12 Dec Gotemba Premium Outlet Day 3

A rather short post for day 3 as we spent a lot of time on the roads. A comfortable and toasty ride in a Vellfire for about 2 hours …

Ooooo caught sight of Mount Fuji in the horizon. A beautiful natural wonder indeed

Made a pit stop and this was the first photo we took with the legendary beauty

Yay we finally reached the outlet. It was already 11.30am.

The driver told us that we should head out latest by 3.30pm.

Walked across the bridge to the other side of the outlet. It was a sprawling place, way bigger than the ones even in USA!

Papa let the kids use the telescope to have a closer look. One could see the grooves and snow in the zoomed in perspective. Naughty Papa said he could see people trekking up the mountain. Of course he was kidding!

Papa and Amie bought sneakers from Onitsuka. Papa had been thinking of getting a pair for a long time so this was the highlight of his day 3 in Japan! The two pairs of shoes cost about S$200, a good price indeed.

Mei bought Skechers shoes, gloves and a neck warmer. Jun got the same neck warmer in another colour, very nifty winter wear!

Found a shop named JUN!

Jie also bought Eden’s Christmas present and Mama got a pair of cheap puma track shoes! They were about $32. Jie and Papa bought Under Armour shoes at S$30 plus too! The big kids said they wanted to select the Christmas presents themselves, really out some thought into getting something the cousins would like and not let Mummy settle everything. The practical Mama usually buy t shirts but had already planned to add on a funny twist, like the jelly beans in exotic flavour, Macdonald’s socks and a fried drumstick keychain. Snort. As the Chinese saying goes, big already, feathers harden!

Ending the day with a trip to the Pokémon store near our apartment. It was a lengthy ride home as we were caught in a horrendous jam and it took some 3.5 hours! We all had a good nap though. The kids bought the famous Japanese cream cookies and more Pokémon toys. Papa said they had been really good kids so he paid for their purchases and did not deduct the spending from Ah Ma’s Christmas gift money, We got curry rice and fried pork rice from a nearby restaurant, Burger King and this heavenly soft serve (thanks Youyou for the recommendation!) from Family Mart.

Definitely mouth-watering. It tasted like marshmallows!

Got the rice masks from Family Mart. We loved that convenience store, very cheap but effective masks! Ha Papa and Tong joined in the fun…

Tong looked like he was going to crack and die when his sister told him to make this cloyingly sweet pose. Oh well, he could not escape his evil sister’s clutches.

Papa and Mama stayed up to wash and dry the clothes and it was 1am when we turned in for the night, 3 days down and 5 more to go!
