Sep School Hols - Desaru Fruit Farm

We planned for this trip quite a long time ago...and who would have guessed that the Friday for the Sep holidays weekend would the polling day for the election of a new president for Singapore? Papa was worried that there would be a massive jam on Sun morning so we actually book a night of stay in Austin and it was an interesting chic apartment.

The double decker bunk bed was made of metal. very cool but super noisy as the boys were constantly bumping into it

The place had all these huge ceiling to floor wallpaper

Metal furniture to suit the edgy vibes

Indoor Playground structures for the kids to fool around with

Er Yi and her family came into Malaysia at 7 ish and there was no jam too! After breakfast, they came over to visit us. heh...well...the kids were contented with playing online games together in an air-conditioned place...ah...might as well have stayed in Singapore

Night in Austin - Papa thought there would be a pasar malam but it turned out to be a feasting night. These were all itinerant hawkers. For some reason, the wanton mee was amazingly delicious and they kids ate two huge plates!

Very nice and vibrant city...full of old-school charm..

Stumbled upon a carnival! It was actually a roving circus cum carnival...how lucky! The kids had fun chasing one another in the rides...

Jun was a tad sad as he wanted to go on the bouncy castle but they had kept it by the time he was done

Mei played a game of fishing at the carnival

Breakfast together in the vicinity of the air bnb. Well...Er Yi's family just had breakfast at 7ish , but here they were again polishing the noodles off the plates...haha

Ah, Desaru Fruit Farm. We were on a lorry

The tour guide introduced some plants and said some interesting facts...Jie was enthralled by the spirally vine

A place for feeding the animals...Ah Jun loved turtles!

Mei's favourite part of the day was feeding and petting the rabbits...

There were camels too...the naughtiest animals were the goats who were really aggressive and overly enthusiastic about getting food from tourists...

Another resting area and there was a delightful pond

Jie had started becoming comical recently...it made Tong comment that he felt he could better talk with Jie now that she was not as nerdy as before...he also said he would also show the Loser sign to Jie and she would retaliate so they actually had more fun now

While waiting for the lorry to pick us, we found a really nice pavilion with a stupendous view

The new budding friendship between the two older ones

Glad we managed to get a group photo

The ATV ride was fun...the rider before me seemed rather lousy at driving and veered of the track a couple of times...giving me mini panic attacks...

Papa deliberately drove the ATV into the mud ...ha...Mei said she wanted to ride with Bro-ski (a random word Tong came up with, broski was an upgrade from Bro. he sometimes changed his address for his darling Mei to Bro and even to Mei when she betrayed him and sided with Gege)

Feeding the alpacas

One highlight was feeding the racoons...they were so laid back

Papa said this stuck its tongue out at me

The baby racoons had tiny little paws and they would put their paws on our hands, as if shaking hands with us...

There were beautiful foxes too

We saw a humongous sheepdog!

The children had fun playing at the see-saw. Er Yi Zhang also joined them...and they were so heavy that the see-saw went slightly out of shape

Yay, time to check in. It was already after 4 but one of the rooms was not ready. It was quite a good thing in the end as we got connecting rooms and late check-out!

On the way to the lobster place we ate at when we came with Waipo in Nov 2022. Ah...Mei was so snug in her boyfriend's aka papa's jacket

Heh...dinner at the Lobster Place again!

Our sleeping beauty

Ah...yummy food...happy tummies

Shopping at the mall and the kids had fun at the little track...

The night was spent playing online games...and it was really convenient that we just needed to leave the connecting doors open and the kids could have a bigger place to roam around and the adults could watch TV, surf online comfortably, knowing that everyone was safe and contented. Ah...this concluded Day 1 in Desaru!
