Aug 14 - Celebrating papa's birthday: Flyer, duck tour, ma maison, Paulander, Out of the box,Pantry at Loewen Road, river cruise

What a very thrilling week of celebrations and feasting! Papa was clearing his leave as he was leaving service to join a private company...so mama had planned lotsa excursions for the family...as always, the very shrew mama had gotten ticket packages from Fil Travel so they were really affordable. Imagine, mama bought the combo for alive museum, river cruise and a $10 popeye voucher for only $30 an adult when the river cruise tic was already $22, museum $25...so yeh...what fun it was to be like a tourist in our own beloved homeland.

FLYER + DUCK TOUR

Ha, strangely, mama did not take photos of us at the Flyer. Must be because it was raining cats and dogs...the flight was stopped and we had to have our lunch first at Popeye. Then, thankfully, the rain ceased and we got an entire capsule to ourselves! How cool was that! Papa and you played a "spot the building" competition and I must say you were pretty good at that, cool observation and orientation skills. Then we ran around the capsules, you said you and tong were butterflies and papa was the big bird who wanted to gobble you up.

It must be divine. We had to skip two capsules - one for meals, the other under maintenance, papa and I were hoping against hope that no body would come and join the queue so we could have one capsule. True enough, when a family sauntered onto the platform, we hopped onto the capsule...and the attendant just shut the door for us...phew...

When we came out, the queue was snaking...what divine timing...

When we were in the capsule, we saw the boats and "ducks" and papa casually asked if you wanted to go.

We thought he meant it for real, though it was just a cavalier question. So...tong badgered papa to go. ha...oh an accident happened too, you and tong were posing for photos with the cardboard cut-outs at flyer, and tong peed and wet the floor. we had totally forgotten he was not wearing a diaper!

So...off we went to the duck tour. Almost could not catch it as it was packed...

We got a funny tour guide who spoke ang moh with a slang and told us funny anecdotes...

hair blowing in the wind...

You asked if we were going on a yacht party this year...orrrr...you atas little baby...I said we could not afford it..haha...so we went on the duck tour instead...

Tong and you wanted to sit by the side so you could look out at the scenery. Tong was getting cantankerous as it was way past his nap time. In fact, both of you napped halfway into the 1 hr journey.

With mama hugging the asleep koala tong, I did not take many photos. well...off to home...what a fun packed day.

FEASTING - mama & papa at Ma Maison, Bugis +.

Ditch the kids with ah gong and ah ma, papa and mama went for a date. Not fanciful food...just a quiet dinner to talk about ...anything under the sun...you two, friends...about the future...

Paulander at Millenia Walk. Xiaoshu treated us to a sumptuous brunch of sausages, pasta...and a most decadent chocolate cake from Rive Gauche. Most delish.

You were so cute, you saw this hanging in the closet at ah ma's house and wanted to bring it home so you could wear it today.

Making funny faces as usual

After lunch, we headed to Esplanade to catch Playtime: Out of the box. We loved this series of Playtime! They were often creative and enjoyable...

We would always check out the aerial display, you commented how gorgeous they were...

Oh the set-up was made up of lots of boxes..

It was packed that day...hoping that it would be a great show...

T

Three actors came out, saying a box could be...a musical box - ballerina twirled...a robot - marched around, a jack in the box - an actor popped out of the box...after watching the show, the two of you would pretend to do the same thing when we got an empty box (ha mama's taobao stuff), you would ask me to wind the box and you would pop up when the melody ended...

The comical part how they used the washing machine to make "colourful" clothes. Pop the t shirt in plus one other item of the colour they wanted, and the white clothing became that particular colour. haha...

They talked about how a box could be a spaceship...and they saw aliens on the planet...

They used familiar songs and changed the lyrics to suit the theme so the songs were really easy to follow...

a box could be a submarine too...off to the deep ocean to find a treasure box...

not the blue one as it was a blue turtle..who talked in a cheena slang...

not the yellow box as it was a spanish crab...it was the green one!

Then off to the race track as a box could be a car.

FInally, a box could be a hot air balloon...

