DAY ONE
The adults had a chatgroup created for past holidays and the chat was resurrected once again. We reported our location at the second link at 7 plus in the morning.
We got into JB smoothly and went to have dim sum for breakfast.
They opened up the second level for us. Quaint dim sum place.
Dim sum was satisfying and Papa ordered just the right amount of food.
Noticed this Santa Claus blow-up figure trying to sneak into places all over
tickled pink by it
Shopping at the premium outlet. Jie and Tong bought Adidas shoes and Mama and Jie bought some Bath and Body Works products.
Rested at Beautea while waiting for our orders to be ready. Had this entire spacious corner to ourselves
The cousins came to look for...Da Biao Gu was missing...
After that, we went on our separate ways again and then these three families bumped into one another and we took this photo of the daddies and said we were missing the last daddy
Met up at Village Grocer to stock up on water and snacks
Saw Mr Yakult
All ready to head to the villa
It was a beautiful and spacious house. The kids loved it.
There was a lovely swing but one could not swing it too high so it was not that fun
Papa brought the TV box along and we could have MOVIE and SOCCER time...in fact, Da Biao Gu and San Biao Gu were so impressed by the gadget that they bought their own set the very next day at Sutera Mall.
We had a perfect corner for displaying the snacks.
The chill area on the second level
A rather horrendous window design. A small kid could probably fall off this level through the open window. The adults tried to secure it with curtain ribbons and hangars.
The largest room for ALL the kids. Dragged the mattresses from the other rooms. This was not the final set up as we originally thought the 6 boys could squeeze into two beds
Enjoying this cavernous room
Yay, peace and quiet for the parents
The kids and some adults spent quite a bit of time at the table tennis table
Enjoying the pool. At first, Mama thought the pool looked rather small and was disappointed...but actually, it turned out to be a really good size...all the kids could use it at the same time and they had a whale of a time
the ditsy ones
Chicken fight...apparently there were three duelling duos - Gayle on Sarahbelle, Jayron on Eden and Jun on Isaac. So apparently, the boys were cheaters and tried to use underhand methods to win but the girls emerged as the winners.
Papa, Da Biao Gu and Gu Zhang and Biao Shu went to Taman Sentosa market to dabao seafood!
The kids ate first. Gayle and Eden especially loved the butter crayfish. Well... the kids thought there would not be enough food left for the adults but it turned out that Papa had estimated well and everything was finished nicely.
The highlight of the day for Mama - the hilarious wig wearing photoshoot. Jie had this zany idea of having a wig snatching game and made me buy 11 gaudy and weird wigs. Well...the 5 big ones were really game and immediately put on and I must say that Max looked most ravishing in the wig. Jayron did not want to do it initially but was coerced by peer and parental pressure to join the circus act. We also had the very fed-up Mei with her pissed off look.
Well, all the boys looked really good. I guess they were good looking hence they looked like handsome transvestites. We had a really good laugh. Da Biao Gu and San Biao Gu were showering upstairs and were startled by our uproarious laughter and San Biao Gu thought there were dogs howling.
Took quite a long time to get these photos. Interestingly, many of them chose the wig which matched their tops
They even did a tik tok video and they had to shake their heads when the song went "bob" "bob".
The young ones could not wait to take the scratchy wigs off and scooted off to resume playing in the air-conditioned room.
The big ones stayed on to take more silly photos. This was my favourite picture.
The batch of 2010-ers
I did not know how they came up with such nonsense
It was wildly entertaining though
The children went up to play and the daddies stayed to watch soccer
See, two more mattresses were dragged into the room as we had miscounted. There were actually 7 boys! So we wanted them to be comfortable and not squeeze. Heh now, there was only one mattress left in all the adults' rooms. Final picture before lights out and it was really pitch dark in the room. It looked all peaceful here now, but just moments before this was taken, they were playing parkour, jumping from the platform onto the first mattress and doing a flip in the air to land on the second. Well...there was never a dull moment when you put a bunch of thrill-seeking and chummy cousins together.
DAY TWO
Went to Sutera Mall. Saw the ginerbread mascot
Go-karting time
We recreated the dabbing photo they did when they went to Taiwan in 2019 before Covid struck
Waiting for our turn at the go-karting area
There was only one circuit. The small kids and big kids took turns to race round the circuit.
The cool dudes
Mei said bye to Papa
Hmm, very hard to tell whom these racers were...but rest assured, Da Biao Gu and San Biao Gu took them, so they were definitely our people
Jie was driving really recklessly and was second all the way
Eden took a sharp turn without braking and was punished by the road marshal and had to sit out for one lap
The kiddy race was so peaceful and quiet compared to the adrenalin inducing adults' race
Jun and several boys from other families looked the same so we took to recognizing him by looking out for his very bright Pokemon shoes
Yay, champions!
Two outsiders raced with them and took the first two positions. Then it was Papa, Tong and Jie as the ranking was done based on the best lap. So even though Jie's total timing was better than them, she was ranked 5th. Ha.
Our only group photo...hmmm not very flattering since all the racers were sweaty and had messy hair...oh well!
We headed to Paradigm Mall, thinking that we could play laser tag there, and discovered to our horror that it was actually the Paradigm in KL. We went to check out on two other play facilities but did not like them, and decided to go ice skating, only to find out that the next slot was at 530 and it was just 4pm. Not wanting to wait, we decided to head to Eko Palladium Mall...Ha, but the kids were ravenous, so we bought bread and they sat on the floor to eat. Well...it looked like we were on a school excursion.
Had fun at the Escape Rooms. The kids did some heist room while the adults went to the magical room.
Went to the "Floor is Lava" and we separated into two groups again. The kids won the adults, having completed 41 levels while we cleared 39. Considering our rickety bodies and our age, we thought we did really WELL. HA.
The kids saw a huge concave mirror and were taking we-fies
Really liked this photo...they had grown up so fast. Where did the time go?
Our very handsome Jun. After this, the kids said they wanted to go back to swim, so we decided to head home and da-baoed food!
Ah...so...a most exhilarating staycation with the cousins... we said we should make this an annual tradition...but of course, we would not ask the old folks along as they would surely suffer panic attacks if they saw the kind of dangerous stunts the kids were up to...so yeah...COUSINS - ONE"s VERY FIRST FRIEND...may this kinship continue to blossom and strength...and may we create more memories in the years to come...
