(2 Jun 15 Tuesday) Visit to the doctor and Singapore Art Museum

So the children had been waiting eagerly for this day, would the third baby be a boy or a girl? Xun and mama were rooting for a girl...mama read some theory somewhere that if the first and third children were of the same gender, the second child would not exhibit the middle child syndrome. tong wanted a boy. papa showed preference for a girl but decided to side with tong so the boys chose boy.

TADA! xun and mama screamed when Dr Chang announced that it was a boy. Xun had an utter look of dismay...till today, she was still lamenting that she wished it was a girl...and she asked dad dad to have another one so she could get a sister. erm...we queried, but if it was yet ANOTHER BOY? 3 brothers? Laugh.

We had lunch with papa and went to United Sq for the surprise outing with Auntie A. Xun missed her dearly and specifically asked to meet her during the June hols.

There was some dinosaur exhibit going on...We learnt that Singkids had closed down! My goodness.

Auntie A suggested the Singapore Art Museum at 8 Queen Street as it was having a special exhibit called "imaginarium" which targetted little children and had many sensory activities...

First, the swings outside the building...so vintage..I loved this kind of swings...

Check out the enormous Shoes on Auntie A. hahahhaa they looked like they were going to jump out from the picture!

The first room - it got giant tetris pieces...you kids were just stacking pieces randomly together

I like the colourful background, depicting the ubiquitous HDB blocks, and there were some puppets for one to stick in different homes

one could use one's imagination to create anything - a climbing structure, a balancing beam, a slide, a see saw...

We spent quite some time in it...then decided to explore the rest of the rooms as Kay's dad would be coming to fetch them soon

The doodles were soooooo interesting and fascinating, they were on the walls at the staircases leading up to the second storey

The Moon Room - children could scribble on the walls, decorate a letter and post it to Mr Moon

Another room showcased some animation films done by local students. There was one disturbing show though, of a daddy falling in love with another woman and leaving the family. That distressed xun who kept asking, " It is wrong to love another person right?" Hmm wonder what values were this film trying to inculcate?

Up up up to the third level

The pomp pomp room, where the kids could use yarn to make their own pomps pomps. It was delightful that they had a stamp corner for every room. We were supposed to have a booklet whereby we could collect stamps and complete activities...ha but the museum had run out of them

The children had initially wanted to hang the pomps pomps on the wall

but decided against it in the end and brought all of them home. HA

the cute little tong asked for a photo after the girls had finished posing for theirs.

ooooo, this was one quirky room. You could find different shapes in the containers nearby and you could fit them onto this psychedelic mural

this was barmy...an EGG room?

ooooo and the intriguing glow in the dark room

Ah, our favourite room of all - the CANDY HOUSE

ooooooo a chandelier made of CANDIES?

The children could decorate these white bare trees with candies

the children staked out one tree as theirs and were busily trying to fill it up with candies

grabbing more from the container

such adorable displays

The two munchkins were pretending to have a CANDY feast...

We left at 530pm, just in time to catch a double decker 190 home, avoiding the office crowd. Alas, tong fell asleep and mama had to carry this humongous sack of potatoes from the bus stop at Wai po's house to Linear.

A thoroughly enjoyable. Who said Singapore was a boring place? The June holidays was going to be filled with lots of thrills and fun.
