(16 Dec 14 Tues) Outing with neighbours

Our neighbour, Auntie Grace had a 5 year old daughter who loved everything related to Frozen. Auntie Grace was a very humorous lady. There was once I asked her about the huge age gap between Khloven (12) and Khloee (5) and she remarked that they were from different fathers. I gasped and my eyeballs nearly popped out, ashamed that I could have committed such a faux pas. eh...she was only kidding...

On this tuesday, she dated us to go and watch Frozen Sing-a-long movie. According to the description, it was going to be an awesome, stellar performance.

Decked in her Elsa dress and tong in his fav Thomas shirt, we took public transport to town as mama needed to confirm the toys you wanted for Christmas. Also, you have saved up quite a neat sum ($50 each...somehow xun seemed to have lost some money for she should have more than tong as there were weeks she had $3 for pocket money while tong only had $1) and I stated you could buy something, save or donate the rest.

Tong loved to sit on the high seat and jie jie cuddled with him in that tiny single seat, both not wanting to sit with mama.

though after a while, tong asked to sit with me so I made you sit opposite me instead. Mama was so single-tracked and pea-brained, kept thinking of the inaccessible toy r us at Suntec, but we could have gone to Paragon, Somerset or even Tampines Mall where we were watching the movie later!

got off at dhoby ghaut and had a KFC lunch. tong spotted fish tanks and was enthralled by the colourful fish. Xun displayed exceptional knowledge, recognizing one as the angel fish. hmmm...I could not remember the names of fishes for nuts.

maybe someday we could have a tank, hmm but it would be a hassle cleaning up...but it was really relaxing and fascinating to watch them swim around.

On the train to Tampines after lunch. Xun was blasting snow and Tong dishing out thunder claps in the train...

While mama just chilled and surfed on the phone, the children came up with funny games, like pretending to sleep on the train.

and tong became the snuggly little baby to xun xun mama.

Yet on another train, we were getting so gd at taking public transport to remote places, we must truly be the Musketeers. Tong cuddled jie jie in a warm cozy embrace.

Toy r US. Spoiled for Choice. Ah...what did xun choose?

at first, some lego sets...she had watched the advertisement on wai po's telly many times...she wanted specifically some rescue centre one which was not here.

at first, it was this. She wanted to use her own pocket money to buy this as it was below $50.

and this for ah ma or xiaoshu to buy

and lingered at the glow pet pillow section, as she is a cuddly person like papa. papa could not resist touching the soft toys at Ikea too...mama did not fancy them very much.

Then she spotted this...ooooo and decided firmly that ah ma must buy this

and this, what luck, buy 1 get 1!

then we went to the Frozen section and she chose this! You could make her sing by pressing down the metal studs on both hands. Xiaoshu had wanted to buy the baby girl version with a necklace and the doll would sing when you pressed the pendant. He was surprised by your choice and thought the baby version was cuter...well...you know...you kids had your own minds and mama always respected your independence..

Tong's choices...

tong was way easier, he took the talking percy die-cast train and was contented. When mama asked about the toys that ah ma and xiaoshu would buy, he chose

$99

$64.90. Mama had thought this was $99 and worried that it was too ex for xiaoshu's budget. But xiaoshu generously said anything for tong tong. ha.

Before this, tong had wanted this at the Suntec's toy r us. Asked him about it but he declined.

Maybe we could get this as the surprise gift from the third baby? Hmmm...but we still got one tomica toy and one minnie mouse toy in the storage...with the slide bed...oh my...that reminded me we got to pack and give away the baby toys...like the caravan that papa painstakingly brought back from Australia...and which xun xun had barely touched...ARGH... no more bulky toys...

jie finally decided to buy the Frozen doll on the spot (it turned out to be $59, exceeded her budget, so i used tong's money, you two had great satisfaction passing the money yourselves to the cashier), tong bought the percy talking train.

Ah ma would buy the pony slide and thomas dino roar set, while xiaoshu bought the pony figurines and thomas paint and splash set. ha...mama and papa got lucky, we bought some little penguin waddling set (like $14.90) and a playmobil princess castle ($69 vs $500 plus in stores). weee weeee

Oh the Frozen movie?

It was the same one with lyrics for the songs. Ah...felt that I had totally wasted 2 hours of my life, though xun enjoyed it thoroughly, occasionally asking Kholee why she was not singing along when it was a sing-a-long session. And, tong fell aslp in the theatre! Totally like his dad. My goodness.

went for water play at Tampines 1.

oh and we thought we lost one of Elsa's shoes. Retraced the steps and went back to the theatre, nothing. What a bummer. Imagine my astonishment to find it in my bag! Aunt Grace said God answered our prayer. Ha...well..maybe it had dropped out when jie jie put it in mama's bag for safekeeping when she used the toilet. After retrieving it from mama, she did not notice the shoe was missing till after the show. ha...in any case, PHEW.

The girls had a lot of fun but tong tong changed out quickly and wanted to play at the dry playground. Mama had a great time chatting with auntie Grace.

There was a pasar malam and we had a go on those game machines.

auntie grace and mama took turns paying for things, she paid for the tickets, I paid for the pop corn and drinks. Then I paid for the bata shoes (yeh you and Khloee bought matching shoes, only $5 each!) and she paid for the games.

Saw rides and tong was raving to go. He wanted to try all the rides, eh but he was only suitable for this plane ride. All valiant, he took one ALONE.

While jie jie and Khloee shared one as auntie grace commented Khloee was a scaredy cat. ha..

Check out xun's mouth, she was chewing a fishball so she looked like a hamster storing food in her cheeks.

.we finally went home after a long exhausting but enjoyable day.
Auntie Grace sent us home in her HUGE gleaming white BMW and the kids all sat behind. Tong sat next to Khloven and was quiet and well-behaved for the entire (rather long, more than half an hour?) journey!

It was 11 when we reached home. What a day.

Melody Bear

papa liked the new location more, he could go grocery shopping with tong, enjoyed the air-conditioned comfort and there were joyrides and kids' stuff...

Teacher May wrote, "pictures of your little ones that i absolutely adore!" I knew she probably sent to all the parents...oh well...I hoped she really adored you a little more than the other children. ha...

papa said xun acted like a bossy jie who always rounded up the errant little munchkins.

What a blessing to have such a gorgeous and caring jie jie. No wonder tong always wanted to emulate and copy his jie jie in whatever she did.

Nowadays, the two of you are so openly affectionate...I would you two always remain so loving...
