(8 Dec 18 Sat) London

To London, to London, to see the queen... We set off early and had to drag Jun out of bed. He was pretending to be asleep though in this picture. Ha

Checked in at Wembley Hotel. It was a 3-star hotel, nothing to gush about, but it was near to the train station and quite affordable (100 pounds a night).

Wembley Park Station

The ride was smooth and fast...

The cutie pie

They were good travelers and gave no problem on public transport. Thank God for adaptable and cooperative kids.

A double chin was developing. I liked his chubby look.

Ice skating rink outside the Natural History Museum. Yeah, the children would love to skate there but it was crowded (they were re-icing the surface) and expensive...

Jolly mood in the air

The grand museum looming ahead of us

It was a fascinating museum and admission was free! They had such awesome natural exhibits and Tong was the most enthusiastic one as he loved animals. Jie loved to read and learn new things too, so we could spend a long time in the museum...if not for the littlest one who did not fancy such things. Heh, he was asleep on this occasion and poor papa had to carry him all the time. 12 kg, a weighty bag of rice.

The dinosaurs were always popular with visitors.

Fossils that were preserved so well...men always has this fixation with the past, it was an unending quest to learn about the history of Earth.

Funny mirrors

Lots and lots of displays

Ok, next up, we were going to see the famous Tower Bridge

There were so many castles, I really did not recall all of their names. This one should be Tower of London where the royalty kept their crown jewels...oh Tong's eyes lit up at hearing the word "jewels"...he must be a magpie

Yay we reached Tower Bridge. They painted the sides in blue!

Taking a saunter down the side of River Thames

Tong was ravenous and bought teriyaki chicken

After a very long walk in the rain, we finally arrived at Burger & Lobster, a purportedly wonderful dining spot. It looked really atas and posh.

Yummy...

Almost time to tuck in

Oh mouth-watering food

Jie liked the beef burger, she said it was delish. Tong loved the lobster. heh, he was the only kid who loved gourmand food like crabs and lobsters.

So ya, he ate A LOT.

Jun just gobbled up the bread with mayo! Ha, the easiest and cheapest to feed in the lot.

The damage was 110 pounds, some S$200, but papa said it was all worth it for we had a wonderful experience. The server was very attentive and sweet to the kids and even gave us a free cheesecake.

Off to the nearby TK Maxx for some shopping. The shopping in the UK could not hold a candle to shopping in the USA. Sigh...

While walking to the train station, we saw this crooked Japanese house on the bridge. How odd.

Liver Pool Station - a bustling transport node

Going back to our hotel

The sleepy head

Ha the fashionista looked all dapper in jie's scarf. He must be the most photogenic one of the lot.

Oh gor gor looked quite dashing in the Korean style here too. ha.

Ha, as I was typing this post, I bought the peas in a pod plush toy from Taobao for Jie! She wanted two -  1 50 cm and 1 40 cm so that she could have 6 peas. Ha, she had a soft spot for soft toys, like papa and she wanted to stuff her bed with stuffed toys. Well, Xiaoyi promised to buy a present as a reward for her good grades, so Xiaoyi graciously agreed to pay $15 (including shipping to our house)! Hurray for Taobao.
