Chinese New Year's eve was here! We went over to ah ma's house early...mama was sick and tired so papa took you for a jaunt to the playground on the trishaw.
papa found a new playground which was at the void deck and it had tong's FAVOURITE train. So you had a whale of time there.
oh baby you you greeted us! he did not resemble tong too much now, was growing up rapidly and a weighty baby : )
Our reunion dinner cum tong's birthday celebration.
FIRST DAY OF CHINESE NEW YEAR. check out tong in his devastatingly dashing outfit of the day. Look at those white loafers...orrrrr..ah gong thought we had paid an arm and a limb for them...hahah well we bought them from the Giant supermarket and they were really cheap...like 10 plus dollars? papa always said...what a good looking family.
Jie was dressed resplendently in finery...a wedding dress from san yi and she matched it with her tiara. Jie jie exhibited an awesome taste since young...she would request for her hair to be done up, or put on a matching hairband, necklace, earrings or bracelet with her particular outfit. She had very exacting taste and liked sparkly, girly and splendid clothes...well mama liked her in pomp pomp dresses the most.
Beautiful siblings...
Ah gong's house was decked in red...
At Serangoon, Grand Uncle Ronald's house where all ah ma's relatives would be...
You with your ah yi (ha min hers is younger but she is more senior than you as she is papa's cousin. what a complex relationship. ha)
ooo check out the matching shoes of father and son. daddy posted this photo on Facebook instead of a photo of faces as he did not want to over-share his life...
Back at Marzuki...where you spent a many carefree and happy days...
bei kor po and 4th grandaunt made this suan pan zi dish using whatever suitable ingredients they could find in the fridge...for a last minute dish, it was really scrumptious...
Raiding the fridge
ah ma hard at work
All the aunties and cousins were here...
JJ and his ah ma...
papa and tong in matching wear...papa even wore white pants. He said it would be over the top if he wore it without tong, but it was perfectly acceptable if he was seen with tong...it would be ...CUTE.
Their tradition of taking a photo of all the cousins according to height...
According to age...
family photos...
We started the tradition for you kids too...hahaha...just a couple of years ago, all of you would be bawling your heads off and refusing to cooperate...I would say this was a decent shot!
All bathed and ready to go home.
SECOND DAY - to wai po's house, mama's god ah ma's house, mama's wai gong's house.
All the men in Lu family...
All the women...
xun and mama in matching wear. I was very proud that I could find such bright and pretty cheong sams for us...eh...but my confidence was shattered when my gfs mocked at my choice and said they thought it would be funny for me to wear this...well papa was very encouraging and stated he thought we looked gorgeous together...
On the third day, we went to ah ma's brother's house...then the last visiting to papa's friend, uncle kewei and aunt yishan's house...ah...you loved the house and said you wanted to come back again. You always loved visiting new homes and found something fun and nice to play usually...
I forgot to take the photos of us lounging in the balcony and of the people at the gathering...we went to the playground for a breather and you played with a jie jie...
oooo...a 3 day CNY celebration. Tiring...but thrilling too. It was always great to meet with family.