Overall, it was very entertaining...I thought it was one of the best shows we had watched so far, we could even re-enact the scenes at home and play...so it was really cool : )

The two of you loved to pretend to be aliens or robots and talked in funny sounds..

On papa's birthday, we went to Pantry at Loewen Road because we read that there was a trampoline and playground in its compound so it was kid- friendly. Eh...the playground looked very old and ill-maintained...it only had a slide, swing, ladder and see-saw..not exactly what we had expected...

Still, the two of you were thrilled!

Lunch together...well...xun xun started to develop a mild fever again...sigh...mama had a confession to make. I bought a packet of ready-packed holy com cups sometime in june 2014, lik 22 jun? We had been doing it as a family and I never felt more besieged by illnesses...we were previously relatively healthy and...yet suddenly we had been plagued with bouts of illnesses, one after another, and each episode took 2 weeks. just when the family recovered, something else struck...

papa was steadfast. he said we were in for a huge blessing...the devil was putting up his desperate measures to deter us...yes, so let us keep praying... as of now on 22 aug, you and i suffered stomach flu and we had been having the runs : ( hope it did not spread to the boys in the house.

The food did not seem fanciful..but it was tasty, mama had a sandwich, papa a burger and the two of you a plate of cream based spaghetti.

You found an ang moh friend and had fun taking the swing and running around the playground together. We tried the trampoline at a time when the kids from the White Lodge school came out, so it was crowded and the two of you did not enjoy it.

After a nap, off we went to take the River Cruise. Poor xun xun...still running a fever but wanted to go for the surprise...

the yang-orr baby was all snuggly with papa...

Some japanese tourist helped us take the family photos...

Cruising down the picturesque river...what a glorious country...

ah, looked like our house. Recently, Xun said she would buy a house and stay next to mama, so she could come over and have dinner with me every night. Sometimes...you would ask me what you should name your kids...haha...i replied you should discuss with your husband...

just today, you said you would tell "little imp" stories to your kids too coz they were soooo good...

tong and mama up to no good with wefies and...gaping mouths...tong's signature...he loved to act surprised...laugh..

like when we played the "frozen" game at our apartment's courtyard, he would always have his mouth wide open, like he was caught in surprise when we froze him...yes he was one drama mama boy..

xun was too weak to go for dinner outside. So we packed yummy food from Liang court and went back for movie night!

I remarked that papa did all the things you kids loved on his birthday. Maybe we should something he liked on your birthdays...at night, when you came back to snuggle after going out to ask papa to wash your bottle (your nightly routine - watched thomas for tong, 2 shows for xun, current fav was frozen barbie and ah ma taught you how to spell so you could search for them on the computer at marzuki...read 3 books for xun, more for tong coz his books were easier...holy com, you called it holy cheesering...drank one bottle in the bedroom, listened to little imp stories, went out to ask daddy to wash bottle...then back to snuggly cozy bed...

wondered how life would be when you started school..oh well...

I want to say...mama really loves you two...loves you two soo much...

papa had started work at his new work place...it would always be challenging when one embarked on a new journey...but we would always be cheering one another on as a family...

Tong had been talking so much recently, in beautiful grammatically correct sentences... like "i live at linear with my family...papa, mama, jie jie..."...it was astounding...how he picked up the language, xun, you had been an exemplary example.

Just tonight, tong went into a tiny tantrum again. actually, he had improved...his intense ballistic tantrum episode lasted like a week and passed like the summer rain. but tonight, he was mad and insisted mama to bring in your milk bottle, instead of you doing it yourself. papa and I warned him sternly, papa threatened to kick him out of the house...but you, gracious kindhearted you, you told tong, "only tonight k" to save him from the scolding and told me to talk to him...

he stopped whining, became chirpy and went to bed. mama talked to him how he could not take advantage of your kindness...tong said, "ok" in that cute little manner of his...

I love the two of you...love the two of you so much...and I thank papa for leading our family...that he takes care of the finances so we need not worry and can lead such a carefree life...

thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus...that you love and died for us...that all these blessings...r possible only because of you...
