(March 2016) Merry March

On one of the usual weekends at ah ma's house...the kids were growing up finely

visiting the fish pond was one of the highlights of going to school. tong explained he enjoyed school except for the part about eating vegetables during lunch

jie went for mock ballet and looked splendid

could not believe that the little tyke had transformed into a lady

she had a date with papa after the mock exam while mama went to work on a Sunday

River Safari and zoo

played truant one day to go sightseeing with papa

the zany ones pretended they were flailing in the swollen river

the little ones liked to take photos at all the photo spots

Outing to kidstop with Matthew

ha looked like they were on couple dates

jie really delighted in meeting matthew. she declared he was his best friend now...coz he was gentle and kind to her

at Lanai condo, having a playdate with xun's classmates

the younger ones hung out together

Aunt Shani, she came from South Africa

the rustic and relaxing ambience really appealed to me

little didi lounging on the sofa. he was a charmer as usual

Gardens by the Bay - sakura theme

all decked in splendid clothes, ready to go out with their favourite cousin, JJ

the blossoms were beautiful, super crowded as many people had flocked here to see the blooms

xun wore the same pretty dress with her bear

as it was the march hols, they set up free craft booths for the kids!

how cool, 3d glasses... a pity tong could not play as it was meant for 5 year-old and above

so tong n Jayron went to play with the kinetic sand

so pleasant to be in this cool dome on a sweltering day

oh jie jie was done! she looked geeky in the glasses

eh somehow JJ seemed to have lopsided glasses

headed to the puppet making booth

very simple materials, fingers from the glove and bits and pieces of felt material and googly eyes...

but it captivated them and they each made a few

waiting for the glue to dry

this was interesting

one had to colour and design on a piece of paper

then they used a machine to seal it up with a magnet! cool or what

my lovely trio

got to take a group photo to show that we had been here to admire the picturesque scenary

a different spot

then snack time as usual outside the dome

xun took a photo for the mummies

tong requested for a chance too...not too bad

to solve the mystery if JJ's glasses were lopsided, we got them to switch...ha they looked like an old loving couple

then the mischievous jie jie made jun wear the glasses. He looked like baby Einsteen

Another free craft station where they used beads to form a picture...this was arduous work

tong went to the prize grabber and got a ring pop!

having no patience for the bead craft, he went to the bouncy castle.

the bouncy castle was really impressive, it had features which mimicked the gardens by the bay..

tong wanted a photo of his ring pop to show papa. he was saddened that he could not have any 3D art, he had wanted jie jie to queue up again to do a ring for him. the queue was far too long and slow...so he settled for the ring pop

oh looked like tong had become a baby all over again

JJ's turn at the prize grabber and he got a Styrofoam plane

we ambled slowly to MBS for dinner as we thought we could catch the ilights show by the river later on together...alas it was a really lengthy walk...we were all exhausted when we reached the food court. kudos to the kids, they had played at Aquarius Cove in the morning, gardens by the bay in the afternoon and endured a tedious walk to MBS..haha

JJ's papa did not fancy going for the ilights event so they went home. We went to check things out and were amazed by what we saw

many innovative structures were used to make gigantic bubbles...like how this swing's motion would dip the circles into the foamy bubble solution

sat together with a kind couple who helped take care of them

then over to the funfair!

first time on the helter-skelter. Xun had not wanted to do this initially, she wanted to go for the spinning teacups...but she was concerned that tong would be afraid to go up alone

in the end, she thoroughly enjoyed it.

and to reward her for her generosity in spirit and love for her brother, I topped up the card to have enough money for a tea cup ride for both!

took the train home and arranged with papa to meet us

we were so environmentally friendly now, we were always out and about on our darling downtown line!

so...almost nearing the end of the March hols..could not wait for June when we could paint the town red again..
