(Jan 2020) Happy Lunar New Year

First round of reunion dinner. Had a really big gathering with mama's extended family at one of her cousins' newly opened steamboat restaurant!

The little light bulb insisted on photobombing us.

We were there at 5pm and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The bill came up to some $1000! Just look at the length of the receipts.

I hoped their business would prosper!

Eve of Lunar New Year. Donned matching PJs, ha, they appeared a tad tight as they seemed to have shrunk after they were washed! Nonetheless, Tong loved this set of PJs and had been asking the rest to wear it with him quite frequently.

Mei's PJ top was especially short so it always revealed her cute rotund squishy tummy.

The dedicated big gor gor always sang his made-up song "Lava Fish" to lull her to sleep when they took Ah Gong's car to Marzuki.

Mei had enough of photo-taking. Ha! Our neighbor gave us that CNY goodie fire cracker which had noodles and abalone!

Papa's darlings

And the macho (hmmm, more whiny than anything) guards of the house

First day of CNY. Outfit of the Day. Jie asked me if she could borrow my bag to hold her ang baos...gosh...carrying a Chanel bag at 10 years old?

We wondered why Tong never smiled at the camera. He would smile so sweetly when he was with Dr Lim. Dr Lim adored him and even told Ah Ma that he was very cute. Tong did not use his LOUD voice when talking to her, he used his cute tiny voice. HA.

Little Jun, wearing a matching attire (top, shorts and shoes) with his darling gor gor, whom he had a love-hate relationship with.

Little lass's first CNY celebration

Xun took the photo for us.

Lo Hei at Marzuki

Thankful for this close-knitted extended family...

We celebrated Tong's birthday look. Check out the big boss badass look he had.

He loved Pokemons very much, ha, hence the Pikachu cake.

Happy 8th birthday, son.

Ah, the usual siblings and cousins shots.

Ever expanding extended family with the addition of the little ones...perhaps Xiaoshu and Xiao Biaogu would be contributing to the number soon...

Playing video games all night long...

Mama recalled playing this "Pick an Ang Bao" game her uncle used to set when she was young. He would hang ang baos containing different amounts of money on the Yun Liu plant and we got to choose and keep the angbaos. Ha, there were big prizes like $10 or even $20!

For us, it ranged from 20 cents to $1.

Mei was intrigued by the ang bao ingots. haha

Picked one...

And got 20 cents!

What a cute expression.

Now the big kids' turn.

Ha, Tong got $1, could not recall how much Jie and Jun had.

Second day. Went to mama's god-grandma's house in the afternoon...

Then BBQ at our house with Ah Gong and Ah Ma at night.

Ah...sizzling meat and aroma of BBQ food...

Always a pleasure to have an intimate gathering..

Of course the kids were happy, they got to play games on the Switch!

Chu 7 - Ren Ri. Lo Hei again!

Yup...Happy Year of the Rat!
