A typical weekday....chilling at the pool again, what a luxury to have the pool right where we lived...checked out the sexy butt of our littlest baby...taking his first tentative steps into toddlerhood literally...
17 Sep, 10 more days to jun turning 11 months old...wondered if he would start walking steadily before he turned 11 months? Would he break gor gor's walking record?
It was Mid Autumn Festival. Decided to go to the GBTB to check out the lantern displays.
Wow, what a lot of things to check out. Very eager.
The first one...dazzlingly gorgeous...Chang er... different stories surrounding this mythical lady..ha..
Loved the displays, how...fluid and poetic they looked
Looked like little fish capering in the stream...streamers frolicking in the breeze?
Well, we were definitely glad to catch the displays before they were taken down
Another Chang Er...more to see on the checklist
Tribal Tempo theme in the flower dome...showcased many plants found in Matthew's hometown - South Africa!
A kind man asked if we wanted a photo, ta da, our first and only group photo on that day
liked the sunlight streaming from above effect...looked somewhat ethereal...
never noticed this statue on the past visits...we were always discovering something new each time
Jie really loved the pasta here but it was sooo costly...
pretending to be some animals?
in awe of this prehistoric stone carving
oooo the wildness beckoned us..
oh my cutie pies
well, definitely peas in a pod
and Simba the lion perched on top of the cliff
taking some more photos of the flowers before we ventured out
hmmmm...another Chang er?
Hou Yi, the legendary archer who shot down 9 suns and left 1 in the sky so Earth did not burn
I really was enthralled by the displays. We were there early, the park was relatively empty...it was balmy...
even had a chance to decorate our own paper lantern!
painting in a picturesque surrounding, how relaxing was that!
tong wanted me to help him draw Pikachu
Jie drew the Singapore Flyer, a colourful rainbow and some other pictures to cover the blank spots
spotted the photo cutout..certainly cute
the colonnade of lights...some lanterns were plain, some were really splendid...
Xun with the favourite side of her lantern
this segment contained the prettier and fancier ones
found the jade rabbit...the sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow on everything...the lights were looking pretty in the darkened surroundings
storks - harbingers of good news and peace
an alternative look of the super trees and sky way. We had wanted to go up but the line was meandering and would require an hour's wait!
oh the matchmaker and a married couple..
Some display about the sun and the moon...
There were booths which were catered to friends of the Gardens! How cool was that. We got to make a music box, though simple, it played music when we opened the lid...like those birthday cards which were the fad when mama was young
went to the Food street and tong saw this aquarium. Tong had this special passion for fish..
we ambled for a long way before we finally espied the woodcutter display. Good thing we fuelled up and rested our tired legs before continuing...mama got ripped off by the mercenary food stall holders who sold us fries costing $3.50 and corn for $2.50!!!
oh another jade rabbit
we had not seen the floating baby statue in a long while
thought this 720 degree exhibit by some famous artist would be an eye opener...took us a really lengthy way away from the main area, eh...it was interesting, made up by a circular curtain of cables which transmitted larger than life images
eh...not too fascinating for us
sauntering back to the MRT station
the kids wanted to check out the lit up bridge
We went all the way back to MBS and papa came to pick us up in a jiffy, what impeccable timing! ha...we had a really early dinner at Baker's Inn, then "supper" on the route to the art exhibit, then you called it "supper supper" when we ate ice cream and brownie at Temasek Club with papa later on.
Gushing about what a wonderful day it had been, mama felt so comforted that we had so many precious memories together!
