It was your cousin's Qiqi's birthday which was held at the condominium, Clover by the Park, at Bishan. There was an amazing community-like spirit in that place, it was a buzz of activities - kids playing at the playground and soccer at the open space, families having BBQ at the pits, movie screening...it was like a really kampong kinda place! It was the kinda place where one could bring up their kids and the kids would be running around together at the vast open spaces...
Xun xun decided to take fishballs herself when papa was a tad slow...
matching ballet pumps, flown all the way from Taiwan from Uncle Lan and Min yi yi. She said the characters in "Sex in the city" wore these!
Sprawling pool...amenities were sorely missing in Linear, our pool was pathetic in comparison to this...oh well...papa said we made a very wise choice still, as Linear was near to the MRT, was undervalued for its location and suited us just fine...
Look at the number of people milling around...
Having a break at the koi pond...water never fails to capture tong's attention
Ooo, the newest in-thing at parties, walking pets! I suppose since you could not have real pets, Xun was always talking about having one and how fun it would be, you even said you wanted a parrot who could imitate everything you said!
Elefani, Aunt Margaret from USA taught us that was how they said elephants in Haiwaii...
Saw pretty blooms on the floor and the vain girl could not resist planting some in her hair...
Fun at the playground...what would life be without playgrounds?
Piggy back-ing your dearest daddy, who was feared and revered by subordinates at work but now totally trodden by the little imps...
oooo, the delectable and absolutely lovely birthday cake...Xun, you already told me you wanted a Frozen theme for your birthday. You also said you wanted to invite your cousins and Sophie to your party as she had invited you to hers. Mama loved how you always reciprocated people's generosity...
We were now having a very bad phase of tong's terrible twos. He would be sweet and cuddly at one moment and totally ballistic and out of hand the next moment. He would whinge and cry and yell at the top of his voice over seemingly very small issues...like he forgot his water bottle when we walked to wai po's house...like he wanted me to carry him around...like he wanted this and that NOW NOW NOW...
The one that particularly affected you was how you would share your stuff with him and he expected you to, simply because he yelled "please" and would throw a tantrum when you did not accede...and how he never shared his stuff which you also wanted... tonight (13 Aug) you sobbed bitterly and ranted how you would never share with tong ever...papa came in and consoled you, you went on how unfair it all was...ha, in the end, all of us griped about our grievances, papa said he did not want to go to work , he wanted to play...
mama said she had to nurse tong all the time and tong never did anything for him...all of us groused..except tong who was a little sheepish...coz we all complained about him...hahaha...we ended up chortling..it was cathartic...we snuggled and went to bed...our hearts all warm and entwined...
mama told you you were stronger so you had to help the weaker tong, who would learn and grow up to be strong and help younger and weaker ones too...and how Jesus chose you to be the jie jie coz He knew you were BIG hearted...
If all kids were like you, parenting would be a breeze! Tong the tyrant - you better be sheepish when you read this 20 years down the road...
Mama had been thinking about visiting the flower dome for quite a while. One day, we woke up not having planned anything and I asked tong where he would like to go. Amazingly, uncannily, tong said, "Flower DOME!" WOW
So we went. We took the free buggy ride offered by Pollen cafe and rode to Flower Dome. Had our usual spaghetti with cream, the two of you loved this dish...costly yes, but delicious and it made you happy...and we got free entry to Flower Dome, so it was not too bad a deal...
The theme was Persian Garden...
Me decked in my beautiful floral dress, so apt for this setting...
We must take a photo of all the seats...
And of course play the interactive screen games of cutting trees and planting seeds before we called it a day. I liked the flower dome, nature all around (eh...very highly contrived since they were all potted plants placed in a highly fastidious manner, very manicured setting...but heh, it was balmy and cool in the dome...)
Ok, waiting for the next theme!
