(22 May Thurs) Berenstain Bears on Stage by the Players Theatre and dinner with Aunt CC

So, mama thought I would bring you to watch a show on the Berenstain bears so that you would be more inclined to borrowing the books. Off we went, to Ulu Pandan Community Centre. Good thing that Ah Gong sent and fetched us home from this really ulu place...

The two of you could not resist playing at these cut out boards. Ha...

Posing with the poster.

The set up was really charming.

A school was there. Pretty big kids, I was wondering if the two of you would appreciate the show.

Oh the show started...

Mama bear puffed up her chest and bottom and the older kids were super amused by it. Whenever she shook her bom bom, they would giggle.

The first story was about how Brother Bear and Sister Bear would mess up the entire room and Mama threatened that she would throw away whatever things she found on the floor.

It was also a story about sibling rivalry and there was lots of funny toy throwing and bickering.

Of course, it had a happy ending. Papa bear made a toy chest and the small bears taught the kids how to separate the toys into "trash", "recycled" and "toy chest". It was pretty interactive so it was fun.

The next story was about how the Too tall gang instigated brother bear to steal melons from the farmer, if not, he would be called a chicken. Under much taunting, he gave in to the peer pressure. Farmer taught Brother about not being a "sheep", blindly following the leader's instructions. Hence Brother learnt a valuable lesson, he had to learn to resist pressure and not do what his scruples forbade him to.

The next story was about how the siblings broke a vase and came up with a cock and bull story and learnt the valuable lesson that honesty is the best policy.

The last story was the one that was closet to xun xun 's heart. It talked about how sister bear was chosen to act in a play but she was so shy and timid. After much practice, she shone at the concert. Instead, brother bear was over confident and thought it would be chicken feet and ended up having cold feet on the day!

Teacher John told mama that he wanted Xun to perform in the Aug concert! It was quite surprising, considering you only had like 10 lessons...and it was already June, so you would be performing just after 4 ish months of learning! ONe night, when we were snuggling, you vehemently told me you were scared...we talked about sister bear...and then for the subsequent times when you mentioned you were afraid, we talked about her again...and that gave you strength and hope...

mama was looking forward to your first piano recital, sweetheart...

Ok back to the house for a nap, and we headed to the korean restaurant at Turf City for dinner with Aunt Choon Chi, UNcle Vincent and XW gor gor.

The place was so spacious...

It had super high ceilings and even a projector screen tv!

Dinner was yummy and we headed to the ice cream store. It had a tiny play corner so that kept the kids occupied for a long time...

You two were finally big enough to play on your own while mummy and daddy chatted with our friends...ooooo...what a relief...

All too soon, it was time to go and the two of you wished that we could come back again. Nowadays, whenever tong felt sad about leaving a place, he would ask mama to sing the linger song. ha...you two were such sentimental kids. I love you to bits.
