(Sep 14) Kids said the funniest things

Random events happening in September...it was gonna be a collection of photos with funny anecdotes...

We were celebrating Mid Autumn Festival at Chai Chee...tong in his Thomas PJs oredi...

You brought the handmade lantern done up with Waipo as you did not want to bring your noisy singing ones...oh...and our neighbour, Auntie Grace, bought an Elsa lantern for you! Ah Gong bought you the Ariel and Anna one but could not find Elsa. How blessed it was to get on the actual day of MAF from our neighbour!

The celebration at Chai Chee was really gay. There were different corners for different things...

like Ge-tai with flamboyant emcee and singers...

balloon sculpture stall...too bad we were a tad too late to catch the popcorn and candy floss stores!

A corner for flying paper aeroplanes...

You could decorate your own lanterns and hang them up here...

Tong's balloon sword popped and he was all teary over it...he left it on the table and sobbed...

Tea appreciation corner...

Calligraphy corner...we wrote your names!

tata! Eh...mama did not think he did a very good job as the words were not aligned and the strokes were shakey...wai po probably could do a prettier one!

ha making mooncake with the mould

Eh I did not think it was all that hygienic but the two of you were enthusiastic to try your own handmade snowskin mooncakes without filling...yeh...so I gave the go-ahead...

Xun exclaimed that she loved it and wanted tong's too..eh after a few bites, you changed your mind..

It was very very enjoyable : )

We bought a new fishing toy...tong was not too skillful at it yet...but he would in time...

We went for a BBQ at some SAF chalet and it was gorgeous...like a hotel in Bali...

We brought marshmallows to toast...ha...tranquil setting with clear water and lush trees

One day, tong tong told me that his tummy was so full that his baby was gonna come out...hmmm..what?
Just today (18/9) at the fire engine playground, tong said he was the mama and jie and I were the babies...So tong made us sleep, he cooked for us, chased jie jie when she was cheeky and ran around...

Going out on a journey to have an adventure again..could not recall where we headed to though...I sent this pic to papa as mama thought her dress was a tad low...you know, once upon a time, mama would wear outrageous clothes to WORK, yup, to work. It was ridiculous, see through off shoulder-tops, togas, tight dresses...eh...but mama totally...could not bring herself to do this nowadays..I supposed, this was what they meant by..."behaving your age"?

anyway i covered up with a sweater...ha...

At ah gong's house...tong with his funny upturned hat. Well..tong was the sensitive sort and got very sheepish and upset when people pointed out the funny things he did..he dun like it...oh well...

ha the poor tired xun. One day, we went to TOTT playground, as per our tuesday routine. Yup, every tuesday, we would lunch at the shophouse, a bowl of prawn noodles soup and kosong prata..then we would go to TOTT for desserts, like lemongrass jelly or waffle ice cream.  mama applied for the free TOTT card so there was a 30% discount, so it was really affordable to dine there and you two enjoyed playing at the air conditioned playground : )

We walked past all the BMWs at the showroom and you recalled how I once told you that papa loved the cars. there. You said to keep it as a secret and we would bring papa here to buy a car when he needed to change his car. I told papa..his heart totally melted...

recently, tong got into this charming habit of saying "yup" and "nope" with stress on the "p" sound to everything we asked him..hahaha

very strangely, he loved to sleep on his tummy and wriggle to the edge of the bed...

Tong, you really adored your jie jie...You were having this cantankerous episodes of intense whininess...I sort of reckoned it boiled down to how insecure you felt about your position in the house...and how you both adored and loathed your sis...

on one particular day, after I talked to you about how you would always be special as you and jie would be special as jie and how I loved you just as you were...your moodiness lifted...hmmmm

you always looked out for the members of the house, making sure they were in time to catch the lift...you were always anxious that jie would miss the lift...you also got panicky about missing the buses/trains too..you would hurry us..

there was one day when jie jie fell down very badly after her scooter went over a kerb. IN her loud tears, she cried out, "tong tong...my tong tong", wanting you to go and sayang her...eh you were rather nonchalant about it but you did so anyway...

