Xun, you always prayed for balmy weather every night. When we went out and it happened to be sunny, you always hollered, "Jesus, can you make it good weather now?" On the night before, I told you that I was going to give you a surprise. The sky looked overcast and you looked downcast that we might have to cancel the trip. Mama checked the forecast, printed the Groupon tickets and we took a gamble and set off!
| Tong loved birds, he was just so enthralled with birds...mama often bought good deals from Groupon and Deals.com.sg, so we were often exploring some obscure corner of Singapore. Well, it was costly to go on outings, say we spent $30 on 2-way cab fares, $30 on admission, $20 on food...papa assured mama that it was ok, he would provide for us, the memories and experiences we had were more worthwhile than the money spent : ) |

| posing for the photo |
| oooo, xun, you told me that looked like the colourful macaw in Diego's story! |
| Oooo flamingos, I taught you that they got their red plumage from the shrimps they ate... |
| Tong yelled, "BIRDS!" |
| Checking the map to see where we should venture next. Ah, xun, you spotted the water park straight away. Would you believe it, it was terribly coincidental, of all the days that the water park could be closed for maintenance, it had to be the very day we were visiting :( |
| It looked like mega fun. What a pity it was closed. |
| Never mind, let's play at the dry area then! |
| You urged me to swing you HIGHER! |
| What a picturesque spot! |
| A family shot! At the highest man made waterfall. |
We got a scare. We realised we lost your bear when we were having a snack. I berated you, accusing you of having dropped the bear, I thought maybe you left it in the taxi. I checked the photos and saw that the bear was still there in my bag at the playground! So we retraced our steps to find it. You were rather calm and did not sob like how you would when you lost things in the past. The chirpy you said we were finding the lost bear just like how dora was looking for her lost list in the book and we had to go back to the places we visited. Heh...we almost lost tong's duck while looking for your bear. He was vigilant and whinged when it dropped and we picked it up. Phew. When we saw your bear lying on the floor beside the slide, you dashed towards it and hugged it. Orrrrr...what a happy ending...
| Having walked so much, we got weary and decided to take the tram ride. You enjoyed it so much and we went TWO rounds. Before we knew it, it was almost 2pm and we needed to head home for your naps. |
Before we discovered we lost your bear, you were telling me how much you liked the place and would like to visit again, especially to the water playground. The losing of bear marred your experience and you stated you did not want to come again. I tried to explain it was not the place's fault, it was our carelessness. You were adamant we should not come anymore.
I lamented then I supposed it was because the place made you sad as you almost lost your bear there, to which you agreed. Actually, I thought maybe it was my fault, maybe I dropped the bear while rummaging the bag for the snacks or water bottles or camera. I apologised for being harsh and reprimanding you...hang head in shame...sorry, mama made mistakes often too... |
We saw this wall of penguins and you found one that was as tall as you. Coincidentally, tong tong was unaware of what you were doing but happened to stand at the penguin which was his height!
| Alright, overpriced lunch at the moo moo cow table, you were tickled by this as it had little stools and you commented they were perfect for little children... |
Hurray, end of adventure...going back home sweet home...tong tong was infatuated with mama's LV wallet, he sure was a fashionista...
I wonder what your reactions would be when you read this blog w hen you are older...or when we are no longer around...Often, you would look at my wedding photos and gushed that you were not in my wedding photos as you and didi were still in heaven with Daddy God...you often talked about how Daddy God had given you a funny little brother...know that even when we are not with you physically, you know we are watching over you from heaven and waiting for the day when all 4 of us will be together again with Jesus in Heaven. |
