Hurray, a public holiday, we dated Aunt Wansun and her daughters and went to the FEO children garden at Gardens by the Bay. First, we had a filling lunch at Satay by the bay. Breezy and airy place. NAISE.
Ah, the compulsory entrance shot.
The kids were getting busy with the plastic bags that Auntie Wansun always brought along.
Next, hitting the toddler's playground. Uncle XS was such a considerate and thoughtful person, he bought presents (fairy planes and a fighter plane made of those styrofoam boards from Denmark!) and a Freddy engine (to tong's delight and he had been bringing that out whenever we went out ever since) and gummies for the munchkins...orrrr....
We checked out the bigger kids' playgrounds. It had bridges and climbing structures. Xun, you liked this even more than the toddler's playground and was despondent when we had to leave. Papa was waiting at Satay by the bay and it was time for you to head home for a siesta. You wished you did not have to leave so soon...you wanted to come back to this playground next time...
Ah, we did up a birthday calendar finally! All in the Tay and Lu family. Beautiful calendar from mama's work place.
We went for lunch at Coffee Bean, MBS, with godma and goddad one Sunday. The other time, we came for dinner and planned to go for the boat ride after dinner but we were too late.
This time round, papa made sure you managed to catch the ride! He took the two of you to line up while mama ate with god ma and god dad and helped you take these photos!
Then off to ah ma's house while mama went to worship the Lord with godma and goddad. There was one night when tong tong threw a tantrum and papa was really mad at him. Poor tong was sobbing uncontrollably but had to stifle his sobs as papa threatened that he would carry tong if he continued bawling. Tears streamed down his cheeks and ah ma dried his tears and tried to comfort him.
At night, we were talking about the incident and tong exclaimed, "ah ma wiped tong tong's tears." hahah you really were ah ma's sweet heart baby.
OH we came back from ah ma's house rather early one day and we spotted a pasar malam in bukit panjang! Duper excited as the heartlander at heart mama loved all things old-fashioned and nostalgic.
The ubiquitous handphone cover stall that one would see at every pasar malam. It used to be the pirated DVD stalls but the police cracked down severely on them and we could only go to JB for pirated DVDs now! Papa used to go with his hall friends, but with the advent of online streaming programs, like Netflix, or even legal albeit not so clear ones which he used for watching World Cup 2014, it was not really necessary to go to JB for pirated stuff now.
Fruit stalls...
my favourite food stalls...used to gobble up the sausages but became more health conscious about eating processed food recently. mama always felt guilty that I did not watch your diets too much, you two ate lotsa processed and sugary stuff : ( my solace was that we prayed over your food and God granted you divine health...
oh your favourite candy flosss....we bought a packet for you and tong and met wai po who was shopping there too. She reprimanded mama as the two of you were having very phlegmy coughs...ahhhhhh....
We just recovered from a bout of nasty flu...took antibiotics and the virus still lingered for two weeks. there was a point when xun had high fever for days...it worried mama as I was wondering if it could be symptomatic of a more severe illness...sigh...the perils of motherhood...one could never cease worrying...
oooo old fashioned game stalls like the ones we saw in taiwan! of course, we must play.
you two loved this fishing game...
a lot of tossing the balls into the machines to get points game...very senseless, hardly needed technique ...hahaha
tong had a go at hitting the cans off the shelf...the auntie was so nice, carried tong all the way to the shelf and let him try a few times and cheered enthusiastically...hahah
Xun spotted a cute little sparkly skirt with her eagle eyes. When mama wore a pretty dress, you would always compliment me and I would declare I would keep it for you till you were old enough to wear it. We would chuckle at how mama was gonna keep all the clothes for you, and it would be an awful lot...
RWS Sea Aquarium
Papa's cousin had a tour agency and she gave us free tickets to go to the Aquarium. Hooray...we loved the aquarium. It was tues and we were supposed to go for piano class. Xun was coughing away...mama was sheepish about her spreading the germs to the other students...so we went Aquarium instead!
You loved this huge ship, saying it was like NOah's ark.
And somehow you loved these glowing jellyfish and insisted I took a photo of them... did not take too many photos since we had come once...and you would be coming with xiaoshu for his company's family day soon...I was sure you would have a blast of a time!
