Yup, Saturdays were papa-children bonding time while mama went for her beauty treatments before heading to work. Ha...it was a luxury for mama to indulge in these vanities, her alternate weekly dosage of massage or facial. Papa was getting better and more creative as he gained confidence in bringing the two kiddos to explore new or return to favorite haunts.

| Filled with such exuberance! |
| Windy windy windy! |
| Even if the sun was sweltering hot, nothing beat a day at the beach. |
| Ah Gong had painstakingly and lovingly modified the bike so papa could bring both on a ride to anywhere. |
| Ha, if mama were there, I thought I would have to resist the urge to kick Tong's big backside. ha. |
| Picking seashells, feeling the sand slip away with the tides, wriggling the toes as they sank into the muddy sand... |
| Your biao gu and 4th grandaunt joined the expedition! |
| Building sandcastles, making moats, feeling the breeze in the hair, smelling the salty air... |
| What an idyllic life! |
Xun loved being a mermaid. What better way than to bury her legs in the sand and creating a tail for her? Trust 4th grandaunt and aunt denise to come up with such an ingenuous idea!
Xun had such fun with aunt denise that she was rather sad to hear that she would be leaving to further her studies soon and would only come back in two years' time. Well, just tonight, you asked me about biaogu and I replied you would be a big year at 5 years old when she was back. You insisted that you NEVER wanted to grow up, you wanted to remain small and by my side FOREVER. hahaha...I could imagine snickering at you and taunting you with these words when you were a touchy teenager. HA.
Funny, you used to love to play with Grand uncle Brian. On National Day (Fri), you were merrily playing with him, on sat, you decided that you only wanted to play with Biaogu. Fast forward one week, this sat, you seemed to have fallen out with Grand Uncle Brian. You declared that you could only have on playmate and you only wanted biaogu...oh well...whatever rocked your boat. ha.
As an aside, you had not had good eating habits since you turned...2ish? You picked at food and like junk food like the salty biscuits...eggs with crabsticks...sigh...recently, I put down my foot and announced you could not eat snacks if you did not eat rice. So today, you came to me pleadingly thrice asking for snacks and I stood on my grounds. To your credit, you were a very obliging and obedient girl. You understood you did not fulfill your side of bargain and you did not throw tantrums and demand when I rejected your pleas. heh...but mama was soft hearted and let you have a packet of salty biscuits after all.
Tong tong was the ravenous one, he usually tried everything. Recently, he had started spitting out the food he did not like to. Ha, that rascal. He loved SOUPS, especially salty soups. He relished prawn noodles soup. Having a hearty appetite, Tong would often eat more than you! So...I could never solve the enigma of why the gap in height between you and Tong always remained the same though TOng was obviously growing taller and you literally just dunked lotsa milk and survived on junk food and air. heh.
Well well...it was 18 Aug now. We were going for the surprise birthday celebration with papa tm! Gonna blog about it definitely. Pray it was gonna be balmy weather!
