All the birthday shots (2025)

Alright, suddenly I got a brainwave and decided to collate a post on all the years of birthday shots. Good thing that I got this creative idea now, and you only had celebrated a few birthdays, making collating the photos as easy as A-B-C. Here goes...

Xun Xun

FIRST!

We were in USA then. papa invited some friends, Lan shushu was there too...and Wenxian shu shu, Uncle Troite's family...it was great fun...we taught them about the Chinese culture of picking objects which would portend what you would embark on when you grew up. You wanted to pick the golf ball and we told you not to and you got frightened and did not pick anything in the end. hahaha...

We ordered this princess cake from Walmart. It was surprisingly good!

You were a little princess, right from the beginning...

I love you, little xun xun.

OOO, mama and papa put on quite a bit of weight in the USA.
2nd birthday!

Oh, we decided to have a big bday bash since everyone missed your first bday. We were renting a 2bedroom in Maysprings (dingy place) then and it had a spacious function room. You were all fluffy and angelic in this dress. You really loved this dress, I let you try it on a few weeks in advance and you did not want to take it off. sigh... you sang the abc song out of the blue just a few days before turning 2.

oooo a castle bday cake. The theme never changed eh?

mama was pregnant with didi...oooo...

3rd birthday!

We decided it would just be a small family affair. Ah gong and ah ma took you to choose the birthday cake. This was rather costly coz it was 3D but ah ma said to go along with what you wanted...ah ma never scrimped on xun or tong...ever...even tho she was very thrifty and did not splurge on herself : )

See, you wanted a princess cake now that you could make your own choices..

You loved this "3" t shirt and lamented that you could not wear it when you turned 4 and was VERY VERY sad about it. Recently, we were in the car heading home and you were blabbering non-stop. I told daddy that you could not stop talking. Later on, you giggled cheekily and said "I could not stop talking" when we were talking about something else...you were absolutely thoroughly cheeky..and had a funny bone...

4th birthday!

With a gigantic Mermaid cake...

and sulking when didi blew out 3 of the candles before you could...

.

See, the culprit was pretending to be oblivious to the displeasure he had caused in his jie jie..

5th birthday

A joint celebration with didi at Solei, Aunt Wanping's house. A really lovely sky deck and xun was all enamoured with Elsa then.

6th birthday

A simple celebration at school, the first and last one at Arise

with your favourite cousin

and with our loved ones at Marzuki

7th birthday

Jun thought he was the birthday boy and relished all the attention and fun.

8th Birthday

Laugh, I did not know why, but I could not actually find a photo of jie's 8th birthday celebration's photo. This would have to suffice...oh my oh my...must make it a point to document properly from now on.

9th birthday

Still could not believe that this would be the last year when you were having a single digit age. Papa was away in the UK so we celebrated your birthday without him. He sent a pretty bouquet of flowers to you though...heh...but I found out that you did not fancy flowers very much like me. You would want a soft toy anytime. Ha. Blessed 9th birthday, sweetheart.

10th

2020:  A new millenium dawned on us...perhaps it was time to start a new blog entry for all the photo shots! Yay, Jie's age now consists of TWO digits.

11th...woooo a tweenager

The waterfall cake that looked way better than it tasted...

12th birthday...

She has been the one with fancy taste in expensive cake. Papa and she went to Swensens to get an ice cream cake but there was none for sale so they bought this tiny, super expensive ice cream cake...

13th birthday

For some weird reason, I could not find Jie's 13th birthday celebration photo.HAHAHA...perhaps Papa took the photos and I did not save them...

14th Birthday

Could not fathom why I could not find the bigger kids' birthday photos in recent years...HAHA but I could find Mei's and Jun's....Jie's weird GEP friends came over to play

15th Birthday!

What a beautiful age to be at - away from the childish years and truly enjoying the freedom and independence of being a teenager, but not yet saddled with the stress of exams.. it was the year Jie turned vain too

TONG!

first birthday. First function at The Linear Condo. Rather small and cosy place...

