(4 Sep Thurs) Flower Dome again!

A bright and balmy Thursday, we took the the public transport to the Flower Dome!

The kids sat on their own in the front seat, it was elevated so tong tong liked it. I sat behind and thought about how independent they were!

We alighted at Farrer Park MRT. There was a beautiful mural...had to take a picture..

Another long journey on train. it was lik 40 min on bus...then another 40 min on the train...

Changed at Promenade MRT, they adored this raindrop sculpture..ha

they said this was a mud puddle, made by the raindrops...

tong was intrigued by the mud puddle...

Cool...empty train...

At promenade MRT. We took the underpass to Flower Dome, never knew about this passageway though I came to MBS for church service every week...

IT was adorned with many murals...check out this psychedelic one. Xun and I were in matching pink wear.

Lots of pictures of flowers and trees...

long and spacious underpass...the children just ran amok...

oooo at the other side of the Gardens by the Bay. It was near Mid Autumn Festival so they had these captivating massive lantern displays...the theme was countries so they had the people in traditional costumes and iconic buildings of each country...

We took the buggy $2 for xun and me each while tong rode free...

took us to meander round some displays...ooo the DUTCH

hmmmm what was this about?

Japan

SPain?

Wish we had time to see all, we should really make a trip down one night.

ooo iridescent display of flowers..made up of tiny tiles..

We walked to Pollen restaurant and stopped by to take a picture of some flower display...

What a splendid view of the skyline...floral and fauna galore with our signature flyer...

and the very pretty flower fairy

Ate at Pollen as usual. Entry to Flower Dome was free if we dined at Pollen...expensive fare but rather delish. We would always order the cream pasta, which was not in the menu but they would do it for the kids...and mama would order a side dish to go with the pasta...ah...got to be economical la...

tong suddenly developed this double eyelid in his left eye one day! The same side as papa...amazing...he was one really handsome attractive boy.

being his usual cheeky self again..

ok, lunch was over, got to check out the orchid extravaganza...Flower dome always had new themes, so it was a new experience everytime. It really was a pleasant place to hang out, I mean, the scorching heat and all, how relaxing it was to immerse oneself in a peaceful and scenic environment, fully "air conditioned"...

erm but it took us close to 2 hours to reach here via public transport. We needed to take a taxi or activate ah gong next time. no doubt the two of you loved to take public transport...eh...but it was really kinda tedious...

Stunning display

ha you loved to check out this display which would show different flowers...you would ask me to close my eyes, then led me to this "surprise"...3 in total, 2 on the upper deck and 1 on the lower...

saw some petals and picked them up

dazzling blooms

looked like a wedding arch

We tried to snap a shot of the jumping kids...eh tong was not very cooperative...

papap commented that xun's neck looked so short...

i loved the purple blooms

this place would be ideal for wedding shoots

there was an event in the function room...i thought the hanging lights looked magical!

ooo following the dirt path to a tower...wondered what we would see inside...

it was stupendous...rows and rows of orchids...

orchids reaching up to the sky...

simply astonishing ...i was awestruck

ha xun helped us take a photo...

mama edited these two photos...ahhhh...made the blooms seem so vibrant eh?

Climbing to the second level...xun liked to make funny faces..

finally a we-fie

Played the interactive games again before leaving...

the two of you said you wanted to lift this colossal pot

Taking the buggy back to Promenade Station

Amazing eh? such a huge lantern display!

You wanted to cross the bridge as you wanted to walk under the hearts...the sleepy tong wanted to be carried. So i carried the big pack of rice all the way to MBS and the bus stop...sigh...

We took a bus at MBS to change to 171 at Esplanade...then both of you fell asleepso I thought we might as well took the bus all the way to Northpoint to eat and play.

We came to this playground twice but were unable to play both times..once it was raining and another time it was under maintenance...

Finally, we got the chance to play...quite an old playground...not too many fanciful things to play with, but heh, both of you had fun. We went to the foodcourt to eat and you wanted to explore more after that! So we went to Kiddy Palace, Lego shop and played on the joy rides outside the arcade.

Took 171 home from the bus interchange and it was almost 10 when we reached home. What a very exhausting day for mama, we started out at 12! It was a fun-filled day, definitely memorable. oh i wished we would have many more such adventures ahead, dearies.
