The last few days in the UK ...

Packing to go home. We did not buy many things on this trip. Heh plus mama was an awesome and efficient packer...so everything was neatly packaged and squeezed into the suitcases. Heh, see how compact the packages were.

Yay, the pink prada bag was flying back to Singapore! Ah, sweet gift from Daddy.

Going to the lake for the last time

The kids were wearing their new shoes!

We would miss this place. Now that we had been back for close to three weeks, staying in the UK felt like a distant memory...quite a few people commented that we had gotten fairer. Ha, I did not even notice that till I looked at this photo and saw how fair we were...heh...certainly a far cry from our usual tanned skin

Bye, swans, pigeons, and all the other birds..

We even caught a free movie screening at Mell Square's plaza...heh it was warm and toasty in the marquee...but Jun did not like the show...so we did not stay for long. Our last shopping trip was to TK Maxx where we bought even more pairs of shoes! Tong bought two pairs of sports shoes, Jie bought a black pair of glittery Skechers and mama bought a really dandy white pair of sneakers from Michael Kors. Heh...well, it was fun browsing in this discount store, you never knew what you would find. Ta da, we now had shoes for CNY!

On the way to the airport

Papa dropped us at the airport before returning the car...we were snacking...yum yum

well, I thought we did not have that many suitcases for a family of 5 on a long haul trip...

shopped around before we boarded the plane. This gigantic bear cost a lot!

Ok settling comfortably for the long flight back...heh...initially, the baby wanted to sit next to Daddy so tong sat with mama

Hmmm.. papa bought this bear at the airport...I wondered where it was now. I had not seen it around...well papa and jie jie always gushed over soft toys and could not resist buying yet another one...

Jie jie's recollections of the trip...produced with consent

I told jie jie that she could read back on what she had written when she was a wee 8-year-old and have a good laugh over her "scrawl-ly" handwriting and childlike thoughts and expressions. heh...

I could not believe it...but the dust had settled, the older kids were both in primary school...papa was back in the UK, supposedly for the last time...it felt like the UK trip was a figment of our imagination...heh...very thankful for God's divine protection and grace...very grateful for the wondrous bonding trip...I hoped we got to go on a really long trip again when Emmelyn was older...how precious such family memories were.
