most of the posts so far have been done by your awesome mummy. daddy hasnt written much here, also because daddy doesnt have many photos of you 2, so a post without photos really is kind of boring. daddy works in the military (just to put it down for recording purposes hah), and in 2013, we still cant bring camera-enabled devices into camp. i know by the time you all read this, things would probably be very different already, but oh well for now...
daddy's time with you two, is mostly on weekends, particularly on saturdays. saturdays are designated as daddy time, since mummy gets her half day off from you 2, and she goes on her spas/facials/what-have-yous, essentially her "me time" alone. Admittedly, it was a struggle initially for daddy to take care of the 2 of you. mummy always makes it look so easy handling you 2, but for me, i was pretty worried at the start. Just Xun alone, no problem. Daddy's very confident in handling Xun alone, because Xun is all big now, and she can articulate what she wants. Tong on the other hand, is quite a challenge. He screams and shouts when he cannot get what he wants (especially when he was younger!), and he's really clingy to mummy. Daddy was really scared on the first sat alone with you 2. However, things got better with time; Tong became much more manageable, and i'm better with him now. and also because i now know that i can manage you 2 alone! Daddy has brought you 2 swimming, to parties (friends always marvel at how Super Daddy can carry you 2 at the same time, while lugging a bag haha), to the beach, to macritchie even. Well, it's not much compared to what Super Mummy can do, but i'm still quite proud of myself heh. More importantly, our wonderful sats together has give mummy the time and space to take a break, and she's happier too. happier mummy = happier daddy, simple logic heh. and of course, it has bonded the 3 of us more, and you 2 are more comfortable with daddy now.
Recently, we went on one of our more adventurous trips, when we took the bus + MRT to the Singapore Discovery Centre! haha. it wasn't really by choice, cos daddy's Umi car was sent to the workshop (Xun loves to call the black merc, our Umi car!) It was another milestone for Daddy, because i had absolutely no idea how the trip would turn out. I heard that you 2 love bus + train rides, but i had no idea whether the 45 min bus ride + 10 min train ride + 15min walk in the hot sun would be too much for you 2. To make matters worse, Daddy forgot to bring my phone & even forgot to pack spare diapers + wet wipes for you 2. all i had in my bag, were my ipad, your water bottles, and some snacks. only discovered the missing items when we got onto the bus haha. but daddy decided to take a risk and carry on with our adventure. We made it successfully to the SDC, but i must say, the journey was more fun/longer than the time we spent in SDC hahahaha. unfortunately SDC was dark and is more suited for older kids (with computer screens and augmented-reality stations), so the 2 of you basically clung on to me as you hurried me through the exhibits haha. at least we had some fun doing the colouring when we got to the lounge again. we also saw some of daddy's colleagues (Chief of Airforce was there, and so was the Hd JMPD, and the lady pinched Tong's cheeks. think Tong is a lady-killer haha).
Fortunately, ah gong and ah ma came to pick us up after our short adventure, and daddy's carelessness went unpunished haha. a short but certainly memorable trip. i look forward to more adventures with the little ones!
