Aunt Wansun, chilling out with her bao. Finally, the mummies could chat while the kids went about independently.
At Sophie's birthday party which had a pirate theme! There were games and you were thrilled to join. You were a little disappointed that your team did not win though...but you took it in good spirits!
On the bus to Holland Village to meet Aunt Choon Chi and Xuanwei. Ha, today Tong requested for sunnies as he declared it was a very hot day.
It was a smaller than usual double seat so the two of you sat there on your own. ha...later on, Tong missed mama, so I went over to stand besides you.
It was such simple joy to immerse in nature...lalangs by the pavement...We helped disperse the seeds, hopefully they grew well in more places. Mama used to have very frequent nose bleeds, I remembered distinctly how wai po went to the tall grass and lalang patch near our old house at Jurong West and picked lots of lalangs and brewed them into a herbal tea for me. Amazingly, my nose bleeds stopped. Xun, you inherited this sensitive nose from me, it pained me to see you having nose bleeds, it worried me too...maybe we should pick for wai po to brew again...bummer...she said she had forgotten what the recipe was...
Scribbling in your little notebook. We read a book on Jesus' life in the library and you drew this scene one day, telling me that Jesus was on the cross in the middle and He died for our sins. I adored how your faith was so deep and so real...you loved to make smiley face pancakes of Jesus' face...
Tong tong savouring his really yummy drumstick. Ikea was fun, you went to smaland, tong went for a little while and started crying so we brought him out...food was good, company was great...what else could one ask for?
ON a sat when there was no dance lesson....papa took you two to Sembawang Country Club to swim and play at the indoor playground...you atas bears...
We went back to Kidsstop after the June hols. So heavenly to have the entire place to ourselves...MUCH better...you requested for a photo of you as Rapunzel, all locked up in the tall tower...
Queen Elsa...
Papa and mama went on a date on a Thurs and ah ma ah gong took you to Hokey Pokey. Today we went to Toy r Us at Suntec and tong was fiddling with all those children toys and remarked.."Hokey Pokey"...hahaha...
"If I Could Keep You Little"
Written and Illustrated by: Marianne Richmond
If I could keep you little,
I'd hum you lullabies.
But then I'd miss you singing
your concert's big surprise.
If I could keep you little,
I'd hold your hand everywhere.
But then I'd miss you knowing,
"I can go... you stay there."
If I could keep you little,
I'd kiss your cuts and scrapes.
But then I'd miss you
learning from your own mistakes.
If I could keep you little,
I'd strap you in real tight.
But then I'd miss you swinging
from your treetop height.
If I could keep you little,
I'd decide on matching clothes.
But then I'd miss you choosing
dots on top and stripes below.
If I could keep you little,
I'd cut your bread into shapes.
But then I'd miss you finding,
"Hey! I like ketchup with my grapes!"
If I could keep you little,
I'd tell you stories every night.
But then I'd miss you reading
the words you've learned by sight.
If I could keep you little,
I'd push you anywhere.
But then I'd miss you feeling
your speed from here to there!
If I could keep you little,
I'd pick for you a friend or two.
But then I'd miss you finding
friends you like who like you too!
If I could keep you little,
we'd finger-paint our art.
But then I'd miss you creating
stories from you heart.
If I could keep you little,
I'd push your ducky float.
But then I'd miss you feeling
the wind behind summer's boat.
If I could keep you little,
we'd nap in our fort midday.
But then I'd miss you sharing
adventures from camp away.
If I could keep you little,
I'd fly you with my feet.
But then I'd miss you seeing
sky and clouds from your seat.
If I could keep you little,
I'd keep you close to me.
But then I'd miss you growing
into who you're meant to be!
I wished I could keep you little, sometimes I would tell you that I missed the 2 year old xun. Sometimes I looked at the 2ish year old Tong and saw his mischevious cherubic face, cuddled his warm snug body and smelled his sweet breath and body scent...to hear tong always saying "ma ma ya" in that cute little drawl...and randomly popping by to say, "mama, I love you" with a twinkle in his eyes...
I wished I could keep you at this stage FOREVER...but I also looked forward to seeing how kinds of people you would grow up to be...what careers you would choose, you establishing your own families...I love the two of you soooo much...
Tata...end of the very busy June hols...not that it mattered to us since you were not in school...haha...next year would be entirely different...not looking forward to it...oh well...we would surely adapt well...
