutely refused, upsetting the jie jies..
on the way home, jie jie sobbed, whimpering how she missed playing with the jie jies and that she wished she could have a stayover or simply stayed for a longer time. Ah...seriously, nowadays every little kid seemed to have this fascination for stayovers, probably from those ang moh shows they had been watching...tsk...
ha, uncle jianwen thought you all had known one other for a long time though it was just the first playdate! ha...the incredible nature of children to bond...so...yeh, hopefully we could meet up with them soon again!
