Christmas Weekend!

Its the festive period! Super busy weekend, and so i thought i would want to document this too. So here goes!

Started the weekend with a wedding dinner for my ex-colleague and it turned out to be like a D&D for Sembcorp, with 4 tables of rowdy past/present Sembcorp staff at the wedding. Always have a soft spot for Sembcorp, even though the company is no longer the one i recognise. Culture and people have changed.

With Celest, who is like a younger sister, but crazy

Group of friends that I still keep in close contact with. 3 of us are with SMRT too haha

The 3 of us formed the Transformation Management Office (TMO) back in 2017/2018 when Sembcorp was undergoing a transformation. Nightmare, but i enjoyed working with this team. Han Kwang is doing very well now, and is the CEO of Geneco, so proud of him!

The HR family. So much to be thankful for, where do i even start. These people made my life in Sembcorp so much more bearable. And who can forget Mr Gan, who was my first mentor in the corporate world. Forever grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to step out into the private sector.

More pics of the HR family. Just tot i look not bad in this pic hahahahaha, so should upload

The food was impressive too. First dish, and i still remembered to take pics

Last dish that was worth a mention too. Coconut ice cream! In between, food was good too but forgot to take pictures hahaha

Sunday was fun too. We attended the Christmas service, and then had an early steamboat dinner at mum's place. The night was obviously still young, and our sisters and their families came over to our house for mahjong and fun. Its amazing how the kids can now play together (generally peacefully), thus allowing the adults to chill and hang out together. And of course, the gift exchange that the kids enjoy soooo much. Thank you everyone, for the lovely gifts!

Monday, was another fun day. Went to my big uncle's house in Yishun to meet the relatives on mum's side. While we hardly meet up, but once we met, everything felt so familiar, as if we have always been meeting up. Especially with some relatives like my dearest wang ping 姐姐. Even Yiting got in on the act and the 3 of us had a fun time, laughing the whole afternoon!

The fun 3!

The 2nd generation chatting at the table

The 3rd generation was either binge watching netflix, or gaming

The gamer group

Spotted this photo on big uncle's wall and was reminded that this was the last complete picture taken for the entire extended family. This was in Mar 2018, at Alvin's wedding. Ah ma (my mum) was very sharp and insisted that we take this photo as she recognised this was probably one of the last opportunities that the entire family would be present. Many attended Alvin's wedding as they gave ah ma face. Sadly, some of my relatives have since passed away, or are not in a physical condition to meet up anymore.
Wang Ping 姐姐 taught us to use the app Meitu to edit away the background noise and to add frames too haha. These 2 were my attempts at using Meitu

After the lunch gathering, we hosted mama's friend (Uncle Nelson & family) to dinner at our place. They are mama's dear friends and their kids are so lovely. Thankful that all the kids get along, and we are now considered as family friends! We even want to vet his eldest kid (Javon)'s girlfriend haha. Our jiejie got along well with Megan, and both of them were watching netflix together. Javon was also exceptionally patient n sweet, and helped Jun build his lego gift. And of course, the 2 young darlings got on swimmingly, and were playing with the toys together. Meimei was so in love with Sophie!

The only pic we took together that night hah. The 2 darlings were matchy matchy in purple!

Jun's gift that i had to finish building LOL

Shall end off this post with some pics of presents that I bought for myself hahaha

The 3 SMRT scale models that i ordered on Christmas day and were delivered that same evening. Always love such toy models hah.

The SMRT models now take centre stage together with my other SMRT and RSAF items. Always take pride in the organisations that i belong to heh

And the last pic of the night... the PS5 that we got for ourselves! Hahaha. Facebook reminded us that we got the PS4 in 2017 (6 years ago!) at christmas too. Heh. Well, technically we got it at the 11.11 sale, but we knew its the christmas gift for ourselves.. so there... Blessed Christmas to my dear readers. Hope you had a great Christmas too. Here's to an awesome 2024 to us all!
