Day 3 - off we went to the Farmhouse. After a while, the attractions seemed very similar. 1 petting zoo after another, 1 kids themed park after another. oh well, as long as the kids had fun, it was all good for the adults. did I mention that the "factory outlet stores" were also fairly similar??
Ha, when we first sighted these, someone mentioned that they looked like funeral hearses...
wai po requested for this pic with her eldest grandchild - the jewel in her eye
again, fed the animals at the "mini zoo"... birds, chickens, rabbits, sheep... all sama sama after a while, but the kids just loved the interaction with the animals.
These goats were frisky and hungry! They were bouncing up and down to get at the carrots.
dauntless Jun, indeed. no wonder the Chinese have a saying "a new born calf, does not fear the tiger". He absolutely had no fear of the creatures. Probably only if he got bitten or chased once, then he would learn to be more wary of these animals
Uncle Alston cynically remarked that it was all a conspiracy by the businessmen to make the unwitting visitors pay to buy food to feed the animals...
There were many photos of the kids feeding the animals as er yi had also taken some photos.
mama had become a nag at pestering every one to send the photos over to her as soon as possible or at night in the bungalow when there was wi-fi so I could keep the photos in a chronological order...well..
When I got confused by the order of the photos, I resorted to seeking out what xun was wearing so I could place the photo into the correct day. HA
family pic in front of a dutch structure? the places had an European feel, and it wasn't just at the Farmhouse. Other parks had such similar European structures too. altogether, lovely.
We nicknamed this place "the hobbit town"
Interesting practice over at the theme parks in Bandung. We could always use the admission tickets to exchange for drinks. In this case, we exchanged for milk (or susu as they called it over there). Cold, yummy, delicious milk.
er yi zhang and the iguana. er yi zhang had no fear of reptiles too... he caught a house lizard on our first day in the accommodation!
all the kids wanted to get their tiny hands on the poor iguana. think the iguana was traumatized after a while, the keeper had to take the iguana back and calm it down
She told er yi zhang to rock it like a baby to soothe its frazzled nerves.
giant maze and running structures for little hedgehogs!
little gal posing in front of a beautiful pushcart
interesting lorries that had been decorated and operated as stalls. slightly spooky still...
dutch lady??
It was a lock bridge, similar to something we saw in Singapore
hiked all the way up to the source of the little river bubbling down the small hill
A family photo at the top of the tiny hill
It was such a scenic place, it was perfect for instagram-worthy photos!
Very quaint, very beautifully designed
perhaps like the black and white houses in Shakespeare's hometown? Papa and mama visited that place in our 20s,
everything was neatly manicured to exude that homely charming countryside feeling
jie bought a pink flower clip from this store. Jun and tong were having fun rummaging and putting on the shiny beaded braclets.
Another viewing spot
Oh, the flower clip in her hair! her newest favourite hair accessory.
You could even rent a Dutch costume and pretend to be ambling in the Dutch countryside...
ha er yi zhang and yan jie photobombed san yi's fmaily photo
oh man, mama was missing in this sisters' photo
the hunky men, welcoming our newest addition - Uncle Al...whom we were constantly warning and reminding him to deliberate his decision to marry the messy, atas xiaoyi who loved all things expensive and fancy!
Wai gong did not talk much during the trip, he was just serenely welcoming the company and scenery. Perhaps, it was because he was partially deaf too. Wai po joked that he would not know of it if his children were scolding or criticising him in his face in future when he was old...
To which we retorted, perhaps that was a bliss!
second family photo - our expanding family...well...san yi would have one more kid, then it would be xiaoyi's turn some 6 years later...gosh, xun would be in sec school then? I would be in my 40s. What horror.
Maja House. It was deadly quiet when we went there. Not a guest in sight. We thought it might be closed! Well, considering that it was the fasting month and that this was tucked in the hills, it was a really cool thing to have the whole restaurant to ourselves!
First of xiaoyi's recommendation for a dining place. Nice.
There were beds to lounge on...
The unusual low chairs were surprisingly springy and comfortable to sit on
balmy weather, temperate in the 20s, not as humid as Singapore...pretty refreshing
Took lots of photos before the food arrived
mama wanted to delete the photos in her hp after transferring them onto the computer but tong pleaded for xiao long bao's photo to be left there. he declared that the babies loved to play with him and that he absolutely loved them.
Wow, if all these kids belonged to San yi...she would have her hands SUPER full
Ah, wondered why this picture appeared? There was wifi and tong asked to play with the Boo game.
you you adored tong tong gor gor. On the car journeys, they were always babbling to each other...er yi zhang came up with funny games, like naming the animals we saw at the farms, guessing the chinese names of things, answering questions about policemen, police cars and fire engines...
On the later part of the trip, everyone participated in the "I spy" game. The adults were impressed with tong's general knowledge for he gave hardly used words like "sugar glider"...he delighted in learning about the animal kingdom...well, he did say he wanted to be a zookeeper...
jun only wanted to be carried by papa when gor gor got to be carried too.
On the way to another mall, we saw this giant dinosaur. A pity tong was asleep, he would have been fascinated by it.
Thanks to Uncle Al's meticulous planning, we always had something fun for the kids in the morning, a hearty lunch at some yummy eatery, then shopping to end the day.
Then, it would be home sweet home...While the adults used to play card games till the wee hours in the past, every one went to sleep at 12 plus...then we would set off at 10 plus...well...the fourth day had ended. Two more days before heading home!