Looking all dapper

Was awfully hard to take a good shot of you coz you already knew how to walked at 11+ months (you were way faster than jie jie) and was tottering all over the place on your birthday

As usual, papa would remark, "what a good looking" family...

SECOND birthday

Third birthday

Tong was into Thomas Train then...but he changed his fancy to Mcqueen in mid 2015, and declared he could give away all the Thomas toys and clothes...alas...

 4th birthday

a simple celebration in school...and another cake-cutting at ah ma's house earlier on...two McQueen cakes this year..I wondered what would catch his fancy next year

5th birthday

Celebrated thrice - first at wai po's house

Then at arise

It was the first time Tong had an ice-cream cake from Swensens and all the kids in the class loved it! We even played a piƱata game, it was a pity that Jie could not join us.

6th birthday

Ha, could not recall why tong was in home clothes, but the little boy was surely elated that he got to celebrate his birthday with his classmates again. yeah, it was an ice cream cake and the pinanta game again! Look, jun had grown older and could appreciate ice cream now.

7th birthday

Ha, the final birthday celebration we had as a family of 5 before mei mei popped out. Tong chose the "Jack Jack" picture. Jack Jack was as cute and erratic as Jun.

This was when Tong was still scrawny and looked like a bigger version of a toddler.

8th birthday

The cute lad put on a lot of weight after a year long of having recess at school. Wa haha. All rotund and chubby now, he had beefed up significantly and had love handles. Ha. Happy 8th birthday, Tong.

9th Birthday

Last single digit birthday!

10th!

Yes, ice cream cake again...always an ice cream cake...Xun likes chocolate, Tong likes vanilla and hates chocolate...so the ideal choice is cookies and cream, which the little ones love as well..Yay, first 2-digit birthday...

11th Birthday

Ya I also could not find Tong's birthday celebration photos in 2023. WEIRD. look at how BUFF Tong was.

12th Birthday

Celebrated Tong's birthday at Er YI's home

13th birthday

Officially a teenager, alas, unable to enjoy children admission fees anymore...

Jun Jun

1st birthday

We had two parties, one on Sat night at Linear for ah gong's side of relatives. We had BBQ and buffet food. On Sun, we held it at Solei at the clubhouse. It was picturesque with the pool in the background, an al fresco area and the airconditioned club house.

2nd Birthday

We had just returned from a trip to Taiwan with the cousins. It was such great fun to go travelling with them! It was the first of many overseas trips together.

The boys got matching Tiger tops from H&M and went on to wear this top to other outings, e.g. trip to Bintan. Ha...Cheers!

3rd Birthday

Jun turned 3!

4th birthday

Cheeky pie and his huge Paw Patrol cake

5th birthday

Strangely, I could not find any decent birthday shots for Jun's 5th birthday celebration. Beats me.

6th birthday

Our handsome little Korean bae...

I love the way all of you looked so happy together...

7th Birthday

Could not find Jun's 2022 birthday photos too..but here was valiant Jun riding an ostrich when we went with the cousins to Desaru

8th Birthday

Jun invited Alice and Irvine over to play.

9th birthday

At Ah Ma's home

Had friends over after playing at the indoor playground...yes the constant person was Alice

Mei Mei

1st birthday

The very first birthday shot for Mei Mei. Papa had wanted a grand party as we only celebrated each child's first month and first birthday with parties and Mei Mei was the last baby in the house. Well, due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak, the bungalow that papa had booked was slated to be used as a quarantine facility and we chose to have a cost BBQ dinner with close friends and family at Er Yi's condo. Ah...San Yi won this free bubble tea set up in some giveaway so we enjoyed yummy bubble tea (something ALL of us liked, even little MM who would whine and try to suck the pearls up the gigantic straw)!

2nd

Yayyy Mei was 2!

May the terrific TWO begin!

3rd

And she turned three

FOUR!

Fabulous 4

5th Birthday

Celebrated at Legoland as per the Royal Highness' request

 To be continued...
