Day 6 - SEAWORLD and Dinner @ Blue Lobster
I was starting to lose track of time...the little imp went over to 4 gor po's room to gatecrash the party the seniors were having at the balcony.
SEAWORLD
At SEAWORLD. We bought a 5-day pass that allowed us to visit Seaworld, Movie World, Wet and Wild and Paradise Country. Well, we only had two days to explore the theme parks; we wished we had more days...but it would be more expensive to buy individual park tickets at the two separate attractions anyway..so...hopefully we could maximise the use of the multi-park pass!
First show - Caught the Paw Patrol crew boogieing away.. Took photos to send to Xiao Shu and Xiaoshen to show Dylan as he loved the Paw Patrol!
We went to Nickelodeon Land. First ride - Carousel. The young ones were rather grumpy as the weather was scorching...but rather sunny than rainy right?
Caught the dolphin show. It was amazing!
Such graceful stunts...
There was a particularly impressive act in which the trainer stood on two dolphins that propelled themselves high into the air, and she plunged headfirst into the pool. I wish the presenter had told us in advance that such a special act was coming up, as I was so taken aback that I didn’t have time to capture the awesome stunt!
Took a baby roller coaster ride with Mei. It turned out to be more exhilarating than Jie and I had expected. We thought it would be a baby kiddy ride but it gave us butterflies in the tummy! The kids said that this ride was based on the SpongeBob show. Apparently this was a driving test route and Sponge Bob failed this test every time. HA
LOL
We took this Viking ship kind of ride. It was a bus in the Sponge Bob show. But this was more exciting (or should I say nausea-inducing) than the usual Viking ride as it not only went up and down, it also spun round and round....dizzying...
Papa and Tong at Shark Bay
Then we ran to Shark Bay to see Tong and Papa in action! We thought we were late and had missed them in action. We were so lucky to be there right at the moment when they walked out of the changing room! Later on, Tong told me that the staff members were really sharp and fitted them into the suits of the correct sizes at first assessment which they merely did visually...WOAH...
Getting ready...
Tong said the extremely salty water kept getting into his mouth, so he took off the snorkel tube and went around with the noodle instead. He had a whale of a time. At the end of the day, he said this swimming with the shark, rays and turtle experience with Papa was one of the more memorable moments of the day in Seaworld.
The kids ran into the underwater gallery, hoping to catch a glimpse of them snorkeling. Funny! Nope they did not see them.
Went back to take the banana ride...
Well, the ever obliging Jie went on the ride with Jun
Ha, Mama caught a pic of us in the mirror as we spun around
Went to catch the performance at the grand stage. Lots of stunts...
Performers water-skiing
Monster truck driving onto the stage...daredevil cyclist zooming down the steep ramp...
Papa was really sweet. He drove 4, 5 Gor Po and Grand Uncle Brian back to the apartment so that they could rest while we explored the rest of the park. That was something I really appreciated about Papa. He had such a generous and big heart.
So, Mama and the 4 kids went to check out the luminous jellies...
We saw this really bizarre sight - instead of those enthralling nebulous blobs gracefully floating in the water, we saw this tank of upside-down jelly which lay on the ground...eh...like sea anemone!
Some light displays...
They were badgering for snow cones...yeah...so we got two! AUD 12 for two. GOSH.
We had nuggets and fries as we waited for Papa to come back. What a peculiar sight. GOSH. A seagull without both of its claws? How did it lose them? In a fight? How did it survive the injury? Mama saw another one that had one set of claws and lost the other one.
Papa came back and bought more fries and nuggets. Well...the kids did not say they needed more food but were still peckish when Papa's food came so they kept nibbling. Papa said THEY WERE THIEVES AND STOLE HIS FOOD. Mei said she did say she would like to eat the fries. Then PAPA said she STOLE his heart. Jie gave a stunned look which smacked of disgust. LOL
We took the baby roller coaster ride with Tong... Papa bumped into his colleague Melissa and her family at the theme park. The 4 kids were allowed to go on the bus ride together. Phew, that was too dizzying for me. Jie was actually regarded as an adult so she would take the ride with Jun for those thrilling ones. YAY...someday, Papa and Mama could relax and wait outside while the four of you took the hair-raising (ya literally with hair flying) rides. HA
Passed by these structures and you had to take photos...
And oh...Papa kissed Mama and Tong said we were disgusting...
