Good morning Tokyo! Spotted this sewer lid with an intricate design
Got our train tickets
Cute animation on the screen
Shinto shrine erected to honour an emperor and empress
A leisurely stroll on a tranquil weekday
The autumn colours added a touch of romance and whimsy
Barrels of sake
Mei was feeling cold so we bundled her up like a burrito
Jie wanted a photo with the autumn colours…took quite a while to get one that she approved of
Cleansing of hands and rinsing of mouth before going onto the grounds
We caught a priest blessing ceremony!
People wrote their wishes on paper and tablets and hung them there. We bought amulets too.
Saw an interesting sight when we were walking around -long lines of people outside some buildings and one cafe called Stranger Things
Papa showed me the video of this shop a few nights before we flew and we chanced upon it on our way to the next attraction sight. Sadly, Papa did not buy anything as it would be too much work to carry the golf items home and all the golf clothes were for the winter season.
Saw golf club covers. Mei liked the Mount Fuji one while Papa liked the Snorlax!
Godzilla!
Tong liked it so much that he shared that this was the favourite part of Day 2.
Busy road intersection. Many buildings had giant advertising screens
The 3D cat was one of the famous displays. Jun and Mei loved this the most out of all the encounters and sights on Day 2!
Graffiti under the bridge
Takashimaya! The original one
Finally got to the burger joint we traversed a long distance for. Hoped it would be as good as what the reviews said.
The picture did not do it justice. The burgers were juicy and savoury.
We had the whole place to ourselves again.
Perhaps because it was indicated as closed on Google, there wasn’t a single customer. Luckily 🍀, the tenacious father-daughter duo thought they would just check it out to be sure.
We ended up having a very gratifying meal.
Saw the train rumbling by
At the legendary Shibuya crossing - Papa’s favourite part of the day
At the Don Quixote megastore
7 floors of goods
The final stop was at the Christmas market where every stall sold sausages…
Full of young people…
Had hot chocolate and sausages. The blustery wind almost blew our plates away.
The kids had fun by simply playing with a pile of leaves.
They did not know that sweet Papa had secretly called for a cab so that we needed not take the arduous 45 min train journey back to the apartment.
End of the second day!
