I still could not get over how fast time had flown by...Reunion dinner with my sisters at a vegetarian restaurant. The food was yummy and affordable!
First day of CNY
Yup, the first stop was always Ah Ma's house where we would get to eat the mouth-watering mee sua with lots of ingredients like crabsticks, pork ribs, eggs, chicken...painstakingly cooked by Ah Ma.
Ha Xun and Tong took the photos for the adults..
Our little family of 5...going to be 6 soon
Ah Ma and Ah Gong's darlings
2nd stop: Uncle Ronald's house to meet Ah Ma's relatives
Ah, games and snacks galore. Hers had many video games...so the children were thrilled...
3rd stop: Waipo's house
Hmm I did not know why the houses were always referred to belong to the matriarch of the family...I supposed coz that was the women's domain?
Wai Gong's relatives gathered at the house. We had steamboat. Mama's godbrother's family was there too...it was really interesting. Wai po got to know of this agent when she was selling her house. She liked him so much that she said he wanted to make her his godson. He was non committal about it but she went around telling people that and it become a truth...hahahha
4th stop: Back to Lorong Marzuki
Done lovingly by Xiao Biao Gu! Year of the lazy PIG
Yu Sheng was a must at every gathering.
Photo time! The...erm...oldbies
The young ones
Ah...and the mature adults. The cousins carried on the tradition of lining up according to their ages...
Then according to height hahaha
Plus all the spouses
2nd DAY: To Uncle Jingkai's house
Weren't the boys dashing in their matching wear?
2nd stop: Back to our house for the gathering
We hosted mama's sisters and cousin who were living in USA and came to Singapore for the festive season...hoping to visit them again someday
ah... common interest - gaming
10th Feb
No soccer training for the fist CNY weekend. After church, we went to the water play area at Marina Barrage. Would you believe it? Just when the kids had dried themselves and changed into dry clothes, we saw the PM sauntering down the path....ha...the kids asked for a photograph, which he obliged kindly, and he even teased jie asking where was his angbao when they wished him Happy New Year. Later, we found out that it was his birthday! Wish we had known, we would have asked the children to sing him the birthday song.
so yup, last CNY with 3 kids... ha! Always heartening to meet up with the extended family...tiring nonetheless...but what better blessing was there than to have loving people in one's life? Such days of heaven on earth...ever thankful to God for putting such wondrous people in our lives.
