(Jun 17) GBTB with JJ and Jayron

GBTB

What a nice picture of the 5 cousins. Ah gong was so sweet, he came to drive us, then up JJ and all, and sent us to GBTB. After a hearty Mac lunch, we were ready to explore the place.

Ha, attempted a jumping shot, not too successful.

The Blue blossoms season. Wondered what it was with the squished up faces...

Funny poses...

jun gamely posed for photos nowadays

The batty little ones tried to hide among the willowy bushes

The kooky one joined in the fun

anywhere was a good photo spot

We got someone to help us take a group photo...eh...but it turned out to be rather unusual...

loved the blooms

I adored hydrangeas...but I adored my little xun even more

Well, we had all signed up for another year of membership, so we would be coming here together rather frequently.

Ha, jun was captivated by water, as usual

Even a statue could induce so much joy

as they roared with the ferocity of a mighty lion

Ha, taking a "shower" with the cold cold water

they really had a whale of a time and their hair was all damp!

Found another lion statue again

Also went up to the skywalk

Biaoshen went down with Jayron first. A kind visitor asked if we wanted a shot. Ah, she was a way better photographer. Looked how well the shots were taken!

Oh my, JJ seemed to be one of my kids. Ha, nay, papa said NO to the fourth child.

Had ample time before ah gong came to pick us. We rested on the lush lawn and had races.

Snacks...and lots of fun

River Safari

A sad thing happened in our family. Mama's ah gong passed away on the day before we were supposed to go to Legoland. Well, to make it up, we went to River Safari instead. Here, we captured jun's comic reaction to the roaring dinosaur. Well, we had a chinese saying that stated that the bad people were scaredy-cats, ha jun definitely fulfilled that saying.

Tong knew and remembered so much about animals. Ha, it was a pity he was not chosen to be the volunteer at the Reptopia show. Guessed who got chosen? Ya, Jie jie again! She must have perfected the "I'm the ideal volunteer" look with her eager waving of hands.

This was a new addition, I must say, it made a really nice photo spot.

Snacking while waiting for papa to fetch the car. Was just telling papa how fortunate the trio of you were for having such exposure and fun at such a tender age. You knew things I only learnt about when I was in my teens, even adulthood. I never had such exciting experiences of going to the zoo often to look and read up on the exotic animals. You were so blessed to have accumulated immense cultural capital.

Which reminded me of an article. http://www.bbc.com/capital/story/20170614-the-new-subtle-ways-the-rich-signal-their-wealth

"This new elite cements its status through prizing knowledge and building cultural capital, not to mention the spending habits that go with it – preferring to spend on services, education and human-capital investments over purely material goods."

Yup, this article was spot on this new consumption trend. Mama hoped that you would use your privileged positions to benefit and better the society when you grew up. That, it was not enough to use your talents and cultural capital to further your self-interests...that you would grow up to be compassionate and useful citizens..

Biaogu got this photo of jun the other day when we had the rollerblading lesson. Jun jun - so vivacious and full of life...the forceful, feisty little one

Oh AIA had the pop up treat again. Three cheers to the llao llao outlet in Hillion Mall. We were growing more and more enamored of this new mall...now buying groceries was a breeze at the 24 hour NTUC, there were long john, mac and starbucks too..oh what joy.

A blast from the past. Ha. Xun commented that she remembered tong to be a much bigger baby. Ya she was right. 20 month old jun was still a tiny 9.5 kg, while 5 month old tong was already 7.6kg. Well...we proclaimed on all three to be tall and lanky, big and strong, in Jesus' name!

School had started. Back to the old routine by sleeping at 9 again. Looked forward to the Taiwan trip with the cousins in October. And, oh my, a year had flown by and it would be Christmas again.

(Jun 17) Nearing the end of the holidays

More meet up with friends, this time with jie's classmate, Alanis.

Went to Tickle Tickle at J10, the little boy loved all domestic things...perhaps he could really be a househusband. He was taking such good care and being so possessive of these baby dolls. Pushing them in the pram, trolley, car...

Well, he mus have picked up such nurturing skills from his doting big sis. ha.

Would you believe it? It was such a packed Thursday. Swimming with Alanis and Coach Alex in the morning, Tickle Tickle in the afternoon and Night Safari at night. Jie even got chosen as the volunteer! Of course, Tong was disheartened, he never got chosen. He was too young, so we explained that he would stand a better chance when he got older.

The boys were always snug and cuddly together. Jun liked this furry blanket and would definitely seek it and hug it before he went to sleep.

Did this remind you of Tong or Jun? It was Tong!

Jun hardly ever dressed up in such handsome clothes, we never attended any formal functions nowadays. Weddings were a thing of the past when we were younger. The more common gatherings we got invited to nowadays were birthdays and baby showers!

Ha, the balloon sculptures were back. Just went in to nurse jun jun, who was currently 20 months old, and still a puny little one. Ha, but he was certainly getting all mischievous and cheeky. Now, he often ran off with the two bigger siblings to play, the trio would make up some funny games and understand one another perfectly in their little whimsical made-up world.

While I wished for jun to grow bigger sooner...another part of me felt a little reluctant as this would be our last baby...before we knew it, he would be over this cute charming toddling stage. Oh well...we could always cuddle xiaoshu and san yi's babies then.
