It was yet another pleasantly cool morning. We went to Lucas's primary school to cheer him on for his sports meet event.
There were carnival stalls, throngs of people, students doing their warm up exercises - a cacophony of sounds in the air.
It was a "pass the hula hoop" contest and Lucas's class came in first!
We headed to Jingyuan Farm after that. I thought it looked familiar.. perhaps we came here with Er Yi they all several years ago
the gargantuan hippos
The capybaras were adorable...and really practical creatures. They sat there meekly and let us touch them when we had food in the cups but sprang off and did not allow us to go near when we had finished feeding them the leaves!
Jun found TOTO again.
The alpaca had such lovely soft wool.
The deer were gentle and sweet too.
Not the crazy rams who went around butting people with their hardy horns..and definitely not the frisky goats who chased Jie around when she was the last one to have some food in the cup...they were really aggressive and would jump up to snatch food off your hand.
Jun was so scared that Lan Shu Shu had to carry him and put him down at a safe spot.
Lan Shushu said they added new facilities in recent years. There was a stage and nice bean cushions for the visitors
There were air-conditioned tents that could be rented if one was having a BBQ during summer
a gigantic sand pit with play structures and swing beds
A merry-go-round
the lazy boy
thai food in the pavilion
A free train ride
We went back to the hotel to have a nap then walked over to Lan's home. Bought some pastries and turned out that they were from a famous store!
Lan Shushu took Papa and Mama to a massage parlour. It started with a herbal foot bath then a full body massage and finally concluded with a most relaxing foot massage.
The menu by Chef Lan! Impressive list.
My favourite was the salted prawns. Grilled to perfection, they were savoury and chewy.
Lan shushu's family often had extended family gatherings. Notice that ornament hanging on the door? We bought it for Lan Papa the last time we visited.
Ah, how lovely to have friends in an overseas country. We felt so loved and so spoilt...ah...and we definitely put on some weight after the ceaseless feasting on luxurious and fattening food!
