(16 Jun Mon) Kidsstop and Sentosa's "Wings of time"

On a balmy idyllic morning...we waited at the bus stop to go to the greatly anticipated Kidsstop at Science Centre.

It was quite crowded. there was a playground for kids to hang out while parents queued up to buy tickets. We met up with Aunt Val and JJ and went in.

First stop - Sand pit. To be an archaeologist.

Dig for fossils, dig dig dig

The human body section. A special screen when you could check out various body system.s

Finding out what your senses could do...

while Dr Isaac Tay was busy carrying out an operation...

TO the supermarket. Loads of children, left all the products all over after using them. Instead of heaping things into the baskets, I told you all to put back the stuff where they belonged and helped the station master clear up the mess!

At the plane's cockpit. Not impressive though, just a tiny area.

A toddler's area, with a tiny slide and funny toadstools stools.

Checking out the aviation area...We always asked tong what he would like to be when he grew up, tong would reply, "train!" Well, he meant train driver. No matter how daddy and mummy coaxed him to favour being a pilot instead, well, they sure earned a lot, ha, tong would adamantly refuse.

There was a giant catcher hand game. One kid would use the claw to pick up balls and then move the claw to drop all the balls into the tray that tong was carrying.

Xun played for quite a long while with a gor gor...

The cutest construction workers ever spotted...hahaha

oh my oh my...forwarded the photos to ang moh and she chuckled, "child labour."

The noodle free play area like the one we saw at the museum in USA.

Lunch time at Macs, JJ didi wanted to find xun xun so they came to join us.

We went back as our session was not up yet. Saw the solar system...glowed in the dark...

using rubber bands to make constellations...

Checking out a rocket ship...again, just a small area..

A koi pond...

Then a building block playground. That was quite nice, foamy huge blocks.

The princess...as usual...

And the pauper?

Time to go home. Headed over to the toilet. Xun enthused, " THis is the prettiest toilet in the world!" Indeed.

Chauffeur papa picked us home...

Nap time, kids.

OK off to Sentosa as Uncle Xingshun had invited us to a free preview of the new show "Wings of Time" at Sentosa. Being a sucker for free things, we woke up fresh and rested from our nap and papa drove us to Sentosa!

Having dinner at the food court before going for the show. The food was surprisingly good, apparently it was some famous zi char stall. We were not expecting too much from touristy Sentosa to offer much decent food so we were pleasantly surprised.

There was a Resilience Day for the Sentosa Corp people so the firefighters and policemen were there. We attempted to use the fire extinguisher to put out the fire.

The fire extinguisher was icy cold. And the flames were leaping up from the cauldron of burning oil, really dramatic.

Xun xun did not like the experience, she said a princess did not put out fires..ha...

Waiting for the show to start...

Taken by Uncle XS, well the outline of the stage against the darkening sky was pretty artistic...

A family shot...of people all in blue. They gave out free popcorn at the Resilience Day exhibits so the munchkins were happily munching away...

UNcle XS adored little tong tong...

THey were so chummy that they even held hands when they walked. TOng let UNcle XS carry him too. Mama always told papa how sweet-tongued uncle xs was, even the birds on the tree would be enticed to fly down to him.

Xun remembered uncle xs brought us up the Carlsberg Tower the other time and asked if he could bring us again...alas...it was pretty late by the time the show ended...

papa's sweetheart.

The show started! The lead in was rather needless. About a bunch of people who were learning how to sing a song from a weird Einstein lookalike conductor. Then two went off to the ancient rocks to explore the place.

And they accidentally woke up a magical bird who could fly through time to go back to his own land.

I must say the water and light works were pretty impressive. Mama performed before, every performance required lots of hard work and countless hours of deliberation, planning and practice. So...while some naysayers might say this show was not too fantastic, I still said, it was pretty entertaining to me. To be able to use merely water, lights and animation to come up with a show...it was pretty good...the iridescent lights, the catchy melody...the surreal images...

It ended with fireworks.

I would say...it was a really enjoyable night. Sentosa was quite a fun place, if only we lived closer, we could go and check out the Port of Lost Wonder, the Playmobil story telling sessions they always had during holidays, the beaches...the various attractions that uncle xs would be able to bring us in for free...well...but it was a tad inaccessible for mama who did not drive...oh well...

Thank God for blessing us with generous close friends...we would surely come and visit again!