You liked standing under the "waterfall" as papa termed it and were not afraid of the water gushing over your eyes...though you were usually quite squeamish about me washing your hair...aiyo the two of you could take an hour to play in the bath tub, making up silly stories

oooo jie loved to wear matching clothes with her bear. ha...they did look cute together. mama and jie had quite many matching clothes and I did not realise you felt left out : ( when we talked about wearing something similar together, you would clamor that you wanted to wear the same as me too...sorry tong...

there was one day when you dug out a HUGE snot. You asked if you could eat it, I answered, "probably not"...and you gave me a smug smile and said, "I ate it!" So I asked how did it taste, you gave a resounding, "Good." hahah i told papa and he said boys would always be disgusting and the princessy jie would probably be grossed out.

I told jie and she turned to you and egged you on to demonstrate it to her AGAIN...hmmm i supposed she had this impish streak in her...

ooo check out the big star on the cute perky little butt...

We went to catch a mandarin show about a tadpole finding his mama. It was a great show! It prompted xun to ask a lot of questions after that...and we could act out the show using Xun's frog and the tadpole craft. The lady gave us an extra piece and we slotted it under Khloee's door...haha...

that day, you told me that na na jie jie told you she was gonna watch "don't let the pigeon drive the bus" and you remarked you were gonna watch it. You reminded me that we needed to watch it...hmmm peer pressure was starting young...a few months ago, you saw the poster and was not interested. Then we saw the pamphlet again at the library and you changed your mind.

Goodman Arts Centre was quaint and cheery. I heard Cafe Melba would inflate a bouncy castle on weekends, maybe we should come with papa soon.

papa posted this pic of mama and tong wearing matching pink clothes on FB and his friend thought I WAS PREGNANT. AGHAST...totally FLABBERGASTED. DUMBFOUNDED. snort...you know...it was immensely tough to maintain a svelte figure after having two kids ah...

I edited tong's naked photo and you wanted to have a go too..so you chose all those cutsy icons...SO LIKE YOU...so pretty and delightful...

I had been giving you $2 weekly - $1 for pocket money, $1 for helping out at home...and last week I gave you an extra $1 for being exceptionally helpful, you were washing your own potty and bringing it out every night...that was so sensible and sweet of you...

So this week, you were so pleasant too...i gave you $3...in the bedroom, tong broke down, he sobbed that he wanted $3 too...hahaha...so i asked if he had been upset these few days (he had been giving you trouble) coz he wanted an extra $1 too...he said yes pitifully...I was not too sure if he had been nursing that hurt for one week...but at that moment, yeh, the floodgate was broken and he was tearing piteously...haha...

That day, papa brought the two of you to East Coast. Along the way back, xun got sleepy and tong tong obliged sweetly by letting jie jie lie on his "broad" shoulders...

papa recounted that tong started to feel sleepy too. So he got the two of you off the trishaw and walked around and splashed some cold water on your faces. Xun got freshened up but the unsteady tong succumbed to the zzzz monster...

So you let his nap on your laps all the way home...

I wished I could record all the amusing things the two of you did and said, everything...word for word...I wished I could keep you at this stage forever...then I recalled the book we read before...how if you remained so little, you would miss out experiencing so many things...

hmmm pastor prince had been preaching alot abt the rapture..not too sure when it would happen, according to him, it would be soon...but I wanna see how the two of you grow up...whom you would marry...what jobs you would do...

One day, in teacher john's house toilet, you commented you really loved the SPACIOUS house and would buy it from him when he moved house...hmmm I commented you needed a lot of money...you said you would be in the army and drive a plane and teach piano...

and tong whined that he did not want to do anything because he was a "nothing" boy but he wanted to stay with me in the same house...i asked if he would bring his wife and kids, he replied, "yes!"

maybe we need a rich and nice son-in-law...weee....weeeee.....Love you two to bits, as green as grass, as blue as sea, as high as the tallest mountain, as bright as the brightest star...
