Jurong Bird Park
We fully utilised our "Friends of the Wild" membership and went to Jurong Bird Park for a splashing fun time at the water play area!
Even little Jun dared to take the slide down. It was very safe - the descent was very slow and slope very slight. One would hardly make a big splash. heh. So jie whined that she preferred the slides at the zoo.
The ever effervescent tong was gushing about all the exhibits he wanted to visit...we only had a couple of hours there, so we checked out the blue macaws, played here and watched "Kings of the Skies" and had to go home.
Fascinated by the swirling waters created by the drainage hole
The energetic curious ball of energy...interestingly, someone used this phrase to describe papa...so we knew exactly where Tong inherited his zaniness from.
In time for the feeding session. We had to donate $2 to get a plate of stinky fish. Jun even dropped his glove and somehow got the fishy smell on his hair. ha
Only Jie matched the height of the Emperor Penguin.
Gardens By the Bay
GBTB always held such interesting exhibits. I was enthralled by this series when I was young. Jie should definitely read this!
Went to the Flower Dome. The theme was "Begonia Brilliance". Nothing spectacular, it was pleasant to walk in the chilly dome on a sultry afternoon. They were pretending to be Superman!
We did not know what marine creatures had to do with begonias, but the displays were cute!
Giant octopuses, spiny puffer fish, schools of colourful fish
The oyster would open and close, and that captivated the littlest one who was eagerly waiting for it to open to reveal the shiny pearl
How could they miss a picture with the sea turtles!
It was dazzling as usual.
Definitely had a great time sauntering there.
The cloud forest was not as cold as usual, probably due to the sweltering heat outside
Tong peeped into the drain and saw a brilliant rainbow!
A pipe was blowing out strong gusts of wind, and the kooky ones stood there relishing the breezes
the trip was never complete without a photo with the stoic lion at the escalators
he was getting tired and wanted to be carried
Oh, looked at that mopey adorable little face
We bought the magic passes for the big ones and they got to play three games - a shooting game in which they won soft toys, a mirror maze and a bouncy doughnut
Jun could not enter the mirror maze so they went in with our phone and took crazy photos
This was apparently the most fun activity.
They got to hunt for objects amongst the rainbow sprinkles
then we lazed on the inflatables while waiting for the science show
I had wanted to go home as it was only a little past two but the kids insisted on staying till 4! My goodness. The science show was nothing to rave about, lots of dry ice effects, bubbles and simple experiments involving chemical changes in colours....oh well, they enjoyed it and I was glad!
Had body painting and the vain one wanted a blue butterfly on his face
Even jun had a cute little lollipop
While jie asked for a snake
Before we went off, we checked out one of the houses
Disappearing act?
Double bubble, toil and trouble...hmmm, I could not recall the chant in Macbeth anymore
Two weeks into the June holidays...woah how time flew.
