A long 1.5 hour drive to the aquarium from our hotel. We did not have breakfast and decided to stop by a restaurant called Potama which was recommend by Lan Shushu and Yiyi.
It was a nice enclave of restaurants, pretty stylish and new, but a little hidden so we would not have come to this place if not for the recommendation. Spam toast. They were so good. We also had the special Gong Cha’s strawberry Ruiting tea - Christmas edition and it was really refreshing!
She looked so adorable in this get-up.
Had banana chocolate crepe too. A most satisfying meal.
Walking to the aquarium. Yay, tummies all filled, we had the whole day to explore the place.
Pretended to be waiting for a bus at the bus stop
Rather drama like
View of the sea from the aquarium. Did you see the Blue Seal ice cream van?
The landscape was beautiful. Along the drive, we saw rock formations, mountains, stretches of beaches, dense vegetation, sparkling sea…
Had to take multiple shots before Jie approved one
See that gigantic lobster? Yums.
Parrotfish, one of them was named the Singapore parrotfish, could not recall if it was this one.
Pufferfish! Very venomous but a Japanese delicacy.
My favourite exhibit was the spectacular ink escape ploy executed by this lone squid.
I had never imagined how the ink would look like…and it was actually kind of vicious and gooey, like mucus…the poor S worker was cleaning the tank while the wacky squid kept squirting canons of ink,,,
Papa said it was frightened by its very own nuclear clouds of ink…
The strands remain very sticky even after a while. It was most fascinating to me. Rather creepy looking though.
Went to the theatre and had a wonderful view of the whale shark.
The kids had fun at this cylindrical display
What was this? Jie took this photo…ermmm
The displays shared intriguing information. The clams looked different when viewed from the top and from the side.
All dull and drab
But they were glistening in the water when viewed from above
The electric clam…
Its edges actually flashed blue as they reflected the surrounding lights so it was like a lightning show. It was most electrifying to watch!
Learnt lots of new things
Papa wanted a picture of megaphone yappertron Meimei with this shark but Meimei refused,
Only Jie could make Tong do zany pics… mostly coz she threatened him with withdrawal of some privileges…
Walking to the Emerald Beach
A pretty sight to behold - the sky, the fine white sand and the fine young lady
Mei didn’t like the sand very much
A ravishing sight to behold
Went to the store and they bought something each. Tong had found a loophole. He said when he could convince everyone to buy something, Papa would pay for all of them so he always conspired with the rest to get gifts!
Another lookout point
I liked this picture! There were times when Papa and Mama were not as lovey as now…and I hoped you kids would build strong relationships with your partners and always prioritise them above the children…coz when the marriage is strong, the children flourish. Papa always said that he loved the children because he loved Mama who adored the kids…but he really doted and enjoyed having you all, well…most of the time. Heh heh heh
Caught the dolphin show. The crowd was really encouraging, clapping along to the catchy songs and cheering when the dolphins performed a stunt successfully.
They even had someone dressed up as Santa.
This act was funny - the trainer fed the dolphin one fish and it would spit it out. She tried two and it continued to spit it out. In the end, she had to throw an entire handful of fish.
The grand finish - all the dolphins leaping into the air.
There was an adventure park so the 4 went around…
Big Jie Jie and the second baby in the house
Papa and his baby girlfriend
Last shot before we left - it was tremendous fun at the aquarium.
Caught the setting sun
It was a gigantic orb of orangey ball of fire
Had amazing udon at the foodcourt
Went to Daiso and Mei bought this rather useless item. She said she would steal Gege’s soda candy to hide in it…erm then Jie reminded her that it was transparent and we could all tell she stole it.
They loved checking out the capsule machines…at least they were better than the claw machines …
After dinner, since it was still early, we decided to add an extra stop! Okinawa Pokémon Centre at Ryu Mall! They even managed to get three stamps at this pit stop.
Papa bought a Pikachu toy. I have no idea why he loved soft toys.
They definitely had fun buying the Pokémon cards and soft toys. They also bought presents for the Christmas gift exchange with the cousins.
Ok, definitely a good trip. They opened up the loot at the apartment and Tong gushed about buying more blind boxes when we went back on the last day. We definitely needed to add display shelves to their customised beds in the new home!
There was even an aquarium at the mall.
Well, we certainly had a whale of a time today!
