(19 Oct Sun) You you's first birthday at Treehouse Villa

It was you you's birthday! We went to the Treehouse Villa at Changi. Several years ago, we booked a chalet there to celebrate mama's ah gong's birthday. Recently, they underwent a revamp and all the chalets took on a zen and modern look, like those houses we would find at some Balinese resort!

So on Saturday, we went over for a barbecue. mama bought a packet of marshmallows...and xun and tong almost finished the entire packet. note to self: to buy a tiny packet next time. There was a recess underneath the stairs, so the kids spent the entire night hiding there, calling it their secret cave.

What was a gathering without the obligatory sisters' shot.

and the boys' shots. Mama was really thankful that the brother-in-laws got on so amicably...we were always hanging out so often together, going on tours, visiting one another at their houses...going for KTV, meeting up at waipo's, celebrating birthdays...

It was an immense gift to mama, to have such loving and supportive sisters...blood is indeed thicker than water..the older mama got, the more appreciative I was of my sisters...I thanked wai po for this enduring companionship...I prayed that you and tong tong would be as close knitted when you were adults and had spouses...that you would hang out like how mama did with her sisters...

The room was so beautifully furnished...oh so comfy bed...xun looked just like a little bride, all decked in sweet lavender.

The party
Lots of decorations around...buntings...

helium balloons...ah, mama bought these from taobao!

Xun looking all pensive.

Ya, though there are only you and tong in the family...eh...mama thought it was too exhausting to have a third child...I had pondered about this for a long time...and still could not find the courage to do so...yup...so...you could have extended family support from er yi's and san yi's children : )

So idyllic and romantic with all these balloons flying blithely in the breeze

Attacking the food

We sought refuge at the resort lobby to be away from the hustle and bustle of the party...

oh it was almost time for handsome you you to cut the cake...

Wow, that cake looked so scrumptious and lovely! Heard er yi spent $300 plus on the cake...

Ok, just goofing around...

tong and papa were on really friendly terms nowadays. tong accepted that he could only be carried by papa when we were out. He missed papa sometimes when papa was at work...and he always looked out for papa, wanting to wait for him when papa dropped us off first to go to our destination while he looked for carpark lots...

oh the sweetheart that always melted papa's heart...

san yi zhang nearly fell asleep while lounging ont he huge sofa bed...well...he was pretending to be asleep here but papa said he would really fall asleep if we waited long enough..ha

asking xiaoyi to tell some photos for papa and mama...eh...papa ALWAYS tried to hide behind mama so he appeared skinnier and he would angle his face deliberately...I wondered who was the vain pot in the house.

Yay xun chose McQueen and tong chose Thomas. He did ask papa quizzically why thomas was now pink and had winnie the pooh and other friends as passengers. Hmmm, papa said maybe thomas changed his clothes...jie was more logical, she said perhaps this was another train in another cartoon, after all the passengers were winnie and friends, so perhaps it was the train in that story...

Ha, xiaoyi was forever taking selfies...heh...eh dunno if san yi was taking pictures of the scenery or herself...this made a comical photo

While papa went to fetch the car, we took some jumping shots...

Took quite a few shots to get one of both of you in the air. heh...

Check out your exuberant jumps...haha

So that was it, a beautiful birthday celebration. Blessed Birthday, you you. Could not wait for the time when you could walk and talk...the three of you would surely paint the town red.
