Yup, we were very busy. Even with Tim, we were still having playdates, going out on adventures...but we would come home in the late afternoon before the office crowd went home and have dinner at home. Tong had dropped his nap, Tim usually went to bed at 9 plus, so we would go to bed at 10 plus too. Thought this was somewhat better for us...liked the new lifestyle...well, when Tim was older, perhaps we would be partying outside at 10 plus 11 again...ha
At Rick's house, the boys were taking a siesta...
One day when we went to IMM on our own. Tong brought his binoculars as he was ...an explorer looking for birds? not entirely sure but he sure looked cute.
Papa's colleagues loved the two of you, i did not know why, it must be the favour of God. Aunt Angelynn bought a colouring book, it was beautiful and had biblical verses. The pictures were modelled after the stained windows of churches, and the artist remarked how stained windows shone only in brightness, exhorting us christians to shine forth too. Nice.
ORCHARD ROAD on 8th
we went for mama's medical appointment at Thomson and papa dropped us at Orchard. OOOOO bustling and fanciful Orchard all draped in Christmas finery.
We always saw these funny statues when our buses drove past ION, finally we got the chance to take a picture.
the display at ION was delightful, like a snowy wintry landscape
even had a swing
a merry-go-round
and a sleigh!
It was breath-taking, it only lacked some real snow to make it a real winter wonderland!
the backdrop of iridescent blooms added to the beauty...a DIOR shop would be opening there soon...hmmm, mama never owned a piece of Dior yet...even their facade in the midst of renovation was so pretty...
oooo an icy blue crystal mountain
sauntered down the street...we bought ice-cream from those motor-trucks...ooo mama's favourite atap-seed favour..the two of you chose a chocolate chip flavour...had been a long time since we last had ice cream...the two of you finally fully recovered from a long bout of coughing
taking photos at every opportunity
outside somerset central...oooo disco balls, would have been cool if there was music too
at 313 Somerset...ooo, an aquatic theme...What a pity that they did not think of adding a mermaid, jie jie would have loved it.
had wanted to head home, but it was already 4 plus, asked the kids if they wanted to linger in town to wait for papa to knock off from work, and they shouted YES.
tong was tired and whined about needing to nap. Ha, so we came to TCC at Funan, but he became wide awake after ordering food and decided he was ravenous instead. Well... tong had become better at regulating his moods and tantrums...nowadays he knew how to express himself when he was tired and would go and rest instead of frustrating mama with his tantrums
we sent this picture to ah ma to show her jun jun's adorable DOUBLE chin. Ah ma said jun inherited it from her. ha.
too early for daddy to leave work, we went to KFC to ear yoghurt. What a day, we ate ice cream at Orchard Road, the kids' meal at TCC came with ice cream and now yoghurt again at KFC. The two of you were obviously very delighted.
the poor baby fell asleep in the car. loved to watch him all curled up and cozy like a snug fur ball...growing up all too fast.
THE JUNGLE BOOK show at Plaza on 9th
Had arranged to meet JJ, it so happened that the triplets were going for their jabs and skipping school, so the little cousins gathered at Linear for a playdate. ha.
We cooked cabonara and tomato-based spaghetti with bak kwa...ok...it was alright...i would just buy the ready made sauce next time instead of preparing it with cheese and eggs...arghhh
all squeezed into uncle Edward's car to go to the plaza
ooooo someone commented that it was as if we were on an excursion ha
i thought we attracted some gawks from amused shoppers
it was only 2 plus, the show would only commence at 2.40pm but the cast was out on a parade!
still quite some time to go, the cousins had a picnic on the floor...mama's favourite snack, the wheel crackers
the show was based on "the Jungle Book". They improvised it to add in catchy modern songs and some slapstick humour...
some acrobatics too, eh actually, more like one acrobat, the toucan or parrot, who was the only one who performed acrobatic stunts and was not at all necessary to the plot
the tigress was oozing with sensuality when it strutted around in the parade...
it was quite an interesting show, though it would have perhaps appealed more to the older kids. But the two of you were entertained and did not mind going again tomorrow to watch it with Aunt A. (Eh..in the end, we did not, as the sky was overcast, you two were watching television and jun was sleeping)
yup the lone acrobat
this segment involved them using the piece of green cloth to create a floaty stage
with characters popping out intermittently
it was enjoyable, caught you and JJ laughing away
sun claimed gayle was her first favourite cousin, JJ, her second favourite. Ha she was always seated between JJ and Gayle for they fought to sit with her.
Enjoyed it! Ha...the triplets went off, and we went back with JJ and were at the pool for 2 plus hours! You made friends with two gentlemanly and cute gor gors (8 and 10) and played Monkey together. Came back and we had dinner together...oh ...what a lovely day with cousins...our very first childhood friends.
Snippets from Aunt Lindy's postings on FB
ha on another random day, caught the three of you sleeping in all sorts of strange ways..
jie looked so sublime even in her sleep, what a classic lounging look, perfect for a photoshoot
while this kukubird had his head under the pillow
and our darling tim tim...who always looked so cherubic and chubby
ha, the two of you were figuring out if jie jie had grown taller, so you hugged each other to see where tong reached...i thought tong used to be at her nose...but seemed like jie could have grown? well..perhaps we should take more photos over the years to see how the two of you measured up against each other...and perhaps with tim in future...
papa was just reflecting on his life...how he had taken a pay cut to plunge into the unknown of a new company...sometimes he felt foolish and unsure if it was a wise move...but deep inside, he knew he was exactly where God wanted him to be...well...maybe we would not have tim if we had gone to USA for his Masters...who knew? But in all things...we knew God is Very good to us...and life is Very good with three bundles of joy and blessing from heaven.
Thank you, Jesus.