Tong saw the polar bear with Papa earlier on... We missed our own polar bear Inuka
Mei's very first scary roller coaster water ride. She barely reached the minimum height of 1.1. We told her to stretch her body when she was being measured and cheered when she made the cut! She said her head was pressed down by a force (Papa said it was called the G-force) and it made her so dizzy but she totally enjoyed it! It was not as scary as the one at Legoland Malaysia. We did not get as wet...Jun and Jie got the brunt as they were in the first seat...but our clothes dried prettty fast in the roasting heat. She was truly a thrill-seeker, just like Jie. We joked that we could now taunt Youyou and Yanjie for being scaredy-cats.
Sad that this ride was closed...The roller coaster looked really cool with its twists and loops...but the children had fun pretending to be water warriors...
Then being persecuted by them
The ride that we kept seeing as we walked around the park...Mei was able to take it! Hooray! Papa did not want to go up though...I guessed he had cold feet...
The wind was really blustery up there...and yeah...my feet really did feel cold... HAHA I know..it was such a lame joke...
We could see the dolphins swimming in the lagoons...the whole place was really pretty...It was nerve-wracking to be so high up there...But the intrepid Meimei took it really well...that little daredevil!
Went to the Penguin show earlier on...we learnt that they pooped every 20 minutes...GOSH
They looked so dapper in their "suits"
Went to the souvenir store before we left. As usual, Papa indulged them so much. Jun picked a mystery egg...
He was hoping to get the rarest one - Fathom but got Scrounge instead. He was rather disappointed but he said he quite liked it too in the end.
Gor bought a sea dragon and made up a story to 4, 5 gor po and Grand uncle Brian about how he caught it when he was in the pool and it transformed into this toy dragon. Papa said he got his story-spinning ability from me...in my defence, I said my stories were based on half-truths, so they were at least partially accurate. This boy was just looney and full of baloney. Ha they rhymed. How NICE.
These guys had a soft spot for soft toys...GOSH...
Papa and I loved the white polar bears... We used to have special bears during our courtship days...so bears always held a special place in our hearts.
Buying yet more candy
Yes, one final photo to show that we had conquered Seaworld.
Back to the van to see a seagull on it! Ha, Pa said the seagull took care of our bus-van when we were gone.
BLUE LOBSTER
We went back to the apartment for a little while and set off for dinner. A cozy quiet diner called Blue Lobster.
Mei was asleep and missed the yummy food...not that she fancied seafood anyway... we cooked instant soup noodles for her when we went back to the apartment
Ah..reminded me of those days when I had to carry a baby while eating food...
The lobster roll was mouth-watering...ermmm. YUMS. Our relatives were SO SWEET, they treated us to this seafood feast. We had fish and chips, breaded lobsters and a lobster roll. AND CHIPS GALORE...well, Jun did not fancy seafood so Papa bought 40 nuggets for him. He ate more than 10...probably did not beat his record of 19 nuggets at one sitting. Who could have known that that little body could eat so many nuggets at one go?
Yay after dinner, the kids stayed at home with the seniors and Papa and Mama went to check out the casino. There was some set-ups for photo-taking...
Papa posted this photo on Instagram and captioned it "No doubt who this is". Papa said we needed to capture the word "The" as it is the definitive article. His nerdiness was so cute sometimes.
A most hilarious moment: The kids bought this sour spray and Tong sprayed it into Grand Uncle Brian's mouth. He gave an utterly aghast and disdainful look and started chasing Tong around the house! Then he dramatically fell onto the floor, right in front of 5 Gor Po and pretended to have been poisoned and rolled over. We laughed hysterically and Mama started yelling "Dead Possum"...It was truly a ludicrous moment...
Then Emmelyn went to Grand Uncle Brian and said that she wanted to see his PJs. well...Grand Uncle Brian was always in his very British-gentleman wear of a shirt, pants and leather shoes (Ya, he wore these to the beach too) so she was wondering if he had PJs or how they looked like. Tong jestingly said that he thought Grand Uncle Brian wore his gentlemanly clothes to sleep and Grand Uncle Brian retorted that he slept "IN THE NUDE". Mama chuckled and exclaimed that I was going to tattle-tale to her mother-in-law! LOL.
Well, I declared that I was going to write this in the blog for all posterity to witness Grand Uncle Brian's very ang moh humour...so..TADA!
Well.. it had been another marvellous day. More adventures tomorrow! Oh JJ and Jayron would be joining us for dinner. How exciting.
How lovely it was to be able to create core memories with 4 Gor, 5 Gor and Grand Uncle Brian. Ah..we were thankful for the good weather and smooth going of everything...Very very grateful.
