We loved visiting the libraries, in fact, one of the best things about moving to Bukit Panjang, besides being near to Wai po so she could take care of the two of you while mama worked, it was being near to Plaza library...it was an advantageous move, there were a few good primary schools to choose from (ah...the stress of balloting for pri 1), food choices were aplenty...a new mall was opening up next to Plaza...how thrilling, one more place to hang out.
Before heading to the library, we went to Westgate Wonderland to play...After frisking in the water for awhile, we went to play at the dry area. For some reason, the two of you loved riding on this dragonfly...not much fun to me but it tickled two of you...
We did not know how these worked the first time we came. Now, mama discovered, you could hit the butterfly stickers and the tulips would chime! How melodious.
What a beautiful flower fairy! You loved to dress up in your dainty sparkly dresses and tiaras, often attracting compliments from strangers. well, you definitely had a good sense of dressing...
We went to the $10 barber shop as tong's hair was getting long. It was a good experience as usual, with tong getting a free joy ride and both got free candies after the hair cut.
They even got a kids' apron! It had pictures of cartoon characters cutting and getting their hair cut. so cute!
ah, and wai po would say, what a very handsome boy. In fact, sometimes, we would be strolling, and Xun would turn and gaze at tong and gushed, "mama, tong tong is a really handsome boy!" Laugh...what adoration you had for your little impish brother.
OK at Jurong East Library. First thing that caught your attention: The massive stage.
There were many different corners, the place was so beautifully decorated...
It was like a haven for little ones...
The books were varied and more interesting too! We picked up some awesome ones which we hardly saw at Plaza Library. The eagle-eyed jie jie had been really good at picking out THomas train books for tong tong. There was once we were all at the same shelf, I missed out the thomas book right under my nose but u picked it out!
BOth of you loved the purple couch, it was so big that all 3 of us could snuggle in it.
There are little corners of toys, puppets, costumes, wooden puzzles...
A carpeted enclave for reading too
Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience. Only bummer was Xun got stomach flu after the trip. That reminded mama of how Aunt Val said JJ got sick both times he visited the library. We went to the library subsequently again and Xun got mild diarrhoea. Aunt Val thought it was the puppets, but we did not even play with that! Hmmm...oh well...she said Xun was building up her immune system.
It always pained mama to see the little cuties sick...it worried me ceaselessly, making me imagine the worst things possible...
One night, we were in the car, and mama made up a story of how papa would walk xun down the aisle and put her hand into the groom's, and he would bark,
If you make her cry, i will make you cry *papa roars*
If you bully her, i will make you cry *papa roars*
if you make her do chores, I will make you cry *papa roars*
If you do not give her money to buy things, i will make you cry *papa roars*
and so on
This amused the two of you so much, you were chortling and asking for more...so mama repeated it a few times, changed it to papa telling tong to do these for the bride, but papa mewed instead of roaring...and xun talked about how she and tong would buy houses next to us so we could have dinner together EVERY DAY!
papa asked who would pay, xun said papa at first, but papa said her hubby should pay. Then mama asked who would cook? Xun said papa would do it. Then papa said tong should pay and cook. and tong said he would kick papa out of the house! ha....
papa was very amused by tong tong's antics, he was always saying something silly or funny...and he would imitate papa in saying the darnest things coz papa always kicked his backside and told him he would kick him out of the house!
I love you so much, xun and tong. You are the greatest gifts from God.
