We took a train from Vivocity to City Square. Mama asked Aunt Karen's sister to buy toys from Toy r us as she was a staff and could get 10% discount. Tong was snoozing snugly in the carrier, jie was fascinated by the carnival at the plaza but waited very patiently for tong to wake up so they could play together.
So she went to play at the playground instead, finding a friend very soon.
It was so festive there, you could see a life size Winston.
bouncy castle
sparkly christmas tree
Mama guessed tong would love this place as it was filled with trains
They had this gorgeous dangling fairy lights from the building to the plaza, awesome.
Ooooo we loved carnival rides.
jie nattered on about wanting to try this float ride as it looked so exciting.
and this bouncy castle too
maybe papa could win a prize for us at these game stalls?
there was even a train ride...it was MEGA fun.
and the lazy tong dozed on...mama was looking through the old photos in her handphone that day and discovered I loved taking sleeping photos...eh...tong did not seem to have changed a bit, his sleeping expression had remained, the cherubic cheeks with the slightly apart lips, emitting a sweet sweet breath. mama would steal kisses sometimes...
oh alas, it started raining cats and dogs. The consolation was, your cousins came to City Square to find us. They were going to the Gardens by the Bay but it was pouring there. well...we could still have fun in the toy store.
tong claimed he was cold so mama gave him the extra tee. papa declared vehemently that he saw tong and did not know it was tong and thought to himself just how dapper this little munchkin was. On closer look, he discovered it was his own son! eh...
I liked to say that papa was da pao xian (liked to exaggerate), like jie jie. There was once when we were at ah ma's house and papa found an old CD case and announced that he was going to bring it home. Jie jie confidently bragged that she always knew that papa was going to do just that. HMMMM...
well, papa's story was probably credible, since he saw tong wearing just the polo tee, then went off to put the toys in the car, and when he came back, tong seemed to have changed.
but yes, tong indeed looked utterly dapper. ha, Godma was happy as she bought that tee.
So...the kids created a din at the store, pressing every toy and darting all around...
oh tong found this dusty car and played for a long time. Aunt Lindy commented that he was truly being a pilot, as what mama had hoped for.
And the rain cleared up! Hurray. We were just in time for the snow and lights show. oooo...
Just checking out the left over foam from the last session.
Then it begun! What a flurry of snow from the train and from the foam machines mounted on the pillars opposite the train. So there were two sources of foam...and a humongous amount of foam they produced...
Tong remained really clean throughout till the very last, when he noticed how the zany jie got foam all over the dress, shoes and hair, he then put some on his head too! alamak. learnt the bad things.
the barmy jie was all delirious...ha, her kookiness could be partly caused by the lack of nap, the delight of having her cousins with her, and the sheer excitement of seeing whirls of foam
it truly seemed like a winter wonderland...well...it was the closest thing to having snow in Singapore...
It went for a full half an hour, song after song...
wow the loony jie jie was literally soaked in foam...
she kept on going in that accented voice about her and gayle being snow princesses, it was incessant, like a broken recorder...oh ya, have not heard people commenting on her accent for a long time, I guessed she had lost it for good.
ha...was this the newest hair accessory? Surely looked avant garde
We did not foresee the massive cleaning job we would be doing later.
Oh finally, ha...the session had concluded...gathering the little ones for a group photo...
ha, good thing we bought these really cheap slippers at Toy r us (usual price $9, then became $5.90 and was one for one, so gayle and you had one pair each, $3!!!), so jie changed into the spare clothes and new shoes. Tong was amazingly still really dandy and clean, and his crocs posed no problems.
Then the kids beseeched for a carnival ride...so papa allowed just one...
with the bonus ticket, we tried our hands at the game stall, eh..but no one had any luck tossing the ring to loop the bottles.
So that concluded our very sensation and fabulous day out..oh...mama thought she had better slowed down for she was getting a tad worn out from the lack of naps and buzz of activities...
Well, it was such a sweet sweet day.
