Ah, could you believe it? The last post was written on the day before Jie's PSLE and this post is already about the collection of her results!
Mr Yap told them to gather at the foyer for a last class photo. Erm...in his email he said that this was probably his best batch...to which Papa laughed and said that was probably his template and he said that every single year to the graduating batch...
Special shoutout to three students, "good stories" according to the principal
She talked about how Xun improved in her maths and did not give up, that she led the prefects in a community project to educate the younger students about keeping the school premises clean...that she loved soccer and was all in all a wonderful student...
Ha Jie had to stand up...proud parent moment
Mummy and Papa stood outside. She thought she would be called after Xinling but it turned out to be otherwise. She got her things and swiftly went back to her seat. Ha, did a "yeah" elbow fist pump and patted her heart. Haha, she gestured to us that she got 5 points. Yes, Nanyang Girls' safe in the pockets...it was a rather strange situation, Jie actually scored distinction in Higher Chinese but 2 points in Chinese. One of her friends cried...oh poor girl...
Jie was tidying up her report book and saw that she scored 68 in Chinese in P4! Gosh. Was that why we decided to switch her to a different tuition centre? Hmmm...we were wondering if she would have fared better if she had gone to Berries as Tong and Jun have found it really useful...oh well...
She asked her pals if they wanted to go out but no one answered...well...the others in the group went home but Xinling went out with Ricky and some boys...ah...we jested that Xinling favoured boys over girls...(chinese idiom Zhong se qing you)
I hope she will find good friends in Nanyang. Gayle, some of the close friends in BPPS are all going there too...
Ah...our very special friend. I was very thankful to have Aidan's mum to talk to and rely on for support through the 3-year journey. Aidan got 8 points but he was already assured of a place in NUS High so all was well...
With her favourite teacher...the one who gave the name to the principal for the "good stories" and the one who was so encouraging and sweet to Xun and who never gave up on her though Xun floundered in maths initially...
One of the last few photos taken in the school..with the statue of Confucius...we hope that Jie will continue to thrive on her learning journey in the new secondary school...
Yay to Nanyang Girls' and on to Hwa Chong, papa and mama's beloved alma mater....
Thank God for the teachers and friends Jie met...and we pray that she will always encounter good people wherever she goes and thrives and shines so brightly and everyone who comes into contact with her will affirm that her God is real and truly very good.
